I have come to despise making coils. Being tommy tinkerer is no longer fun. Instead of my normal 20 hours of research I did about 5 minutes and decided to by the "coil master"

Will I be happy ?

Any tips ? Or is it as straightforward as prom night in high school ?

1: happy?
YES.

2: tips?
It's pretty straightforward..
maybe the biggest thing is figuring out what ID internal diameter to use;
oh I think it's probably definitely more straightforward than prom night

Pretty convenient for making simple coils but if you ask me, the hexacoiler is where it's at. You have to do your wraps by hand like wrapping around a screwdriver but you can easily make some of the more advanced coils. After discovering inception coils, I have forgot my devices are capable of temperature control.

I think so. It pretty much does what it's supposed to.

My prom night was anything but straightforward, but details would be in violation of the ECF TOS.

I will say that I always do two extra wraps, flip the coil on the rod, and pull off the extras with a mini needle nose pliers. They look neater that way. Don't use a lot of pressure when wrapping, that may cause overlapping with some gauges of wire.

I've been using the Coil Master for a few months. It's quick, easy on the fingers, and works great. As others have said, just don't apply a lot of pressure, especially with thinner gauge wire, or you'll overlap your winds. Just very light pressure, and let the tool do the work.

Thanks for the replies and tips guys. Much appreciated. I will listen to Ya all even though that's one of my weakest skills (listening):). Well that and one handed bra removals on prom night...... I'm a simple coil guy. I use a REO and single coil, if it's a good coil, it does me very well.....

@ Oberon75 I've heard of those coils just by watching RIP here n there but I never attempt what's in the video. I can't place what they look like n how they would affect temperature but that sounds neat. I'll have to read up more on them and that jig of yours if it's really a game changer ...

It's a nice little setup with tools that make things like inceptions a lot easier then rips video. You start the nano coil with the second from smallest post and then slide a sleeve over it to wrap your macro around it. The hardest part of the build is wicking the damn thing. Rip uses 6 wraps in his video but I found the ramp up time to be a bit too long. I'm doing mine with 5 wraps and it's perfect. The 24g build I'm using is registering at .72 ohms.

I bring up temperature because it's not something you could build with temperature control wire such as Ni200. I bought my SX Mini and DNA 40's for temperature control but now find myself not really using it. The build consists of a nano coil squeezed inside of a macro coil. It's very flavorful and gives you a generous amount of vapor for being a single coil setup that you are going to run at about 40w.

I have a Coil Master Clone. Works Great.

My only real Suggestion is to Start with a Straight piece of Wire, give it a Half Wrap to get it started, then use the End Piece to do the rest of the wraps.

When you are Done, Push the Stating End of the wire thru the Body instead of Pulling the Coil off the end of the Mandrel with the End of the Wire.

It's a pretty simple tool to use. And after about 3 Coils, you'll know how much pressure to keep on the coil.
