A couple thoughts from my own struggle:
-If you have a few cigarettes, don't tell yourself that you are "smoking again." Tell your self that you only had a few cigarettes.

-Get some nicotine lozenges. I can get them with 4 mg nicotine. If I get the urge for a smoke, I make myself take one of them and chew it up. The rush of nicotine cancels the urge to smoke and then before that goes away, pick up your vaper and get going.

No Leon, your mother is wrong. You :censored:ed up your lungs from smoking, not vaping. I don't know what it's going to take to get you to quit smoking. Maybe this pic of a man on oxygen using an inhaler will help.

And if that pic doesn't help him, maybe this video will.

There are much scarier videos...

Continued to smoke and barely touched my mod.

Today I have had 17 cigs since getting up, and have found that ElfBar that mother said something fell off the table and she did not know what it was.

I have been using it since 18:00 today and still coughing and going out of it.

But not as much as when I am smoking.

Its smooth 20mg is ok as it is salts. And still digging the banana and strawberry flavour.

I think I might have my second DVT.

Since four weeks ago I had a pain in my groin and thought nothing of it.

Until last night when I phoned 111 service and was asked to go to the hospital.

I then had my legs measured and the bad on was nearly 6cm bigger than my fine leg.

Need to go back tomorrow for a scan.

Had my last cig at 16:15 and vaping 24mg freebase nic with banana.

    Had the juice years

I know it is wrong to still be smoking if having a lifelong dvt, but I just cannot seem to get passed not smoking.

I will try my hardest to vape only, but when you have an addiction to cigarettes and it has been your life doing the same thing you do daily, it is like killing somebody you have always known.

Granted, if you had been growing up with parents who smoked, is like you will eventually smoke anyway.

I don't know if this will be worth anything, but my vaping journey began when a vascular doc told me that he'd meet me at the hospital after scheduling an emergency surgery. His words, I'll never forget:

"I'm going to do my best to not cut your right leg off at the knee."

I've been vaping for whatever now, 10+ years, and have been on Warfarin for just as long. I will do both for however many days remain in front of me.

My limbs, thanks to that switch and that amazing doctor, are intact (knocking wood).

Wow, DP, that is quite a wake up call.

    ...

Yeah... That's the kind of sentence that is Hard to Forget.

It's a Shame that we as Smokers couldn't have felt the Same Way, as I'm sure you did when You did when you heard it, when we Started Smoking.

People Told me Not to Start Smoking. But when one is Young, sometimes they feel Bulletproof. And when your sitting in the waiting room at an Oncologist you realize that maybe if You had listened more carefully, you might not be sitting where you are waiting for what could be Very Bad News.

At 13ish years old, circa 1974, I couldn't have cared less. It was WAY too much fun stealing or getting smokes to care.

To your point, how little we knew (or cared). I'm just REALLY GLAD that vaping was taking off exactly at a time when I needed it in my life. The Golden Years of Vape, for sure. :thumb:

FWIW, I started vaping in 2010 to try and quit smoking. 24mg juice was about right for my 2 PAD cigarette habit. By the end of my first week vaping 24mg juice I was convinced that vaping was going to satisfy my nic habit. I was still smoking a cigarette in the morning and after meals.

I decided to finish my last pack and vape instead of buying more cigs. From that point on, vaping satisfied my need for nic. It wasn't long before I tapered down to 3mg juice and that's where I have been since I quit in 2010.

I know I should not be smoking with an Deep Vain Thrombosis but I just cannot stop.

My leg is slowly returning back to normal and I am feeling better in myself.

I am on limited funds and smoking should be out off the question but when you are addicted like me you would see what I have to endure with my family.

I know someday I will quit smoking but not now.
