Two quick questions.

1) When you put in your tank do you have to line up the mouthpiece so the ridges on the side of the tank align with the air slots on bottom of atty?

No.

2) How do you know when your tank is empty. Bottom half of the tank is blocked by atty cone, can't see down there. Do you wait for dry hits or just pull the tank out every once in awhile and check?

Either way will work.. but personally I use the fully "transparent" tanks (not the black tipped ones) so checking the liquid level is easier.

UPDATE!

i'm fine with 2.2 tank atomizers but...
people liking hotter and a more aggressive vape will be happy to know that a 1.8 ohm LR tank atty version is coming out soon!
i'll grab one to check no doubt :)

there's a short video HERE

that's the Tornado-t branded but an Ovale and Joyetech should be released as well.

its about TIME for the LR. I vape 2.0 ohm on my reogrand because it's true 3.7v vaping as opposed to 3.4-3.2v vaping on the tornado batteries. I'm still on my first attie and havent fired up the 2nd atty yet...i'm really enjoying them and i've easily hit over 100 refills on the 1 atty. No burnt taste for me. 1.8 ohm will be nice and little bit hotter which I enjoy.

Also, i put my atties in vinegar for a few hours to clean them. I havent heard anyone mention that...I've been doing that for about 2 years now....anyone disagree? I put them in a shot class, vinegar and water, let them sit for a few hours, i take them out, wash them really well (pressure wash with a syringe and drip tip, custom made) and then i let them dry. IT's been ok for me and i have no leftover vinegar taste....is the vinegar helping you think? I figure we use vinegar in coffee pots to remove nasty residue, I thought it would help on the atties...I haven't had one fail on me yet in 2 years. I'm using LR 2.0 ohm, and LR 1.5 ohm and they seem to be clean after I do the vinegar soak and let them dry.

A lot of people use vinegar and are very happy with the results. As long as it's not balsamic vinegar..

I reccomend not ordering from thehouseofvapor.com. I'm in CA and ordered 2 ego T atties and T carts (2) days ago! My order has not been processed or shipped. I'm F*ing mad!. Ok, they get maybe 1 day credit due to the snow. My anger quickly turned to impatience and I ordered 1 Atty and 1 Cart from ecigsupply.com and within an hour I got an email saying my order was packaged and ready to be shipped. Can't beat that with a stick. These products are so small and easy to pack when in stock, there's no way it should take 2 days to send out an order. They won't get my business ever again.

So I put my foot in my mouth. I gotta rescind my negative house of vapor review. Stupid usps dosent update their site with tracking info. Useless. I emailed house of vapor and it shipped the day after I ordered it. My bad on that one. I'm just itching to get my stuff. I'm going crazy. I got a juice order coming to as well as 3 tank attys and 2 tank cart orders. If I had hair I'd be pulling it out. I'm vaping my emergency menthol juice and I'm not a happy vaper. My next paycheck I'm going to order $100 worth of diy stuff so I don't have to go through this again. Sadly I know better.

Pur, the "tracking" number we get with our packages is not really tracking info, it's delivery confirmation. I talked with the folks at my PO and they told me that they don't really "track" those packages, they scan them, on ond off, but it's not real tracking. Just FIY.

Vinegar (acetic acid) is used to clean coffee pots, tea kettles, etc. primarily to remove limescale / water spotting due to buildup of dissolved calcium and magnesium in water (this is what causes water "hardness" and is also added in trace amounts to purified bottled water to simulate "spring-like" water flavor). Acids dissolve metal, but acetic acid is relatively weak (pH ~3) so it doesn't do any real damage under short exposure...more like a mild etching for a good cleaning. Nevertheless, I would be very reluctant to ever use an acid to clean attys...an alcohol does a better job of dissolving the buildup from juice and is harmless to the components in an atty (except for the exterior finish...soak a black atty for a week and the finish will peel off). Do what works for you, but hot water rinsing, an alcohol soak and some dry burning will get the job done. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps!

This is what I have been hoping for, this thing screams for more voltage or lower resistance. I am ok with the 2.2 on the Riva, but the draw is a tight unless you make the air notches larger as Scottbee did.

Ok had just ordered and got in my new ego recently but i am convinced, i have to give the tank set-up a try. I only have to get plenty of juice, the tank atomizer and tanks if I am correct. Cignot looks good to me but am going to visit shamus@ unsmoke.us who is the one who sold me my eGo and check on prices there. I'm very excited. I'm also looking at buying juice feeder *box* from old goat as well. Been messaging him back and forth and I only have to decided on the color.

An interesting observation:

I had one of my "newer" T-atties develop a "leak". Once it got down to about 1/4 tank, it would piss the rest of the contents right through the atty. And this is a problem that came with time.. it didn't do it when it was new.

A good cleaning didn't fix the problem (alcohol, water, etc..)... but when it came time to do a good dry-burn I notice something. Looking down through the piercing needle I could clearly see the glow of the coil through a "hole" in the wick. It was a straight-thru shot.. with an off-center hole of about .015" in diameter.

I went down into the piercing needle with a sewing needle, and re-positioned and "fluffed" the wick, just like I had done with my first eval atty. I tested my work by doing another dry-burn and looking for the coil glow. No longer a "direct path", although you can see a translucent glow through the needle/wick.

Problem solved.. no longer a "leaker".

Note: this is just an FYI data point.
