I'm going to pass on this one. Seems like a cashgrab to me. Throw together some instrumental leftovers, put the Pink Floyd name on it and hope to sell alot of copies. Not for me, I hold PF in high regard, this is not PF imo.

I dunno?

The Sample Tracks didn't sound too bad To Me.

If someone played them Without Telling me who it was, and then asked what I thought, I would say that they sound Good.

When it comes to guitar playing David Gilmour is way up to the top of my list. I admit, I found Waters kind of depressing.

I agree.

And from the Interviews I have seen, that was a Reason for the Waters getting Kicked Out.

That, and Waters felt that the Floyd Experience was His Band Exclusively. And he wanted to Replace Wright and Mason.

Roger hated the touring, really didn't care for his bandmates, didn't like the fans..

I think Pink Floyd got bigger than Roger was ever able to handle. He's happier with his smaller audience. It's too bad he and Dave aren't interested in writing together, as I'd like to hear what they'd come up with. But ultimately, I can be happy with the stuff they've already given us.

It Really is Good.

It has some Very Unguarded dialog. And you can tell that the Band Members Trusted/Liked the interviewer.

It Isn't one of those Interviews where some Music Outsider sticks a Microphone into someone face and starts asking Silly Question like... "Oh by the way, which one's Pink?".

It's all so much easier now that I can stream YouTube to my TV. I'm really going to try and carve out time this weekend to watch this. I know a bit about the making if the album... The quadrophonic sound, recording the clocks on Time individually, recording different people around the studio to get the spoken word bits in On The Run, The Great Gig in The Sky and Eclipse/Brain Damage...

But I see a documentary that's twice as long as the album it's about. That's got to be full of stuff I don't know. I'm really looking forward to it, and thank you for sharing the link.

Sounds like a good way to waste a weekend!

A better way would be to hole up in Abbey Road with Alan Parsons and listen to the original quadrophonic masters of Dark Side.

I should probably plan on watching YouTube instead.

I really enjoy that quad mix-very different than the SACD.

Unfortunately, I did not get my hands on it with the re-release. Quadrophonic sound never took off. Did they encode it into Dolby or something so it can be played on more home systems?

I believe it's DVD-A playable on a standard player, and you have the choice between Dolby Digital and DTS.

If I remember, they priced me out of the box set. I might have to look into it again, set up the surround sound and pretend I'm sixteen again. [emoji2]

I got my quad copy from a friend a few years before the box set came out, and yeah those prices were pretty high so I passed on it as well. I'm a surround sound junkie so I pre-ordered the bluray/CD combo for the new album.
