Hi Folks,
Just subscribed, vaping since 2014, had some highs and lows during this period... switching back to smoking and then to vaping again, this time i think for real
Been a fan of mech mods, started with an Ikarus and tried a bunch of quality chinese ripoffs, then got my hands on a Caravela.
Recently got back on vaping full time, but on a DNA40 chip and I love it. Looking forward for the DNA200 and MORE TANKS.
I have this idea in my mind that the vape phenomenon is driven by a gadget mindset. We think our vaping gear is a gadget, and as a gadget need upgrading on a constant basis and quickly we become collectors.
As gear increases, we need more liquids, DIY stuff like coils, maybe a venture in the DIY flavouring and liquid making. Vaping has some of the hacking allure to it, with box mods made of wood, aluminum, plastic, 3dprinted stuff... basically if you have a hammer all you can see are nails! If you know how to make stuff you will try to put some effort in customize your own private vice.
What do you think? Do you feel the urge of trying new builds, new coils, new mods in an effort of improving the quality of the smoke? Are you developing your tasting skills the more you smoke?
Just another quick comment here... I see lots of people starting out asking for questions about pen styled batteries... I went straight on a genesis hybrid skipping the pen styled batteries because i knew what i wanted, i wanted quality, vape density, rebuilding my coils from the day1. In a sense, i knew that if i went for something sub-par or less powerful i might just as well go back to smoking... which I did in the end but that doesn't change the fact that in my opinion you have to start with the best experience otherwise you might end up spoiled!
AND with those models you cannot use the most used and better built 22mm tanks, which not only improve the smoke but also are MUCH more handy in terms of refills and vaping time and flavour. If you buy a pricey liquid, you definitely need to taste it with proper equipment otherwise you will get a less than acceptable experience. To me is just like drinking wine in a tumbler glass.
As a plus, I constantly hear of people smoking those cigarette-like mods with 400-600mah batteries and saying bad things about vaping. OF COURSE! I feel this might be counterproductive for the industry and most importantly will keep those people on a nicotine assumption path that is definitely more dangerous than ours. (says the one who smokes 0-3mg nicotine
Keep vaping guys!
