Hi, I have been vaping for about a year now and I bought a KangerTech subbox Mini. I vape on 0.5ohms coils and every time I purchase a new coil for the first week I use it It gives me such a throat hit that it hurts my lung and I can't even vape. My Juices VP/PG ratio it 80/20 and 6-11nic. What do you guys think I can do.
Thanks in advance

what does it mean to prime your coil
All cotton coils have to be primed well with juice. If they are not primed well the cotton will burn. Once the cotton is burned the burned taste doesn't go away.

To prime the coil, drop 5-8 drops of juice right inside the coil (sometimes less/more depending on the size of the coil head), another drop of juice in all the holes on the side of the coil. Put the coil in the base.
  • If Bottom Filling - Fill the tank and then screw the base back onto the tank.
  • If Top Filling (some tanks are top filled) - Screw the tank on the base and then top fill it.
Once you put the tank on the battery give it several unpowered primer puffs. This will make sure the wick is fully saturated.

yes they do have 1.5ohms i tried it was great but it got burned just after 5 days
What wattage are you vaping? I thought you mentioned 15. If vaping that low, I would definitely use the 1.5 coils. The reason you might have only gotten 5 days from it, is either just a wonky coil or your 80 vg mix is just a bit too thick for the thinner wire coil. If you reduced the vg to 70% , you might get better life from that 1.5. Now if your vaping wattages are much much higher then that, then you may need the .5 coil but it naturally will be a warmer vape. Can you adjust the airflow? If you can open the airflow up, it should cool down the vape.

Consistency in Nic - suggest 6mg/ml
Lower wattage during break-in - First tank or so.

Give the wicking time to fully saturate and start transferring liquid smoothly.

I Build all my coils. Nearing time to replace wicks, I may be vaping near 40w. After cleaning everything up, Clean coil and Fresh wicking - I have to set power around 25w.

Big Difference! and a stronger vape.
