Looks are in the eyes of the beholder.
I prefer using regulated mods which use replaceable external
batteries. With mods like the iStick, the manufacturer chooses the battery cell, and in my experience they don't always know what's the best or safest available. The mods with internal non-replaceable cells use LiPo chemistry batteries. These are not "safe chemistry" batteries, as they are what are often used in remote control cars. These batteries can burst into flames or explode if they go into thermal runaway.
This is why I prefer using external IMR batteries. They are a safe chemistry, high drain, and don't require protection circuitry like ICR batteries do. They may still vent hot gas in failure, but not as dramatically in flames or explode like a LiPo or ICR battery. Just something to consider when making your choices.
In addition, once IMR batteries eventually die, you can just replace them with a new battery and not have to replace an entire mod. IMR batteries require a box battery charger.
There are a number of high wattage regulated mods in tube or box format which accept external IMR batteries.
