What would be the most useful order to display the ingredients in?
  • Sorted by Ingredient name or
  • Sorted by Manufacturer and then ingredient name or
  • Sorted by current ml in stock (ascending/descending?)

I enter my ingredients like this : FA Fresh Cream, VZ Old Captain, so ingredient name would work for me.

All of the above?
Or perhaps exporting to a CSV file to load into a spreadsheet, then we can sort it however we want.

For me, just displaying this would be fine, don't really need a print out.

Sorted by Manufacturer and then ingredient name

Would make it easier to put in an order.

Did you know that when you "Export to Excel" that an "AllIngredients" tab is created which includes the amount in inventory?

I didn't. Can that export be used with OpenOffice? Couldn't afford Excel.

I also use OpenOffice and don't have Excel, so I didn't know either.

I just posted a new version, V4.1.0.2. The changes include:
  1. Added an option to export selected recipes to a new juice file (Tools->Export to juice file).
  2. Added an option to view the current inventory of ingredients (View->Current inventory). When the list is displayed you can sort the list by clicking on the column headers. You can also click the "Print" button and it will print the inventory in the order displayed.
  3. Also added an option to directly print the inventory without viewing it first (File->Print inventory).

I downloaded the program, but the screens are too big, I'm running win7 on a laptop with 1366 x 768 resolution
Any ideas?

thanks
Dave
I can't get my monitors to a resolution of 1366 x 768 but I was able to test using 1024x768 and 1280x1024 and although the windows were large, the windows did fit on my screen. Are you able to grab the sizing border and resize the windows to a smaller size?

Currently I don't have the support for OpenOffice but it has been on my list to investigate.

I did just make available a new version to display the inventory amounts.

The export inventory doesn't matter now (to me anyway). What you just added is perfect. You are the man!

One question I do have is 'Alarm Value' is the Inventory form. What what I was understanding you set the inventory amount that you currently have. You then set the 'Inventory Alarm Threshold' to alarm when it gets to or drops below the specified level.

Tell me if I'm right so far.

If that's correct I'm not sure what the 'Alarm Value' in the Ingredient Inventory form. If it's something I can use I definitely want to use it.

And thanks for the super quick addition!

When you define/update your ingredients you specify how much inventory you have (in ml's) and you specify an alarm threshold (in ml's). If you want alarm messages displayed you go into Tools->Options and on the "Ingredient defaults" tab you check the "Display inventory messages".
After you have performed the above setup, anytime you reduce you inventory amount by clicking the "Inventory" button on the main window you will see a message if any of your ingredients fall below the threshold. Also, when you launch the calculator you will get a message stating any ingredients that have fallen below the threshold.

Note that clicking the "Inventory" button will reduce all of the ingredients in the displayed recipe by the amount of the ingredient being called for in the recipe.

After rereading this the light bulb came on. The "Alarm Value" is the amount left before the alarm activates. Duh.

Thanks.

Yes, I didn't know what to label it but I wanted to show a value that would turn red when the ingredient was below threshold.
Let me know if you can think of something better to label it. Since it is a column header it should be a small label.

Maybe 'To Threshold'. Looks like it may fit. If not It's good.
