Glad you are having such a good experience so far! Keep us updated!

I'm a new Halo customer, just got my G6 kit in the mail this morning. Yay! Been happily vaping now for several hours.

The SubZero flavor is certainly nice. Very strong menthol taste even at 12 mg strength. I like it quite a lot, but it probably won't become my go-to vape. If you're familiar with the Menthol Ice the sensation is very similar, but the menthol taste is much more pronounced, as is the crisp sensation in your lungs which lingers for sometimes even a few minutes. Most pleasant, would probably be really good for those days where vapers have a 'tasteless' day perhaps, or if you're congested/sick. Some may like the more powerful taste as a go-to vape, but I think I'll likely be keeping it around but not as a primary more as a treat or a wake-me-up.

Personally, I liked the more toned down but still frosty Menthol Ice flavor, but the SubZero is without a doubt very tasty and will likely keep a place in my future lineups.

On another note there was a poster who mentioned that he was mixing a few drops of SubZero to some of the tobacco flavors such as Prime 15 and Torque 56 with very pleasant results. He mentioned it was a pretty close match to Marlboro Smooths. Worth a future try and a suggestion for you guys who prefer the Smooths to try out.

Off topic and Caveat:
I'm a new vaper, and haven't taste tested much yet but so far all 3 of your Halo flavors I have tried have been quite, quite satisfactory. Very pleased. And I still haven't killed my first battery after a couple hours of vaping. So glad for a cig-a-like version I purchased this unit. Kudos Halo, and you've definitely earned me as a future customer. Rapid shipping and 3/3 tasty juices means I'm a pretty happy puppy with you guys from the start. Keep it up! Looking forward to experimenting with your other flavors in my sample pack and playing with some mixing. Should have ordered a few more blank cartos....fixing that now. And getting more SubZero while I'm at it.

Taste is really subjective, as many times as I'm sure you have already heard that. We have people that use the juices straight out of the mail box and love them and say they don't change at all even after months. We also have people that steep them for anywhere from a few days to a few months and say they are like night and day after steeping. It's really just a matter of personal preference. If you like a juice use it and after a few days it might even be better, if you hate it give it a few days or even a few weeks and try it again before you completely count it out!

How much of a flavor change in some of these can I expect after steeping for a few days or so?

Dramatic in some cases, subtle in others? Stronger mixes changing flavor or darker colors getting a more powerful taste? I've read you guys have complex flavors to your juices and I can certainly see that with the HX3 especially.

Any thoughts on SubZero so far?!

Okay, you asked for it :) Just remember that taste is subjective, the experience is impacted by the type of equipment used, yada yada

I tested about 4ml of Subzero in my G6 before posting this (wasn't willing to put a clearo at risk with an unknown quanta of menthol).

Subzero is the first juice that I have ever tried that has a transitional characteristic: as I start drawing a puff, the flavor is a definite spearmint very similar to the "Spearmint Leaf" jelly candies that used to be sold in theaters. As I get to the actual inhalation, the flavor blends with menthol starting to come through. At the point of exhalation, the spearmint has almost totally disappeared and replaced with pure menthol -- it now tastes the way that menthol crystals smell. The effect of the menthol is very apparent with the entire mouth experiencing a strong feeling of coolness.

Using it in my G6 produced a surprisingly large amount of vapor.

The viscosity is thin enough that I believe it can be used any type of delivery device -- cartos, tanks, clearos, etc. Do please remember that menthols can have a negative impact on many delivery devices. YMMV

I suspect (but do not know for sure) that this juice would be spectacular using a VV or VW with large variations in the flavors and transitional effects as the wattage at the head changes.

I do have 2 negatives to report: 1. There was an impact on my sense of taste with food and drink tasting a bit "off". 2. After vaping, my lips had a sensation of having something on them similar to the feeling you get if your wife is wearing lipstick when you kiss her. Both of these effects seem to pass about 15-20 minutes after stopping vaping.

Because of my particular flavor preferences, this will never be an all-day vape for me but it will be a rotational item when I'm looking for a break.

I find I'm liking the SubZero quite a lot for an at-work vape, where I only have a few minutes here and there to sneak a quick vape. I used some other Halo flavors and didn't find quite as much satisfaction for the 'quick puff' style of enjoyment. SubZero is probably going to be a regular order for me for that reason, as menthol isn't offensive to other folks, the vapor didn't really have a noticeable smell that my co-workers could identify, and it was more satisfying for the "I've only got 2 mins to vape a few puffs" situation. I've found at home I prefer the milder flavors, but do enjoy swapping out the SubZero carto to 'refresh the palette' so to speak.

One other thing I've noted of interest: I've had a bit of on again off again congestion the last few days, fighting off a cold. I woke up yesterday morning and my nose was mostly blocked. So I sat at my desk, had a few puffs or 10 of SubZero and exhaled mainly through my nose. That sure worked to open up my sinuses! Followed up with a hot shower and deep breathing afterwards I was good to go for a little while till I started blocking back up again.

The initial sensation is sharp, very pronounced and noticeable. I didn't peg the spearmint just very strong menthol primarily while holding the vapor in my mouth. After about a second or two, the flavor changes more like wintergreen to me and grows quite cool. Exhaling through the nose especially leaves a nice minty cool sensation in the back of the throat and to a lesser extent the nose. This chill feeling lasts for several minutes sometimes and is quite pleasant. The first few breaths after a nice pull on the G6 leaves a cool sensation lingering in the lungs (if you inhale) which begins to fade after a few seconds to a more muted one. Pulling another draw while exhaling through the nose tended to make SubZero grow really strong really fast, I found much more satisfaction taking the occasional pull off it versus a series of chain-pulls. There is a definite lingering aftertaste to SubZero in the mouth especially if you do draw on it for a little while.

