Wow Guys,

I was so excited when i got home today from work and saw that my Cartel Stillare V3 had arrived. I have never been in a situation where I had a brand new atomizer and there are no builds online, youtube, ECF, anywhere. So I figured I'd wing it and see what I come up with. Please keep in mind, this build is FAR from perfect, this was a rushed build, I just really wanted to have a Triple Micro-Coil build in this brand new rda.

Again, this build is rushed, I know I can perfect it even further. To be quite honest, cotton in dripping atomizers is not my favorite, I'm an easy sub-ohm vaper, I like dual coils, 3 rotations around .3ohms with 28g Kanthal and 3mm Silica wick. That's what I started on, and it's my go to. I never got on the whole micro-coil for drippers, I preferred just my 5 minute 3-rotation 28g Kanthal build over silica. That being said, I took a look at this device and figured (considering the deck space to work with) a 3-micro coil build over cotton wicks would be a nice littler tester build... so enough blabbing, here are some pics:

Again, coil Nazis, I know it's not perfect, but it's hucking vapor. Shout out to Nick's Organic Wicks too!! pricey, but tastey!
photo 1.jpg

Trimmed the cotton down, probably could have left more. The deep juice well is really, really nice.
photo 2.jpg

Test Fire #1 - not much...... Needed to adjust cotton and micro coils, straighten them out with some *clean* tweezers :)
photo 3.jpg

Test Fire #2.... Got much much better :vapor: Apple Jax over Drippers, all day. Shout out to Epic Juice. Rebuildable Tanks (Kayfuns, Gennys, etc...), I like OMG E-Juice's "..." flavor, Alice in Vapeland's Zombie Apoc...and many others. But through drippers, Apple Jax is soooo solid. Can never go wrong with it. Fly through (2) 30ml bottles every month at least.
photo 4.jpg

All Cartel'd out. Shout outs to Cartel... Now if I can only get my hands on a Copper Cartel Mod, and a Skeleton Key, I think I'd be a happy vaper for awhile. However, right now I'm loving this V3!!!! Review to come on the Orchid Rebuildable Tank (Kayfun Sub-Ohm Edition to come...)
photo 5.jpg

So the "cap" has 3 total air holes, all of which are adjustable. I have them wide open, I'm sure I could close them off a bit. I remember watching RipTripper on youtube talking about the V2 about his only negative on it was that they didn't give him a way to only run single coils... well I disagree with rip, if you're into these devices, let's face it, the single-coil lovers have to be like .0456854% of their market. Buuuuuttttt Cartel did it for Rip and that .0456854% of single coil lovers! You can rock single coils with this and only have 1 air hole open and the other two shut off.

All in all, first time build with no instructions or anything took around 10 minutes. I rebuild drippers and kayfuns all the time, so my advice would be to approach this like a kayfun. Meaning drill bit, micro-coils, adjust the coil by pulsing the battery, and then figure out how you're going to wick it. I'm sure people like Rip Tripper and others will put out an awesome how-to video on this.... One thing to keep in mind if you're thinking about buying one.... if you don't like micro coils, I don't know if this device is for you, this is an evolutionary step forward in vaping. Feel free to ask any questions, I will rebuild it tomorrow using tighter coils, maybe try some nano coils, that could be nice for this device.

Yea, I just looked at Rip's review on a Stillare V2 as kinda like wth... why even mention single coils for that device, obviously Cartel was going for a high-end ballin dual coil dripper (regarding Stillare V2)... and to bring up single coil... was just way out of left field. But, they heard the request and did it! That's pretty awesome. Don't get it twisted, I'm a Rip sub, and a fan, he's on top of his stuff, I wanted to beat him to the punch on this one! :2cool:

I just got my V3 in today from the pre-order and put a single vertical coil in. The first time for a single coil in a Stillare for me! I have a gold plated post V2 and you have to run duals. I just did a single for time sake while cooking dinner, and it is a nice airy vape. This weekend I'm going for a triple vertical build with japanese organic cotton.

The only niggle is that in single coil mode, you have to have the air flow pretty much wide open. There is not enough room between air slots to adjust the single hole smaller really. I like that airy draw, but if you are a single coiler this is a drawback. I also noted the atty is lighter in weight than my V2 and no serial number. It gives the perception, to me at least, of a lower quality feel. Performance wise though it is solid.

Also, you can't close the air holes off completely if putting in your pocket. There is always one open (or more) but the juice well is plenty deep so leaking has not been an issue. I like to close the air holes off when I carry it around so this is another slight negative.

The copper contacts and poles def drop the resistance, and the coil just immediately lights up. I like that. However, I am weary of using copper in an atty for health reasons. It's a thought that crosses my mind, but I'm not that concerned really.

Of course, I will always run this with duals and triple builds but the single build was my first shot so I thought I would share my experience. This is a great atty overall. I'm a fan.

