Hi there, I want to thank every one that has contributed to this thread. All the information (and especially Cozz's very thorough videos) convinced me to order the eGo-T atomizer from Totally Wicked. Here are my conclusions on the eGo-T after a week of extensive use.
The first is that the EGo-T atomzer works very well when used as it was designed to be used. That is, on a standard (well 900 mah) eGo battery. It produces a slightly cool hit with good vapor and good taste. I tested it with Boba's Bounty (a thick 100% VG) and it still wicked ok. That said, I have found that it does wick better with a juice that contains at least some proportion of PG. Presently, I am using Mrs T's Bluebeery Cheesecake and it wicks just fine. In the week that I have had the it I have not experienced any leaking, nor have I really hit any dry spots/burning tastes.
However, at least for me, the eGo-t will not replace dripping. I get better vapor production and better taste from dripping than from an eGo-T. However, at least for me, dripping is not really practical outside the home, so that is where I will be using my eGo-T.
Prior to recieving the eGo-T I used a combanation of cartos and Phidias bottom feeder when outside my house.
So the question for me was how does the eGo-T stack up against those two
vaping methods?
I love the look of my Phidias, it is a beautiful example of the wood workers art. If you put an Iken LR 306 atty (2 ohm) on it it is an excellent vape. Maybe it is me, but even after 3 months I still struggle to get a consistent feed from the bottom on it, and I end up pulling the atty so I can drip from the top to keep it firing well.
To me the best iteration of cartos to date is the MAP tank from Clouds of Vapor. The Map tank when combined w/ a ProVari dialed in to the correct voltage is a pretty damn satisfying vape. Very rarely, and only when chain
vaping, I get a little bit of the dreaded E2 burned/metallic taste from it. In most cases it is a superior vape than the Ego-T though.
The problem is that it is is a pretty massive, science project looking, contraption, not exactly something that you can slip into your shirt pocket. This is true to some extent of the Phidias also. While beautiful, it is a fairly bulky wooden box that looks a bit odd to be sucking vapor out of.
This is the area where the eGo-T really shines; it is small, light and inconspicous. You can slip into your shirt pocket and forget about it. When I use it is very consistent, it gives a nice, flavorful vape from the begining of the tank to the end. It takes about a minute to refill the tank, wipe it down and pop it back in.
I guess what I am trying to say is that, for me, the eGo-T is the solution to
vaping when I am out and about that I have been looking for since I started vaping. It is easier to use and carry and produces a more consistent satifying vape than any other method that I know of mobile vaping.
