Oh whilst I think about it - I keep dogs - have done for years - One of the things we always get told about is that Chocolate is very poisonous to dogs.

The toxicity of the chocolate is proportional to the actual size of the animal though - so I did a bit of research when my pet Sprocker ate a chunk of chocolate off my coffee table (thieving little sod) and discovered that she would need to consume about 2lbs of the stuff to encounter poisoning related symptoms.

She'd have puked up before that happened - so although it IS posionous and needs to be reported - you MUST put things into context.

It's like those warnings you get on tools and such that indicate that some utter fool has done the mentioned act and thus it now has to go on the warning as a disclaimer for the manufacturer - the favourate one of mine is the one that appears on a russian chainsaw box? - "warning do not stop blade with genitals"

I learned that from my vet too! When I was a kid, we fed m&ms to the dog all the time, but with what they know now I freaked when my 75lbs dog ate a small box of Valentine milk chocolates. The vet kind of snickered. He was far more interested in the foil the dog was passing. He said it's the super dark baking type chocolate that's really a danger.

And don't use a blow dryer in the shower.

Hi all! First post here. I too had some anxiety about vaping when I first started. I was smoking 24mg at the start and quickly realized this was too much even to replace my pack a day cigarette habit. I am now down to 6-12 mg juices and feel much more comfortable when vaping. I can chain vape for a long time and still feel no nicotine side affects. =)

Also try drinking some water more through out the day. Most vapors have experienced the urge to drink more water. This may ease your stomach quite a bit

This definitely helps especially if you are a soda drinker. Great way to start kicking drinking the soda which will help keep you healthier as well

drug talk? i know nicotine is a drug but isn't that kind of why we're all here...?

Yes this puzzled me greatly as well - AFAIK there's been no mention of illegal/illicit drugs at all - just a mention of painkillers (hardly illegal or illicit) and chocolate (again hardly nefarious at all) And the word Genitals obviously has "some" sexual implications...

So - as far as I can tell no forum rules have been infringed??

And if we cannot discuss Nicotine PRUDENTLY and HONESTLY in order to placate members who may have some unfounded and unsubstantiated fear of the substance - then surely that would negate the entire purpose of the forum?

It's clear that a web search maybe may flag this thread with mention of nictotine and toxic etc.. but if they click the link they would see the then sufficient explanation detailing the situation.

I'm not being deliberately pedantic here but I am puzzled by the somewhat zealous statement...

Apologies in advance if I have misinterpreted anything but if we can't discuss nicotine for fear of bad google search results then that's pretty debilitating......

And if it is indeed true that we cannot discuss Nicotine itself in any way then it would be prudent for the rules to perhaps be modified to mention this directly so as to allay any future confusion - after all members are going to automatically assume that they are able to talk about Nicotine on a forum devoted to the inhaling of the substance..

I think Caridwen's post was directed toward baadmotorfinger since he was the one that edited baad's post.
Good thread!
To OP:
I had a little trepidation myself when I started filling my own delivery systems but it's really not lethal at all if you get a spot of juice on your hands or in your mouth as you're vaping. I usually have a paper towel with me when filling and if I get any on me I just wipe it off with no effects at all. I've had some juice pop in my mouth a couple of times and aside from being a bit startled, there's no ill effects.
