I don't know if it's better but it's a lot cheaper than a Provari. I'm getting one for between $55 and $65 from a co-op and it comes with a battery. Provari, batteries and a charger are over $200. I think the eVic screen looks cool. I like that you can plug it into the computer and share data with the software. Plus it's VV and VW. Provari is only VV.

I'm not sure I understand the hype that seems to be building around the eVic. Is it actually better than the Provari? I could see it, in that case, since the eVic seems to be a little less expensive. What am I missing with regard to this device?

Not even close to being better, cheaper though.
Most people that own an Evic do like them though, all that counts.

The competition is hotting up. Yes indeed the Provari is the current "Rolls Royce" of vaping BUT it is way outdated in this fast moving market. VW is a must these days if you want to stay up with the tech. The Evic V1 is decent with the updates but it is fragile. Having said that please be aware of these attractive enhancements :-

EVIC STÅL TUBE SQUARED 18650

and Beware of the Dwarf

eVic Telescopic SS Body – bOd E-rokok2u

These two enhancement tube sets make a huge difference to the Evic sturdiness and overall look and feel.

The other latest product out there in the Zmax, Vamo, Evic, Gripper, Groove space is the latest offering from Innokin which also looks really nice - the Itaste SVD Innokin iTaste SVD, Best Tube Style Variable Wattage E-Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin

And if you really want to get up to date in the "Bugatti" class look at Svoe Mesto from our Russian friends. Ìîä «SvoeMesto» v.2.0 - Svo¸Mesto Expensive but I would say way better than a Provari (which I own).

Pros vs provari

It's a $100 dollars less than of any provari color besides satin set up for 18650.
It has a better screen with more useful info displayed
You don't need to enter a menu to change settings
You don't need a separate battery charger
It can be made an 18350 device with an 8 dollar battery tube
There are an increasing amount of cools things you can put the control head on

Cons vs provari

It has a lower power limit
It's less accurate (neither are any of the other china VV/VW devices)
It's not built as well

Hope this helps

I'm happy with mine as is. I vape around 7w and usually with standard tanks/clearo on the go. Any updates will just be icing on the cake and a newer version isn't on my wish list.

yeah I also just purchased an evic, for use with clearo's and tanks, for which the power limitations of the device are not relevant, it's a great device imo. also with all the different tubes and bodies coming out you can get for example a great vw stealth vape out of it.
so far i'm really enjoying it

The original was screw-on also. The actual top cap (that holds the 510 connector) is press-fit.

I got a private message from someone who can't post yet with pics of a replacement control head. There appears to be tow small Phillip head screws. Let me see if I can transfer the pic .....
ok, so was up with that?
