Hello,

short version of my question: what's a good replacement tank for my subtank mini??

I started back in 2014 with nautilus mini, it was great. But because i don't liked mixed flavours in my coils i did go to a subtank mini (thanks to advise on this forum) and i used it since then beacause it is cheap to make a new coil when i use another flavour. I always build single coils on the subtank mini deck, with awg 26, 27 or 28 with ohm between 0.5 and 1.15 because i am a mouth to lung vapor.

I am looking for a new mout to lung tank, wich i can easely build on single coils, like i used to do on my subtank mini. My troubles with this was that the coils got dirty and burnd after 1-2 days. Then i started to make spaced coils, with not to less not to much cotton so that the coil have a longer lifetime. In combination with lower wattage (around 8-8.5 watt with +- 0.75 ohm) it worked, now i need to build a new one after 3-5 days. But there is also less vapour production...

So i need a tank - easy to build - eventually with more vapour production then with my setup - mouth to lung - and because of my bussy life (work monday to friday, hitting to gym often, friends, ...) i don't wanna build to often... Any tips? Advice? Tank that i could buy?

Thanks in advance!

P.S.: In the meanwhile i bought also a council of vapour RDA, where i use to do direct lung hits. I build dual clapton coils or hive coils with this one, sometimes single coil, most dual and around 40WATT. But it keeps getting so hot, and because of the coils are so close to the mod (i use it on wismec mini, istick 40w tc or my innokin mvp 3.0 pro) i don't like it that these rda get so hot after 2 or 3 hits and that the heat gets to the mod ... So this direct lung is okay for time to time, but not for all day vape to me, and for sure not at work with huge clouds and constantly dripping...

Moved you to RTA from Ask The Veterans - you are going to need to participate in your thread :)
My apologies for using the wrong place to post this question! But i came back to ECF because of great help in the past! So if someone got some advice for me, just post it here! I was maybe thinking about the Kanger Protank 4 evolved, because of good experience with kanger subtank mini...

I've been using a couple sub-tank minis since they first came out. Using the same resistance range and maybe 2 or 3 watts higher than you, with slightly spaced coils. Only big difference is I've only used rayon in mine, nice fairly tight wick with big fluffed ends.

My coils and wicks are lasting a month or two. But I never use them for my NET juice and don't vape anything with sweeteners or creamy flavors, may also be a factor.

I don't know this kind of wicking material. Thanks for the information, i will look it up and maybe give it a try! (after a quick google i found a lot of pro's and cons about rayon, so i will need a better investigation). "a month or two" sounds unbelievable from my point of view with STM? :D but i should give it a try. Any advise on other clearomizers?

Take a look at a Merlin mini and Serpent mini as well. Air can be throttled back quite well and excellent flavor.
Thanks for the information. Serpent mini looks nice and got a good wide deck to build on. The Merlin mini looks nice but has only a 2ml tank (i remember from my nautilus mini that this was not enough for me...) You got experience with building single coil on the serpent mini?

Yeah, the only problem building on that deck is that when working with thin wire, like 28G plain, it can be a pain to catch the legs properly by the screws, The can get under the screws, look in place, but still have a little movement which results in an intermittent connection. 26G, or a bigger coil like a Clapton is just fine. Be aware the Serpent mini is another 2 ml tank like the Merlin. There are other variants including a 25 mm Serpent which hold more juice.

If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply they have it cheaper. Also check out the rayon thread
Rayon Wick - Better Flow, Flavor, Longevity, and Nic Hit!! - Pt.2
Page 1 gives you a good starting point.

Sorry didn't realize you're in Belgium. You can get DM/ elbin viskose balls & Tidi large balls. It's even better.

Give the 22 mm Digiflavor Siren a shot. It's a reasonably priced single coil MTL tank with fantastic flavor and it is the easiest ever to build and wick. Since you are in Belgium, I would recommend you get one from China because I'm not sure where in Europe you can find one. As long as you get enough wick in the juice channels it is trouble free. It's the most forgiving RTA I've tried. I am stocking up on the 22 mm Siren for my vapocalypse stash. Come over to our Siren thread and see what you think.

Digiflavor Siren GTA

One other thing -- the Siren 22 mm is either 4 ml or 4.5 ml. I can't remember which. It's plenty big for me.
