Maybe its just me, but I could tell the difference in both the looks and performance. It does hit harder but maybe cause I'm subohm (slightly). Even the feel and finish of the steel. Its like the difference between a real Rolex and a Chinese fake. Not bashing. But you can feel and tell the difference when they're side by side

I have a Gen2 hcigar clone with the light angel of death. Does anyone have a good method of making the etching black?

Used to do this w my golf clubs all the time... black nail polish, let it sit for about 5 min to dry, then rub the tube down lightly with nail polish remover to get the excess off.

If you're talking about silver plated contacts, you don't want to use anything abrasive or you'll strip off the silver. Just use soap and water and rinse thoroughly or lightly clean them with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol.

Yeah, the rough side of a sponge will work just fine. You won't strip anything off but dirt, oil, and oxidation. Just don't go crazy, they use silver for a reason!
Don't use sandpaper, you will regret it!

To clean the contacts, just use a pencil eraser and wipe down with a paper towel after to get the rubber off. I wouldn't use any abrasives on silver or any other kind of plating, personally.

Why do you say the fasttech ones are not hcigar? I can put money on that mine from the first batch from fast tech is hcigar.

Hcigar has venting holes on the same place as original. FT nemesis is not from hcigar. I think that FT is buying clones from here. They have all ft clones (Nemesis, chi you, poldiac, EA, kayfun etc...)

Well like I said my nemesis mod was from the 1st batch on fasttech and my air holes are in the same place as the original. I have seen also the brass nemesis from hcigar with the air holes in 2 different positions.

Hcigar is NOT a manufacturer. They are a distributorship, same as Fasttech. Hcigar markets primarily to vendors, Fasttech directly to consumers.

They both contract a few different factories to manufacture their products. Sometimes a given product will all come from the same production line, and depending on demand and the factories' supply capability, sometimes multiple factories will be providing a given product. You can bet the same factories are providing Fasttech as Hcigar on some lots. And you can bet that on a high popularity item as the Chemmy that not all of Hcigar's lots are coming from the same factory.

There may be QC sorting with lower grade items going to Fasttech, but I highly doubt it. I would guess that the only difference is the distribution method, leading to a consumer's cost difference.

This is not the case with all items. For example, the Hcig EA clone is clearly a different product than the FT EA clone. But for many (maybe most) items the only difference is the method of distribution.

The whole "It is the HCigar/It isn't the HCigar" is played out and pointless. If both are of equal quality, what does it matter?

The conversations on how we enjoy these mods and improve upon them are way more relevant and enjoyable.

I bought a SS nemi from FT, and I bought a full brass known Hcigar from BBV.
They are both identical and interchangeable (less the finish and material)

So I started a new thread to ask this question but maybe this a better place to ask. My black derlin piece in the top cap of my nemmy clone got hot and now falls out. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for it or can I glue it back in somehow?

What up guys, ordered a fast tech nem clone a week or so ago. Saw that vaperev had some matte nems in stock so picked one of those up as well. Still waiting on shipping, which will be quite some time since I'm in japan. But boy am I excited.
Read the entire thread and will def reference back if I have issues.
Definitely going to be frequenting this thread.
