New and Confused

This is my first post so, hi all!

I'm a ex-smoker. I've not smoked in over 10 years but I still miss it and get occasional cravings. It's the long breathing in, the drawback sensation, and long breathing out that I enjoyed most. Very therapeutic and rewarding as I'm sure you can all relate to.

About a month ago a friend introduced me to an e-cigarette. It was a cheap $10 cigarette lookalike from a little Chinese convenience store. I was immediately captivated by it and ended up getting my own...

I tried all the different flavored cartridges as they were cheap enough. They are all non nicotine flavors as I live in Australia. I settled for the Marlboro flavor.

A couple of weeks ago I found this forum, signed up and began researching this hobby you call vaping. It opened my eyes to a whole new world. But slowly it became more like a rabbit whole haha. You guys have your own lingo and abbreviations but I think I am getting the hang of it.

Anyway my quest is to find the best possible cigarette lookalike. I understand there are much better products that look nothing like a traditional cigarette but this defeats the purpose for me. From what I've read in these forums it looks like the Volts from smokelessimage.com are the best bet for my personal preferences. I'm also interested in switching from pre-filled cartridges to refillable cartridges. Does Smokeless Image have refillable cartridges and e-liquids for their Volt range? If so can you get a non nicotine Marlboro flavor?

Thanks in advance.
Jad

Greetings from Canada! Welcome to ECF!

Check out their website. They sell empty cartosmizers as well as clearomizers. Their "Cowboy" is the American tobacco flavor and "Desert Joe" is a Camel type Turkish tobacco flavor.

I would suggest trying other flavors since many prefer them as an enjoyable Vape and to not be reminded of smoking. I am glad you decided to try vaping rather than being tempted into smoking again.

Relax, Enjoy!

You can refill volt cartomizers and i believe they sell empties and refill liquid as well.

Many people are very happy with the volt. It is a good product. No shame in it :)

On a side note - the volt comes in two battery configurations. The manual and the automatic. the automatic does not require you to press a button but the battery is always "on" and so has a higher drain rate. still some people prefer the automatic. I am assuming your convenience store e cig was also automatic.
it is worth it to consider the manual version though. the battery really will last a lot longer. the battery only drains when the button is pushed. If you are a light or very occassional smoker kind of guy your battery could last you all day. the button is no hassle to use.

Oh wow thanks so much for the discount!

I'm hearing and reading lots of good things about the ego twist. It's not the size I'm after but at the price and quality I'm tempted to get this as well. To me it'd be like smoking a cigar, but with the added ability to drawback. Do you guys rate this unit?

The variable voltage on the Twist allows you to set it to get the particular vape you prefer. Lower voltage produces more flavor and higher more throat hit and and warmer vapor. I have both cig-alikes and Twists. I use and like both but I much prefer the Twists.

The Twist 650 is 3" long while the Twist 1000 is 5" long. Add to this a 3?" cartomizer or clearomizer. Some order both sizes and use the 1000 while at home and the 650 while out and about. Batt info: 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping.

Again, the twist is the way to go. It is the perfect size for carrying around all day, performs awesomely, and it has a decent battery life. Get 2, so you can have one fully charged all the time.
Make sure you get it from a reputable vendor like altsmoke, because there are counterfeits galore...you want the real deal. But, yeah-highly recommended for any and all level vapers.

i switched to volt because they are cheaper while still performing well. If you really are trying to replace or replicate the experience of normal cigarette smoking, just keep in mind that there will always be some stuff that breaks the illusion, like the moments when your battery dies and instead of lighting another cigarette, you have to recharge a battery. Because of stuff like that, ecigarettes will always have a tough job of completely replacing the experience, but they are the best alternative and the models available today come extremely close to the real thing.
