I have been vaping for close to 3 weeks now and love it.

I bought an EVO and I like it but I had to see what allthe hype was with the 510 so I bought one.

Works great, great draw, great vapor. Only problem is I only get about 10 good drags off a full cart (about 15-20 drops) then the drags get weak and I have to top off again (about 2-3 drops) to get good full drags.

Is this because the atty needs to break in? Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I have PTB filters but havent installed any yet. I did it the way Moobyghost showed in his video but the filter barely fills up the cart (not the juice - the actual filter...what I mean is with poly it fills up the whole cart with filler, fits snug. With PTB its loose and looks as if the juice would flow right through it to the bottom of the cart.

Any help would be appreciated.

THanks a ton.

Its the cart, not the atty. I drip myself, but the problem with the stock filler is that the juice doesn't get to the atty very easily, it wicks far too slow considering the amount of juice the atty can vaporize in a short time.

You can try alternating between two assembled 510's, or mess with cart modding, or simply drip. :)

That's the idea. You use the whole cart to store juice, with the filler wicking it toward the atty, so you get a lot more puffs and a lot less topping off. That's why some people use syringes or pipettes and stick them down in the cart and fill from the bottom up.

But PTB is a little tricky to get right, with enough uniform looseness that it doesn't have a big hole in the middle or a big gap on the outside. Fraying it can help -- take a pair of scissors and cut the PTB roll lengthwise for about 3/4 the length, and then rotate a quarter twist and cut again, perpendicular to the previous cut. If you want to really get fancy, leave about an inch of the outside unrolled, do the cross-cuts, then roll the frayed PTB into the remaining inch for a "shell" around the outside.

I worked and worked to try and get the PTB right in my 901 carts (used on a 510). I'm sure I could have gotten there.. but I ultimately gave up.

I went with the straw mod... but I used a metal basketball needle filler for the straw. That has worked very, very well for me. I can drain the cart and then put between 15 and 25 drops back in it (remember, the 901 cart is larger.. and "drop" size varies like crazy depending on which bottle it is coming from!).

That's the best I have found so-far. But the search isn't over.

I like the straw mod better than PTB in 901s too. I use PTB for my 510 carts, and straw mod (my "straw" is the tube from a spray bottle) for 901s.
