"The distinguishing feature is the shared wall."

Bwahahaha. What's next? Shared street? Shared sewage system? Shared hydro pole? How about shared power plant?

No, no, no, you're overreaching there, it is simply going to be "shared air" all encompassing and final, you are now in the matrix :matrix:

It sounds to me like they are talking about those "vaporizor" devices sold at certain shops which heat up and vaporize dried materials. Those are electronic, and look a little like ecigs, but they do put off smoke instead of true vapor.

Sorry this is wrong plain and simple, they do not produce smoke they produce vapor.
Some are even Heath Canada approved for medical use. ;)

My thoughts:

1. Prepare to move. The place you live sucks.
2. buy the biggest, baddest, highest volume output fog machine you can find on Amazon.
3. buy PG/VG in large quantities.
4. Run Fog machine 24 hours a day. Make sure fog comes out the windows and from under the doors and that there is no way possible that nobody noticed the fog.
5. Vape as much as you want.

I am not a lawyer, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express once.

If you are under a lease, I don't believe they can enforce this drastic of change mid-term. Then again, they are under no obligation to renew said lease (phrase used for lawyer-like emphasis). If you continue vaping in your apartment without becoming exhibitionistic (another emphasis) and they become aware of said activity (this is fun!), you clearly can proclaim ambiguity of authoritative regulatory conditions (wheeeee!) in defense for your actions and any attempts by said authority to terminate your habitation location (OK, I'll stop). Back to reality.

You have a contract with them that they are attempting to alter. Strike one for them. Based on their directive, you are not in violation of their ambiguous alteration. Strike 2. They have to honor their contract or buy you out of it. Strike 3. But start looking for another location. By the time your lease is up and if they indeed intend to go vape free, they will surely have things in order by the time you would need to sign another lease.....if they so desire. If they hold your security deposit for those reasons only, be ready for small claims court. Some states would hit them with double or treble damages for withholding it for those reasons.

Good luck and vape on. And welcome to "the system".

Here is the verbatim amendment to the rules and regulation for the apartment complex where I live: "Smoking of any substance (including the use of devices that stimulate the act of smoking if the device discharges smoke, such as certain electronic cigarettes) is prohibited throughout the project, including the apartments and lanais."

My question for you, dear forum members: Does a typical e-cigarette, like the ego-C which I am currently using, "discharge smoke"? It has always been my understanding that the vapor produced by most e-cigs is not the same as smoke. If this is correct, can anyone here point me to some form of evidence that I could leverage in the event that I am fined for vaping in my apartment once the new amendment goes into effect?

Thank you all!

Reads like according to that no one can smoke meat or any food in their apartment.
If they change it to no vapor then i guess boiling the kettle will not be permitted.

I feel like this suggestion has some plausible points, in the midst of the fog, who's to say what you are doing??? I love it!!!!!!!!!!!

vape.... who cares...

I vape anywhere I want. I recently flew from Japan to Vancouver and back again... And my mod came out so often it was ridiculous.

Granted i did take more trips to the washroom, (But only because I couldnt see where i was dripping) I`ve vaped in my seat. When I am in a place that doesnt allow it or I am not sure, I stealth vape. Same nicotine....
no vapor...

One question, would you vape if it meant evection if caught? okay maybe two...or would you at least vape much more discreetly if you were in the op's shoes?

This is really not an entirely different issue than being a pet owner and trying to rent.

I've had dogs since I was a little girl, and spent many decades finding people to rent to me (esp. since I always have BIG dogs 70+ lbs).

It depends on your attachment to a certain lifestyle. I'd rather live in a teepee on raw land WITH my dogs than not have them ----- they are an integral part of my *lifestyle* that I can't even imagine not having......because dogs in my life are part of my inner happiness.

There are a lot of variables here, one is how difficult it is to find affordable alternative rentals. If you lived in NYC the answer would be "impossible". In other places, if I felt that my inner happiness required vaping on my lanai, and there were other rentals, I would probably vacate the apartment complex. I can't decide for you because vaping for me is not an intregal part of my inner happiness.....in the sense that it is a habit that I CAN quit if I had to, or pursue other forms of harm reduction to get my nicotine.....and I would still probably be happy. :)

Different answers for everyone except that we are on a vaping forum so I would assume that your happiness involves vaping and you do not want to live where you can't do that openly and to your ultimate satisfaction......

I've certainly met my share of people who really seem to hate dogs (even well behaved trained ones like I have) and I imagine there are the same share of people who hate vaping?

Works for me.

"The Zero Blaster uses the same liquid that Hollywood uses in the movies to make special effects fog."
"Zero Blaster [replacement fluid] comes in transluscent red and ships with 3 ounces of Super Fog-Ring Fluid (cherry scent), enough for more than 25,000 fog rings!"

Decisions, decisions...

Im not understanding where the problem is here. Are they watching you via closed circuit television? Just vape in your apartment and not in any common areas. If anyone smelled anything and happened to inquire tell them they are smelling your breakfast you just finished eatting

Perhaps the problem is that the OP should be able to sit and have a relaxing vape outside on the patio. Vaping is not illegal and we have to stop acting like it is.

ETA: I'm not talking about being obnoxious or blowing clouds at the neighbors, I'm talking about use of the patio (lanai) which is paid for in the OP's rent. The OP lives in Honolulu, why should they have to relax inside?

If the OP brought one of those vapor toys outside, you know everyone would think it was cool and want to play with it, yet the toys put out much more vapor than an average vaper.

My daughter's last apartment complex had the same rules..she had me look at it to reassure her it was not aimed at PV "vapor" but more so the "Snoop Dog" crowd's new line of e-cigs. It was a liability issue having tennants with "other electronic cigarettes that emit smoke" 'round the pool, on the patios, hallways, etc.

I'm sure they don't. You are a hobbyist, you are not an average vaper.

You have to stay inside, but you may have some catnip.

Both my cat (midnight, I know...so cliche for a black cat but whatevs) and I PREFER cat nip and large clouds in MASSIVE doses...entertaining for us both :p