Oh yeah, pulling the cotton through the coil in a vertical position is a bit of a pain, but that's just the way it has to be. It works like a champ with the coil oriented up and down, but I wouldn't recommend it for a new builder. You may get totally frustrated with it. I will post some pics of the build when I get to 3 coils over the weekend…can't wait!

Purchased direct from Cartel on pre-order.

The only reason I did a single coil was for time sake and it vapes great. Now I'm simply adding 2 more 5/6 wrap 26 gauge vertical coils and I will have 3 running, which is for sure what it is designed for. I was pleased how well it vaped with a single coil. It really is a versatile Atty

I saw this up on the Cartel site a week or so ago. Thought hard about buying it.. lots of cool features. There's just too many atties out right now that look more.. interesting? (Dogbone, Hobo, 454, etc.), haha. I can't have em all.!

I'm a single coiler here as well. Don't hate! Get the same vape with twice the battery life if you know what you're doing.

I just put in a 3 coil build with 26g mod wire, 7/6 wrap on 5/64" and it metered out at .28 ohms. I pulled the vertical single coil I had in there out, and given the orientation of the airflow, I felt the vertical coil was too close to the posts. I just went ahead and did a traditional horizontal build like ph0kused did above with japanese organic cotton wick, and it is the best vape I have had from any Stillare. I will leave this build in for a while and then go for 3 verticals next. I am not pulling this out for a while, though. It really is a nice dense, flavorful vape. The horizontals work…you can peer through the air slots and the coils are centered right in front of the airflow. The deck makes it so you can fold the cotton in and cover every bit of the well.

With the older versions, it was harder to get the airflow directly in front of the coils. With this design it just works. When you get one in your hands and build on it, you will see what I mean. It's easier to work with than the previous versions. Well done Cartel!

I busted out my v2.5 today. Hadn't used it lately. I don't care what people have said about the Stillare when it comes to flavor. Put a good rayon build on it and it produces excellent flavor. and yes, it also happens to be a cloud machine. I put a .2 ohm 26g parallel sleeper coil on it. Also used a single piece of cellucotton fed through both coils. Man, that thing was too much for my lungs to handle lol. The flavor was superb. I still think the a Stillare is the most classy looking atomizer.
I prefer single coils which is why I stopped using it. While the v2.5 has single coil AFC, you don't really get what you should out of it by using one. The v3 looks interesting, but I would never use three coils.

Would you mind sharing where you purchased that?

the cartel website - my advice, check it once per week. Also like their facebook, they sell their products via pre-orders only. Sort of like all other high-end mod companies nowadays, you have to get in on a pre-order, pay in advance, and wait a month to receive your goods. IMO they should be doing pre-orders more often.

The cartel brand makes amazing atomizers and mods. If you see a pre-order going on, JUMP ON IT. They fill up FAST. The atomizer Stillare V2 Stillare V3 pre-orders lasted pretty long, about a week before the list was full. Their mod pre-orders on the other hand fill up fast.

I've found after rebuilding the V3 10 times at least that my preferred build method is pretty basic.

I like 7 wraps of 26g Kanthal normal micro coils w/ organic cotton wicks. The other method I like is 7 wraps 28g kanthal, organic cotton wicks. Sometimes I like the 28G micros, get a little better battery life and I don't fly through as much juice.

From my builds, if you're doing 7 wraps of 26g kanthal (3 micro coils) you will come out right around the .3ohm - .4ohm range. Which is really nice!

Keep in mind, with 3 micro coils and cotton wicks, you FLY through juice. So for those wanting to conserve a bit, use like a 28g or a 30g kanthal with 7-8 wraps, you'll be hanging around the .6 - .8 ohm range. You shouldn't burn as much juice.

I rock my airflow wide open. Be careful though, with this adjustable airflow and 3 airholes for your 3 micro coils, juice will spit out of there when you run it in the .2ohm - .3ohm range! But man can you get some crazy clouds going.

How the posts are setup, in a star pattern, I really feel it is SUPER, SUPER easy to do builds. I did one on my lunch break at my desk at work, took around 10 minutes to do everything, including wicking and trimming up the cotton. I'm going to try and use my gopro and upload a youtube video of my build. I'll do a nice slow, informative tutorial. I'll try and do it tonight. I'll post the build video on this thread. This Atty may look tricky to rebuild to some, but 10 minutes for a 3 micro coil build aint bad, especially on a break at work with limited tools!

latest build... same thing really, this is a 28G Kanthal build, 7 wraps. Right around the .4ohm - .5ohm range. Perfect for vaping at my desk @ work :) Clouds are nice with this 28g 7-wrap micro coil x 3 build, but not too overpowering..just in case the boss decides to randomly walk by

Your builds are exactly the same as mine after about 2 months of use...And you describe them perfectly. Thank you for sharing it with everyone. I do go through some juice with this atty but the flavor and the vape, to me, are fantastic. I have the chuff top on mine and also my V2 and that is a HUGE upgrade overall. It mutes the flavor a but and you lose AFC, but man what a diff that "drip top" makes to the Stillare.

