So I am a new e-cig user, I skipped a lot of the new user steps in the process but I can say that using a PV has stopped me smoking and seems to be working so far. I am using a Silver Bullet with a 5.5ml j-tank and love it so far.

My question is about public usage of e-cig/PV's. I got this email at work and have experienced this just about everywhere I go and haven't really found reliable information for a counter argument of some sort. Can anyone provide some resources for non-bias test results to counter what the FDA has been posting.

"If you are going to smoke them please do it outside while on your break or lunch.

The data on e-cigarettes is not as extensive as its predecessor and we cannot be entirely sure of the affect of secondhand vapor on individuals in this closed environment. The FDA recently published information about e-cigarettes after testing two of the leading brands and their findings were not encouraging. While this may not be the case for all e-cigarettes we have to take the stance in the call center that provides the best environment for everyone."

If my employer or my fellow workers were worried about it, I would just vape outside like the smokers. I'm trying to enjoy my nicotine without killing myself and don't want to make others uncomfortable. Fortunately the people I work with are overjoyed that I've quit smoking and think the e-cig, especially my new eGo, is very cool.

I think if we want more acceptance we need to be sensitive to other's concerns.

There's a difference between being respectful and just lying down and letting "ignorance" define vaping. No one should lose their job over vaping, so you have to submit to your employers rules. But taking a progressive stance to provide real facts that counter their "ignorance" is the best approach. If we act like vaping is the same as smoking, then that is how it will be perceived. I think providing them good information that supports that vaping is NOT smoking is a good approach. You may not be able to change their perception, but doing nothing and just "going along" will definitely not change their perspective.

...my wife is a nurse...the hospital where she works is enacting a total ban on smoking anywhere on campus(which drove us to ecigs in the first place)...they stated, the rules on using e-cigs were still being decided...she printed up 5 copies of the CASAA legislative packet to give the rule making committee so, whatever rule they made would not be made in ignorance or from mis-information...the verdict is still out but, she has high hope......

I see nothing wrong with vaping anywhere infact i took my ego-t to disney last month and didn't have anyone say a single word (probobly the lack of smokey smell that usually has people looking around saying horrible things about rude smokers). But work is work and if your employer puts rules in place you just abide by them. I credit vaping with my quitting smoking and love the vape but it's just not worth causing a big stink about at work. How much effort is really involved in going outside?

I guess it would all depend on who you are and your ability to keep yourself on the straight an dnarrow. I love mine and haven'r vaped a tobacco flavorin more than a week. Be strong my friend, Be like water and fill the space you're in, Don't let the space you're in control you.
