Since you're interested in a good throat hit, you should definitely get a variable voltage unit such as the eGo Twist or the Spinner. Having VV lets you dial up the power until you get a good throat hit, and lets you compensate for a carto or clearo coil that's getting older and a bit weak.

Variable voltage has been IMO the best single improvement for ecigs, and I wouldn't be without it.

Perfect! So the one above I liked is an Ego twist right? I'm assuming that is what the "T" stands for?

And last questions, why was a separate cartridge recommended if the starter kit came with one? Also, why did the Magic Mist prefills get more of a throat kick with my blu than the Blu brand if it has to do with the battery power?

I cut over 2 smokers recently and sent them both to get this kit right here, and they are both very happy. The Kanger EVOD is very low maintenance, easy to use, and cheap to replace heads (the head is the actual part that vaporizes the liquid and the wick which is located in the base of the Evod)

Kanger Evod MT BCC Starter kit

Maybe cheaper elsewhere but this is my go to vendor for juice, the Wordup Red juice has amazing throat hit and vapor and i use a 70/30 PG VG mix at 24mg. Use coupon code e-cig or ecig, if e-cig works its 10% off.

Now if you want the same thing and want to save money and dont mind waiting for shipping this is how id do it

Id order 2 of these Evods at 5 bucks each(free shipping)

eGo 2.4ml EVOD MT BCC Metal Bottom Coil Changeable

A pack of Evod heads at 1.8ohm

EVOD Coil Unit For eGo MT BCC 1.6ml

juice OPTION 1, i love this juice and recommend it, but its not cheap. Amazing TH/flavor/vapor. Wordup Red if you like tobacco, if you prefer menthol get Red Pack Menthol. Select 70/30 PG & VG and id go with 24mg if youre using full strength blus and find they lack TH

E-Liquids

Ok for your batteries this will take a few weeks but is CHEAP and they will get the job done fine. These are 650mah which will beat the heck out of your blus, but still have a smaller profile which may be nice to switch over to. You can get any sort of ego threaded battery for EVOD heads, so if you want to go a little bigger, or have more options like variable voltage this could be changed. Also as an added bonus you get some other cheap clearos to sample flavors with or have as backups

$18.38 CE4+ 6-in-1 USB Rechargeable 650mAh Electronic Cigarettes Health Keeping Set - black / US plug adapter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

juice OPTION 2 Then they also have some cheap juice, i havent tried any but others in this thread linked some and this is what i ordered to sample ( i only am willing to try it myself as it has a 5 star rating from someone, i cannot say if i think its great or not yet)

$5.61 Authentic LIQUA E-liquid for Electronic Cigarettes (30ml) - bright tobacco flavor / 24mg/ml nicotine at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I may be wrong but I believe the "T" stands for "tank", which is an atomizer system (it's a little confusing). I went to the link provided and nowhere in the text was "variable voltage" which is a big selling point.

Here's a view of the Twist: Joytech Ego-C TWIST Batteries

Joytech makes the original eGo, all the rest are copies. I've used a couple of them; one was okay, one was not. I'd spend a couple bucks more and go with the real deal.

Trust me,most people start out with ego style kits and move up,if i had my time back i would have got the Vamo or the Vari, less money and time wasted,i go back too my ego now and then, just too see the diff from my Vamo and the taste and vapour is just not there with the egos,go for the bigger mods.BUT...if you insist on a smaller sleek ecig,i d go with the EROLL kit.

Seems like the responders are guiding you to the larger style ecigs. Not that there is anything wrong with those, and in fact most people prefer the larger equipment, but you mentioned that you like the compactness/sleekness of the Blu. An option that is closer to the Blu is a 510 style kit, such as the Joyetech 510. I've been vaping with a 510-T tank style ecig for about a year and haven't felt the need to go to anything larger. I get around the shorter battery life with a PCC, which is a portable charging case that I carry around and charge my batteries on the go. Again, most people eventually choose the larger ecig, but not everybody. It just depends on how much a compact ecig is to you personally.

Eh the mods arent for everyone, i know plenty of non ecf vapers and they just have no interest at all in my mod. They think its cool, they try it out, they like it, but they still prefer what they use. I still use my egos with the evod sometimes when i dont want to carry a full size mod around, and im a bit of a gear junkie, so im just happier with more toys rather than find one the best and only use that

Heavyrocker, even if I was certain the OP would go on to purchase a Provari or other big mod, I'd still recommend going with Egos as starter units. You always want to have backups in case your main PV fails (it happens, and you'd be glad to have something on hand). Egos are mine and will get me by until my Buzz Pro comes back from the shop.

...and...

I like a smaller ecig for a quick vape of opportunity at work, such as while walking between buildings.

It's easier to stealth vape with a small unit.

A cheaper PV will give you less grief if you lose it during some recreational activity away from home. (imagine waking up with a hangover on Sunday morning and your Provari is gone...)

