Hello ECF, I've been reading a lot of posts on ECF since I first started using e-cigarettes with an eGo-T starter kit. Since then I bought myself 2 lavatubes (black and stainless steel) and have primarily been using carto tanks (found my favorite carto to be the 1.7ohm Resurrector), but recently I got interested in dripping atomizers and I bought a set of Cisco SR306 (2.5ohm) attys, universal drip tip, and an empiremods drip shield.

On the lavatube around the 4.5-5.5v range, the SR306 was good, sure, but I haven't gotten the vape-changing experience that people seem to associate with dripping on LR306 atomizers. The vapor I was getting just wasn't as warm as the resurrector cartos and the flavor was just about on par. I've heard people mention that they got great flavor on LR306s, even on the inhale, and I assumed (maybe wrongly) that since I have a VV device, if I just bought SR306s and turned up the voltage, I could still get good, warm vapor with longer life. Was my assumption wrong? Would there be that much of a difference if I get LR306 atomizers instead of the SR306s?

Thanks in advance for any advice you could provide. ECFs been a great resource for me so far.

Your SR 306s will give you just as good a vape at the higher voltage. Your assumption was correct.
I've been using the Ikenvape i06, 3.5 ohm dripping attys for a while now on my Lavatube. They have plenty of heat, but I really prefer the flavor of the V2 Cannons, which are based on a 901. I think the 306s actually are too hot and wash out the flavor a little. A LR 306 would only be worse. They're not bad, but you won't be gaining anything by going to a LR.

Welcome to dripping... I assume some may have converted from carto's to dripping with a 306, but it seems most started out on a 510, then moved to 306 for a more sort of "in your face" kind of experience. I merely found, like sailor, that the 306 (LR) was typically harsher, maybe a bit more vapor production.
From there I went to an LR 901, and with the VV's I stuck with SR 901's.
You owe it to yourself to try them all, including the i06, which is a combo of 510 and 306 design and vape.
This is what the 901 is touted as:
a combo of; the vape of an 801 (which is lots of flavor and vapor, but less heat and t/h), and some of the t/h of a 510; in other words the best of both worlds. I agree. 901 is cooler than a 510 (or 306) and warmer than the 801.
You'll need an adapter for it to fit a 510 connector.

I did stick with 901's for a year. They're not the most popular (nor the 801), because many say they leak too much from the side hole. That happens if you over feed it, which = a less than satisfactory vape. Worse than underfeeding imo... both are bad but at least you can add more vs. having to blow out a flooded atty.
Now I prefer HH357 which is a $23 atomizer... why? FLAVOR. I like the 901 HH357 more than the 510.... better flavor again.

ymmv.

Thanks for all the responses! I was about to buy some LR306s to try but from your replies I think I'm going to forgo them in favor of something else. I've been wanting to try some stuff from ikenvape for awhile but the store is still down. I'm hoping it's coming back online soon.

Initially the HH357s caught my eye but I was afraid to take the plunge into such an expensive atomizer headfirst. But if the flavor of the 901 HH357s are that good, I want to try it. I used to always want as much vapor as possible, but the more I vape, the more I just want better flavor. Good vapor is always a plus, but nothing beats getting to taste yummy ejuices.

ask for a V2 HH357 when you order... they are switching over to V2 soon, which is a better draw factor than V1... easier to vape as it's more like the draw of a conventional atty. Oh man, you are going to be spoiled...
But like i said, for the price of the atty, just use a 3.7 mod and get the 1.5 Ohm LR 357... can't beat it anywhere. What i mean is you don't need an expensive VV for the LR's.
