The only Efest battery I would use (I have two) is the purple 18650 2100mAh, but only because I know it is a re-wrapped Sony VTC4. Therefore, regardless of what Efest claims, it is a 30 amp battery.

The other purple 18650 Efests are either LG or Panasonics. Efest chooses to advertise "pulse" discharge limits :nah:, not "continuous" discharge limits :thumb:, which are generally considered more reliable and an industry standard. FYI, Efest has often exaggerated the specs of all if their batteries. As far as I know, Efest only re-wraps other manufacturers batteries, so I would assume the 38 amp claim to be a fallacy.

Chipotle.
38a, what an odd number to pull out of the air.

" just add 3 more and people will assume its better"
I'm going to assume that they're trying to compete with Imren, who is also overstating specs using the 38A rating on their wrappers. Part of me is wondering if these type of batteries are all re-wrapped by the same huge overseas company...

you can find generic manufacturers who produce cells with no real brand name. I suspect many batteries use these companies.
As well as AW themselves.

We use a small circle of batteries but for years and years many other companies have been on the market, they got to come from somewhere.
On several eu vape shops i see many i have never heard of or see here..

I highly suspect many of these newer cells are coming from AWT and rewrapped. Heck MXJO doeant even change the whole wrapper, just replaces AWT with MXJO.

I really want to like them, its not often a battery comes with a 12 month warrantee, and the company profile is semi impressive. But no one seems to take the time to test their cells, they claim to make a 40/60 amp cell but i cant find any tests

The real problem is everyone is starting to rate their batteries withthe pulse rating. So technically they arent lying. Their just not telling you the whole story.

Even with the best cells and amp ratings while they may be able to run at 30 amps plus it really is no benefit as the voltage drop above 20-25 amps is horrendous and vapors who think they really are pulling the correct voltage from 25-30 amps are kidding themselves

This is the real reason we have dual cell box mods, even the mod makers know you aint getting no 30 amps across one cell for more then 5 or so minutes. So they pull up the bs of oh oh much safer across two cells. That way each cell never crosses approx 20 amps and can actually function

I have been dealing with the folks over at Liion Wholesale, who have done some testing on the Efest 38A Battery. Results so far are that it is very similar to the Sony VTC4. He's also said that in recent testing of the Efest 30A 18650 which was once a rewrapped VTC4, Efest is no longer using the VTC4 cell for this battery.

I went ahead and ordered 4 of the Efest 38A 18650's... If they are comparable to a VTC4, I'm quite alright with that, especially at their price point. I don't realistically imagine they have a 38A continuous discharge rating... But I would believe a 30A continuous discharge with a 60A pulse.

They are claiming 38A Continuous with 60A pulse...

Either way, it looks like a more honest marking than only stating the pulse rating, which seems to be the popular thing to do these days. That said, I think we all would have called their bluff if they had said this was a 60A battery...
