I had a guy at work last night ask me what my PV was. I explained. He said something along the lines of....well, it won't work. I just smiled peacefully. On our 30 min break he smoked 3 analogs. Every time he put one out, I changed cartos....

And asked him every time....

What does yours taste like now? Mines coffee.

What does yours taste like now? Mines banana.

What does yours taste like now? Mines cognac.

Needless to say he avoided me the rest of the night ROFL

This has all become incredibly interesting... and quite different that I expected...

I was asked today, by a former smoker how I was doing with the electronic... (Iver is VERY supportive of this) Of course, I started talking about the positive effects on my health and how I feel as though a monkey was lifted from my back in terms of all of the social issues that smoking provides... I also still follow the normal smoking rules such as going outside to smoke. Yes, I know I can get away with it almost anywhere, but I choose not to. People are already ... stupid enough about it and I really don't need to cause any issues or problems with it. It's just not worth it...

But in my conversation about this, I realized that maybe I still follow the 'rules' in order to let those who understand a smokers life, see how you can still be a smoker but CHANGE your life in many ways...

So I guess that I am performing a better service by letting smokers see this than in trying to help non-smokers understand something they will NEVER understand...

The double standard is also interesting... as the arrogant and angry NON-smoker is berating me on how awful nicotine is while he is sipping his triple-shot expresso from starbucks...lol

Interesting thread, very interesting!

I myself have had only a little negativity, usually people want to know when I am going to quit vaping. I just ask why would I quit this when I enjoy it so much while smiling like I know so much more than they do, lol.
Age groups, hmm, I think they stretch pretty far in here. 50's myself and just getting ready for my 2nd childhood, I wish it would hurry before I get oo old to enjoy it! :)

You have never once offended me Mordie, where would you get such an idea? If anything there was a time I thought I had offended you. You are thoughtful, funny, even-tempered, smart... even the gloomy/dark side of you has a certain appeal because it doesn't come off as evil or angry. You are a big part of what makes this forum interesting.

By the way, your current avatar is really growing on me. The King can stay in the wings awhile longer :)

Thank you Ms. Keelalagirl. If I do go on sabbatical it wouldn't be for long (hopefully)... I would miss you all. I know I talk a lot, but at least I can say there has never been any arrogance behind it, and it's never been from a point to rack up posts, etc.... I like to talk, I like taking things ot (like right now, this is my comfort zone, to be unpredictable and heart felt).... I've always felt the best conversations are the ones that grow organically... When I do offend someone, I feel bad for it (ask Ms. Eleanor or Ms. Star) and do my best to fix whatever issue I may have caused...... I don't need the last word, nor do I ever act like I know all about everything...... So yes, it's getting to me....

My brother and SIL are one of the naysayers. However, my mom who smoked for well over 40 years hasn't had an analog since September, I've had three cigarettes since January 1, my husband hasn't had a cigarette in a week, my FIL hasn't had a cigarette since Sunday. My brother and SIL are still smoking. He says they've had an open dialogue about quitting but have no game plan to quit and scoff at our e-cigs. Whose the real winner here...me!

Goobers.

Wow you guys, it's nice to know I'm not alone :) and very interesting learning how everyone handles the negativity.
On the flip side.
I have a guy at work that asks me every day- "what flavor are you smoking today" or he tries to guess by the sent of the vapor. He's funny, always waiting to see what the flavor of the day is.
