Hi Sally! I've only been vaping for 10 weeks and I use a Vision Spinner 11 (1600 mAH, VV, holds a charge all day)) along with several different glass clearomizers; Aspire Nautilus Mini, Kanger-Minis and Kanger 3. The batteries are around $30.00 (on sale now at CT Vapes for 15% off) and the most expensive tank is the Aspire Nautilus Mini, but I was also able to pick that up on sale. The replacement coils are reasonably priced on all of these.

I find the set-up to be easy for a Noob, very portable, and best of all, it enabled me to put down the cigs. Hope that helps and best wishes in your quest to become a "Happy Vaper."

I have been analog free for about two weeks now and instead of putting money into a starter kit, i done my research and since i was a two pack a day smoker, i wanted to invest in something that wouldn't need recharged every few hours. So i went with the iTaste MVP 2.0 and love it.....from my first vape, i've not looked back and i'm already looking into my next new mod purchase. Just remember, those lower voltage starter kits will require you to charge it more frequently and it's just my opinion that if you can add another $20 or $30 to your new purchase, it would be worth your investment.

Whatever you get make sure it has variable voltage/vv or better both variable wattage/vw.and VV. You can choose one or the other on the setup. When you look at ecigs look at the mah that they show. 100 mah equals about 1 hour of battery use. The mvp has a 2600mah battery I believe so that tells you it will last quite awhile without a charge. If you are a light smoker it could last days. The next step is learning ohms law and how the toppers work on the batteries. Usually the toppers with prebuilt coils are the best to start with. They are kinda plug and play. The biggest thing is to take your chances and get started ....you can learn a lot here.

Thank you so much to everyone for helping me!
So I have spent a lot of time reading here and based on the things that are important to me for now, I have decided on the volt, and then next payday I will start looking into something a little more like everyone suggested so I can have one for home and for out. I live in NC, very analog friendly, so I think all things considered, this is the best bet for me at this time.
Now that I finally made an informed decision lol, I am a bit intimidated by my options. I am thinking the prefilled cartos to start, but I am very intrigued by the refill your own option and would like to maybe give it a try. So if you were new and easily confused by anything more complicated than a toaster lol, what would you recommend? Some blank cartos and a bottle of liquid? Or I see clearomizers? Are they basically the same thing? I think being able to see what I am doing, how much is left etc.would be a plus for me, but I am unsure what the difference is between the two or why it would matter, etc. And if I get a starter kit plus clearomizer do I need something else? Also can I just buy the pre-filled and reuse them later? Naturally the cheapest, easiest option is good for me, but I also don't mind spending extra to get something that works better, is easier to use.

Don't feel bad about being intimidated. I've been vaping for over a year, have gone through countless tanks/batteries, and still feel overwhelmed at times. One of the great things (for me, anyway) about vaping is there's always more to learn/experiment with. I started with Blu disposables before moving onto their starter pack, and from there on to clearomizers. Refilling your tank is a lot less scary than it seems before you've done it. I haven't looked for this specifically, but I'm sure you could find some Youtube videos of people refilling various tanks and replacing atomizers.

If you get a starter kit with a clearomizer and battery the only other thing you would want to get is extra replacement coils (atomizers, heads, there's tons of different names for them) and some liquid to fill it with. Most B&M shops (at least that I've heard about/have been to) are pretty good about getting your first setup going.

Thanks! yeah it is a little more work making the transition than I had expected but I am really loving the cotton candy like taste the vanilla flavor gives. Its a win win because cotton candy and analogs are both wonderful fun and horrible for me lol so the best of both worlds in a replacement. I have been able to cut down to 5-10 analogs a day from 20-25 so that is big and hopefully once I get a set that works better that will be 0

Cutting down more than 50% is great! My transition was a bit forced by circumstance, as I was on a business trip in Chicago where I would have had to pay about $13 - $15 for a pack, wasn't getting paid until a few days after I was there, and did not have enough icky sticks to last me. Instead, I got the disposable Blu for $9 and down the rabbit hole I went!

At one point you'll find "your rig" and you'll forget you ever even used to smoke cigarettes.