I went with this recommendation in entirety because of how highly recommended Joy is and how I wanted it to be the real deal and not a copy.

I went with the 24ML Apple crush and Menthol flavors my only hope is that the throat hit is on point. Everything came out to about $55 with 5% coupon. I got the battery, charger and clearomizer with the two flavors.

Another reason I started here was because I liked ordering all from one vendor. I didn't want to have to wait for 3 seperate packages.

However, I learned a lot from this thread alone and definitely see myself trying out the other recommendations. Especially the juice one where I can customize the mixture.

Thank you all VERY MUCH and feel free to continue posting tips to me if you have anything additional to say.

That combination should do a good job for you Crookid. The Evod is probably the most advanced of the clearomizer models and should be easy to fill and keep working.

Tip: look for vendors that have reasonably priced sample packs. Just about everyone who vapes winds up with a large number of juices they just don't care for, so it's good to try the smallest sizes first.

You might be interested to look at Roar Vapor. I've been pleased with their juices, especially Truth Serum which I count among the top ten juices I've ever had.

Awesome, I'm quite excited to try manual juices and a "real" unit. I love how the battery life is around 10 hours also. So sick of this blue running out of... Well.. Everything.

I hate to regurgitate what I asked before, but with this unit do you think I will get a good throat hit? A good TH is hugely important to me if you couldn't tell, lol.

I would recommend a pass through so you can always plug in. Batteries run out and need charging etc. then you are going to be tempted to reach for a stinky. Back ups for your back ups.

I currently have a ego pass through but I find I am messing up the connection from plugging and unplugging ( and running over it with my computer chair). I just ordered a direct wired one from fasttech. It was only like $7.50 with free shipping (~8-10 days)

Actually Fasttech is turning into one of the go to sites. They are in HK so the English translations are a little, uhh, funny, but the prices are just about the best you'll find. I also hear the customer service is real good and the shipping is pretty fast for where they are located. They also ship free anywhere in the world. A lot of people recommend them and have had good experiences with them. Like any other site you shop on you have to be aware of some things being knockoffs. Being a knockoff doesn't necessarily mean that the item is crap though. I'm sure if you looked around more on here you'd be able to get reviews on Fasttech.

My experience with clearomizers has been that they give less throat hit than atomizers and cartomizers. The ones I've used such as the Vision, Kanger T2 and T3, couldn't wick fast enough when the voltage was turned up to give a stronger hit, so they tended to develop a burnt taste. The Evod may be better in this respect since it's newer.

Factors that affect throat hit in more or less descending order:
- nicotine strength... more nicotine = more throat hit
- vapor temperature... turning up the voltage gives hotter, denser vapor
- flavor strength... strong flavors tend to give stronger throat hit
- the juice's base... PG (propylene glycol) gives more throat hit than VG (vegetable glycerin); 80/20 ratio is good

510 atomizers tend to produce good TH. However, you must drip juice into them (2 drops give 4-6 drags) or use them on a bottom feeder type PV.

Filler-type cartomizers (Boge, Smoktech, Kanger) are good for TH and are what I use most of the time. They're fairly convenient if you use a carto tank, then you only need to refill once or twice per day. The DCT tanks work well for an Ego. The vapers I see in my town (there are 4 vape shops) almost all use carto tanks.

When I was at the Roar Vapor site a little while ago I saw something which might work for you: Poison with Menthol
Poison is a cigarette tobacco flavor. Quite a few menthol juices are only menthol, or menthol plus mint, but no tobacco. I was thinking, Poison at 24mg nicotine + 70/30 PG/VG + Blizzard menthol level ought to give a pretty good hit.

They also offer LOL WAY TOO MUCH MENTHOL level, if you really want to chill.

Nice, some good info here. I picked up the 24mg nic level since I heard it gives more TH before, so I am going to see how the hit is when it comes. If I don't get enough TH, I am going to pick up that cart u mentioned since its only 7 bucks. That juice bottle looks cool too lol.

I'm super happy I picked up that battery though. Juicing seems a lot more fun and customizable than the prefills garbage I'm used to.

Is there a link or something I can read that explains the VG levels and all that you mentioned? It seems rather interesting.

Also, these juices are all the safe kind right? I heard that China made ones don't follow FDA and can be more toxic?

To reiterate what NJDP said, they are totally legit. The web site is a bit chaotic and hard to navigate but the deals can be great. Yes, watch for knock offs but you seem to get knock offs half the time in the US as well. That does not mean that they are not a good product. If you want to order from there you can always check in the thread JNDP put up to see others take on the item. It does take around 8-10 days shipping on average. You will learn to shop around. One vendor rarely if ever has very thing or every thing at a good price.

If you want to rip your throat to threads, try the Cinnimon red hot from Mt Baker at 2.4mg and one extra flavor shot, I cant even vape it. Watch that 24mg though. I was a heavy smoker of roll my own non filters and the 2.4 made me nick sick after a long vape session.
