UPDATE: So I went into my local smoke shop to get cartridges for the Blu to hold me over until my new order came in and notice an array of batteries and other stuff! Knowing a bit of what you guys taught me, I noticed an eGo system but because it was not the Joy brand, I decided to hold off on that.

However, my girl has been hording my Blu at night, so I promised I would get her something. There was a smaller "starter kit" for ECG, which came with a battery, a cartomizer and a juice for $30. I figured for $15 more than the Blu cartridges, I could have a new system to hold me over and if it turns out good, I can pass it along to my girl when my Joy comes in the mail.

To my surprise the thing hits like a champ! GREAT throat kick and the flavor which was ECG Watermellon was a nice touch! I am not sure how good the brand is around here, but if my Joy is ANYTHING like this or better, then I am in for a treat!!!!!

Is ECG reputable?

I went with this recommendation in entirety because of how highly recommended Joy is and how I wanted it to be the real deal and not a copy.

I would agree with your choice and reasoning. I'd feel more comfortable buying authentic Joyetech branded equipment from a trusted online vendor. Joyetech seems to be a very reputable name and I have confidence in their products. My GF and I have six 650 mah Joyetech branded eGo batteries between us and are very happy with them. As to whether they are better quality than non Joyetech branded batteries I cannot say with any real authority. I will say that I bought a non Joyetech dragon pattern 900 mah eGo battery from my local vape shop (the GF saw it, loved it, and wanted one :D) and we charged it once, used it until it discharged (no performance issues) and the next time I attached it to a known working charger, it would not charge. I took it back to the shop and fortunately the owner is way cool and has a very loose "if it doesn't work bring it back and I will either fix it, replace it, or refund your money" policy. He wiggled it open, looked at it for about 5 minutes, tried charging it himself, and then chucked it in the defective bin and gave me another brand new one. He said they aren't worth his time to spend more than 5 minutes or so on it as he'll just contact his vendor and get a refund for it. This one is behaving much better so far.

Regardless, congratulations on your new gear purchase! As I've seen it said before by others on ECF, the vaping world is a bit like the wild west. So many things are subjective to opinion, preference, and personal experience. Definitely sounds like you're doing your homework and research before making a decision to purchase, and are obviously asking the right questions of all of the experienced vapers here!

I started with Blu cartomizers myself. I like having a much bigger world to explore with tank systems that allow me to try out different e-liquids. I DO still love the Blu Classic Tobacco flavor though and REALLY wish they'd sell it in a bottled form!

Good luck! :vapor:
