Okay, I've been researching E-cigs for a few days now and I am almost as confused as ever. I have been to a number of websites who seemingly sell one brand of E-cigarette. What makes this more confusing is all of their reviews seem to be extremely positive (fishy). Anyway, I FINALLY stumbled across this forum and have been trying to find not only the right E-cigarette to buy, but the right place to but it as well. I'd like to get something that works for me without a huge investment trying numerous brands.

I'm a college student who almost always has access to some form of outlet or power source, so battery life is not a huge issue to me. I smoke around 12-18 cigarettes (Parliament Lights) a day.

I would suggest the 510 from cignot.com $35 gives you 2 batts, 2 attys, 5 carts (prefilled with marlb, not great in my opinion, but it vapes :) ) and a wall charger for a single batt. The 510 is rather easy to get the hang of and replacement parts are available on several sites on the internet. Then you can get about 14 bucks in small liquid 5 ml to try out a few flavors and qualify for free shipping. If you end up loving the 510 like I did, you'll probally want a 2nd starter kit to have backups shortly, but this would be your cheapest inevestment.

I would also recommend a cart mod... I have only used the pyramid tea bag mod and I would recommend it, it is easy.. give it a search on youtube, takes no time at all and gives you better vapes imo... also makes refilling easier.

From there you may want to look into a PCC, which yesterday cignot was out of, but another site may have them. It allows you to charge it and then charge one batt while you use the other. And madvapes is now out of 5v passthroughs... that's something to look into as well

Thanks for the recommendations! Can someone explain the difference between the manual batteries and the automatic?

manual batteries have a manual switch on them that you press to activate them. automatic batters are activated by suction or vacuum--whichever way you would like to think of it.

I just got my first manual battery last week and i ended up liking it a lot more than automatic, but i guess its a matter of preference really.

automatic (correct me if I'm wrong)is activated by using the tip of the cart and manual is done by holding in a button. Most people on here tend to go for the manual. You get more control over it. Some have said automatics go off because of loud noises near them. I went on the safe side and took the majority of recommendations and went with manual. If you're getting a starter kit and really want to try out automatics you could get one of each.

edit: I guess I type slow too =/

I personally recommend the manual battery also. More control and you don't have to risk taking a super long deep inhale and popping the atty.

Auto deep inhale = Has a certain cutoff point?(or does it stay on)?
In either case. Either it gets too hot on a long pull or it shuts off. Can someone kindly confirm this for me ?

Manual Deep inhale = You can press the button start a slow steady inhale, let go of the button for a second to keep the atty from getting too hot, and then press it again. It can keep it at a more consistent temperature for even vaping, and (IMO) recudes the likely hood of popping the atty.

cutoffs on autos depends on the type of battery and who you get it from. a lot of the older style auto and manuals were 5 second cutoffs, but now a lot are both 13 second. 13 is longer that most people could even inhale for, so either way its more than sufficient. and as to how hot it gets, well that depends on your setup (carto or atty/cart), voltage, and how heavily you use your PV.

But the control over the atty getting hot on a manual is a good point, whether your talking about 2 or 3 piece setups. I personally dont worry about it, if it gets too hot i'll sit it down for a bit. If i'm gonna take a hit off my PV i'm gonna hit it the way i want to without worrying about the atty/carto heating up until after i've exhaled. Thats just me though.

if you are spending a lot of time by a computer anyway I recommend your first purchase be a KR8088 USB bypass from someone like V4L. With cartomizors included you can try it out for around $25, which is a cheap start. And if you find you like it you are going to want a USB sooner or later anyway.

I searched for the KR8088 on google and didnt come up with anything.. Can you explain?

I'll second this, very easy and inexpensive way to get started. You can follow my sig to get to the V4L site. Their Parlement flavor is also very good.

I also am very new to this... Went cold turkey 4 weeks ago from 20+ a day. Then when filling up car at petrol (Gas) station saw advert for the Ruyan Jazz classic Ecig. Well it was either that or 20 smokes (After 4 days cold turkey). Problem is it just looked like a tampon, but hey did the trick lol. Vaped on that for a week or two then ordered a cheap disposable (Looked like a ciggy but never performed well). Finally I ordered a 510 with some juice (WOW what a difference) completely satisfied with it, works well, great throat hit and reasonable battery life. My advice for a newbie, get a good variety of juice I kind of put in a few drops of this and that to keep it different, but I always did smoke different varieties!!! 4 weeks today smoke free!!! Not going back!!

Passthroughs are a good idea if you spend time on a PC or near a wall power outlet. You can get a USB/AC adapter plug that wont fry your motherboard.
Cignot sell a very basic model for the Joye510 (think its around $22) and theres a higher voltage one you can get at electronicstix.
You can also buy battery 'mods' which are basically longer lasting (and some also higher voltage) batteries.
The 510 batteries suck bottom - but they do recharge quiet fast.

Lanndo - marlb high from cignot (pre-filled carts) is 24mg afaik.