My only issue with the V3 is the copper posts and screws. Copper doesn't belong in an atomizer IMO. I wish they had this V3 with good plated stainless like the V2 or just plain surgical stainless. The copper is a health concern. I know it's highly debated, but I still would rather not have the copper in there regardless. It does, however, increase the performance and drops the resistance of your build. Serious cloud atty and I love it. And I'm not a cloud guy, but a flavor junkie. This atty does both and does both well.

Vertical coils really shine on the V3. Cartel recommends a build of 26ga 6/5 Coil. I find that to be perfect. I use Japanese Cotton as a wick. It is finicky with the drip tip. A Cartel drip tip matches it perfectly. Mine is all authentic, but I see no reason a clone wouldn't do just fine. It does fly through juice and has a dinky well. Still love mine.

This thread needs a bump!

Been pondering getting a dripper for a while now. I've whittled the choice down to a few and the stillare is one of them. I've read through all your posts in this thread and found them VERY informative. Thanks guys!

It's been a while now since this thread was started so how's the atty treating you? Any concerns?

Just one question- can someone tell me the measurement from the bottom of the atty to the stillare writting? I'd be running this atty on a chi you megan and the 22mm top cap has a lip. Just want to see if it covers any of the writing on the stillare. Not a big concern in the long run but it would send my ocd into overdrive lol

I'm not sure if I fully understand your concern, are saying your Chi You has a 22MM top cap, or you're concerned that the Stillare V3 has a 22mm top cap?

Please keep in mind from my picture, the Cartel Mod is a 23mm Mod which tappers to 22mil at the top cap. The Cartel Mod's body, or 18650 tube is a bit odd for a mod... my Skeleton Key and my Stillare V3 look so sexy... they are like a match made in heaven in terms of looks, they were made for each other. I just prefer the Cartel Mod's conductivity and lower voltage drop.

skeleStilarev3.jpg

So if your concerns are about looks... I think the SK and the V3 say it all... I will say this after owning mine for like 5-6 months and doing close to 100 builds on it... I do not prefer doing vertical coils in my V3. That's probably because getting the wicks through is a bit of a pain...and I'm lazy. The more pictures people post on here of the stillare V3 plus coil setups + wick setups, the better... we can all learn from one another.

Some people swear by them because of the wicking, and the wicking is notability more "economical" I don't seem to burn as much juice using vertical coils, I have to drip more when using normal micro coils running parallel (three coils using a 1.8mm drill bit)

I stand by Koh Gen Do - Organic Cotton....I will use nothing else but that. My recommendation - get some VTC4's and VTC5 Sony green batteries while you still can! expect to pay $30.00 - $40.00 per battery! Pick some of those up, use 26g G-Plat wire around a 1.6mm - 2.0mm drill bit (6-7 wraps whatever you prefer, I like 7.)

Blue 26g G-Plat - http://www.vaporkings.com/GPlat-coil-wire-by-Vapinology-p/gplat-wires.htm

*If you haven't used G-PLat yet, do yourself a solid and buy a pack, yes it's pricey compared to normal Kanthal, but it burns at higher temps, lasts longer, and is soft as a baby's fill in the blank. The softness of the Gplat and the fact it hits so much nicer is why I buy it...wrapping micros all damn week, 3 coils at a time can be a pain, but with gplat it's like butter.

And maybe like 1000 bottles of OMG's "..." juice in 6mg, because it's like unicorn tears and dragon kisses. So damn good.
OMG E-Liquid ... Strawberry Sour Belt

After all that, you're vaping my daily setup... I fly through a bottle per day of OMG's W.T.F (ECF filters the name of their juice W.T.F), and 5 employees at my company all jumped on the Cartel + StillareV3 train with OMG-... juice... I got sick of having them walk in my office and taking pulls off my vape all damn day.

Oh yea, don't by Japanese Cotton from vape shops, I bought a box of 60 pads, which is literally like 360 wicks for a Stillare for $0.50/pad off this random website, I think it was beauty.com ... they sold the Koh Gen Do organic cotton pads, I was paying $1.00 per pad at my local brick and mortar vape shop... now I only go to my local B&M for 30 bottles of OMG's W.T.F Juice at a time.

looks great. But I think you need to build it lower though to get the most out of it. I would use a thicker wire. Maybe 3 24-gauge coils at 5-wraps. This is how my onslaught is currently built. More coils need more power from the mech, so it will vape better at lower ohms than you are used to using for a dual coil build. That will get hot though if you don't have good airflow in front and underneath the coils. Possibly use less cotton.
