New Darwinian!

Hey!

I just got my email stating that my brand new Darwin is on the way! YIPPEE!

My birthday is on Friday and it is my birthday present to myself.

Any tips or tricks for a newbie Darwinian would be appreciated.

One video said that it takes many hours to charge. Will it be totally charged up when I get it?

I also ordered the 510 to 510 extenders - one sealed and one unsealed as I don't know which one to actually use as I am totally new to vaping. I have the Ego kit and am enjoying it, however, it does have its limitations.

As long as I am getting into this vaping thing I figure that I might as well go for the gusto and get the best.

I am interested in the goosenecks so that I can use a tank on it and still be able to close it. I have not been able to find the smaller one that I saw in a video. I think that it looked like it was only a few inches. So, any info would be great.

Is it true that after a year I can send it in and get a new battery and a new battery warranty for a small nominal fee?

Congrats and happy BDay!! I don't know about the charge on arrival. I think mine was charged, but I didn't mess with it. The rule of thumb is to always do an 8 hour charge with new electronics (mobile phones, tablets, etc) and I applied the rule to the Darwin.

The gooseneck didn't work well with my torpedo tank. The whole thing was very awkward and way too top heavy with the tank filled. No problem if you are at home, but not much fun to mess around with elsewhere. This is purely IMO of course.

Sealed or unsealed 510 connector doesn't really make a difference. My Darwin came with a 510 to 510 on the arm already, so getting a little juice into that seems like not a big deal. However, since you have both I'd say use the sealed one.

The Darwin thread would be best for tips and tricks, but I would advise to get a drip shield if you are going to do any dripping.

I think the battery change fee is $25.

Have fun! I definitely agree that the Darwin is the best overall mod out there .

Edit: Oh the gooseneck shorty you can custom order it from Cheryl. Just email her and ask for a gooseneck in the length you want. I just got the 3.5" one. Its not long. The problem I found wasn't the length but the awkwardness when vaping and the weight of it on the bendable thing. Others seem to do tanks finw with it though, so it could just be me.

What length would you suggest? I just want it to bend out enough so as to accomodate the tank when turned off. I think the shorter the better.

I'm thinkin' that this is gonna be my go visitin' favorite. It seems that it is a no muss no fuss unit.

No they don't! FTFY means "Fixed That For You", usually someone will quote someone else and change a little bit of their quote/pic to make it funny/sarcastic/gross/whatever. In this case:

Welcome to the family
your on the right path with getting the 510 to 510 adapters. You can charge and vape while its connected to the charger kinda like a passthrew its still charging but a full 8 hours charge is best. And happy birthday!!
Also what ever atomiser or carto you use when you put in the off position make sure it don't hit the fire button other than that its just trial and error till you find what's best for you