I second Dan's comment about it changing the taste of drinks quite significantly. I didn't notice much difference with my coffee, but my coffee is very strong usually as well. The most marked change of flavor to me was in cola drinks, particularly the dark ones such as Coke and Pepsi. I'll experiment with other flavors of sodas and teas to see what I think, but the first time I took a sip of Coke right after vaping I was quite surprised. I didn't notice a change of flavor in water other than it accentuated that residual cool feeling very briefly, but I did note that there seemed to be a small bit of residual film or layer in the mouth.

I didn't eat anything near the times when I vaped, so I can't comment on the food aspect though it should be rather similar to the drinks having a different flavor the first sip or two.

I'm curious to see how the SubZero vapes in a tank or clearo, I'll be finding that out soon enough when my order comes in. Given how powerful the flavor is in a cartomizer I'm wondering if it's a good idea to use it in a clearo/tank...

The vapor production is quite satisfactory, a nice plume for sure. I get more vapor out of HX3 than SubZero, but as far as vapor goes you still get a nice exhale of vapor.

Hk,

I find it really interesting that you get wintergreen while I get spearmint. We both noticed the sensation of a "film" like feeling which might indicate that some of the flavorings come from mint oils -- if so, steeping might come into play especially if the formulary contains a mix of mints i.e. both spearmint and wintergreen.

I was out of the country when my bottle came, but to do justice to it, I vaped the whole 30ml bottle for 11 days before I came on here to comment. Halo nails their flavors. I love all the menthols; anyone who reads my posts or sees my signature knows I am a never ending Truepure fan. But I really enjoy all of Halo's menthols.

Sub-zero is a fantastic menthol. I did not pick up on the wintergreen, but I did detect some spearmint. It really reminded me of the way Tic-tacs taste. For me, more than a kicked up Menthol Ice, it seemed more to me of a kicked up Coolmist. I think that when I heard the name Sub-Zero, I expected even more cool than I got from it. Don't get me wrong, it was cold. I just thought that it might be too much for me, and it definitely was a comfortable cool. It was was easy to vape to the entire bottle, and I will order more of it.

Yet another great flavor from Halo. Well done!!

I've been vaping away on some SubZero on an eGo Twist in a top coil clearomizer, gone through about another 4mL so here's my experience on a clearo and limited VV:

I didn't notice any issues with wicking or burnt taste. The clearo has shown no negative signs of effects from the juice, mine doesn't even have any cloudiness or anything and it's a polycarb cheapo clearo. The juice is 100% PG based and thin enough that it didn't seem to be any problem when it came to wicking even with a top coil and long wicks.

So, on to the experience:
I think I actually prefer SubZero in a clearo with variable voltage. On the Halo carto I got a flavor with much more 'undertaste' in the drags, like the lingering flavor that remains a few secs or so after stopping the vape. On a clearo that seemed to be much reduced, particularly when I started tasting it at different voltages. The flavor in the clearo was strong, but crisp and clear then it transitioned to the cool sensation and minty aftertaste left behind. But on the clearo there wasn't as much of that undertaste like I had on the carto so I found it to be much more pleasant to vape.

A 3.0 v vape was cool and vapor production wasn't that great, but the taste was still quite good.

A 3.4 vape was tasty but still had noticeable flavor of that undertaste I mentioned (to me), and produced a pretty healthy cloud of vapor. Flavors were crisp and it was satisfying but I preferred a higher voltage setting.

For those on fixed voltages first (3.7 volts) the vape was most pleasant. I definitely agree now it's much more spearminty with a nice crisp edge to it at the start, and then tapers down to menthol and finishes with the cool chill that can linger for a short while. A very respectable cloud of vapor with about a 4-5 second draw. Most satisfying.

At 4.0 volts and higher the vapor production dropped off noticeably but was still good. However, the undertaste was much reduced and this was far more preferable to me. Throat hit was noticeably better at about 4-4.2v, but with less vapor. To me the initial draw was more satisfying, and the aftereffects of the cooling sensation were still just as good. Also, it didn't tend to linger as long on the lips and tongue. It did in the lungs just as well. Perhaps at a somewhat higher voltage it's eliminating an oil or distillation in the juice which is responsible for that lingering film which we noticed changed the flavors of drinks and food and stayed in the mouth.

At about 4.6-4.8v I started to notice a very slight burnt taste, which began to detract from the overall pleasure of it. Vapor production was also reduced, I tended to get (I think) about 1/4 to 1/3 less vapor than at lower voltages as well was a noticeable negative change in flavor. Bear in mind of course this is an eGo with a cheap clearo, results my vary on better equipment.

For me the sweet spot was about 4.0-4.2v. Crisp warm vape, a bit less vapor than lower voltages but altogether I think that was more pleasant overall. Vapor cloud isn't everything, after all. SubZero still kept that nice transitional quality but didn't seem to leave that lingering taste at about 4 volts. I'm a much bigger fan of it now, and I liked it quite a lot before.

Really digging Sub-Zero!

It is great by itself, but it I have been adding it to other flavors also. So far my favorites have been:

1/2 Kringle and 1/2 Sub-Zero mix for a super peppermint kick
2/3 Shamrock 1/3 Sub-Zero mix (I labeled it Wicked Shamrock).

Yet another awesome Halo juice to add to my list of favorites.

What a great idea!! As long as I have vaped Halo menthols and as much as I love them, I cannot believe I have not mixed menthols together. Next time I fill up my tank, it will be a mix of menthols.

Often, I get successful ideas from other menmbers. Thanks!

Ugh I wish I didn't. I'm out of SubZero and I'm craving for it!!! Wonderful menthol taste. Like CoolMint on steriods. Love it!
Glad I still have TruePure but will be ordering more of SubZero.
