Got more weird looks today instead of comments. The same idiot from last week told me today that it didn't matter if he smoked cigarettes, he'd die anyway. I mean LOL, really? Doesn't mean you have to make yourself sick when you don't have to. Guess he's just negative about everything...

What happens a lot of the time is someone starts vaping, and gets excited that they're no longer smoking, feel better, smell better, etc. Then when the smoker sees that, they feel threatened, like they're sitting there with a nonsmoker (which a vaper is), that's going to tell them how bad their habit is for them. Don't be that guy. Just vape your happy little face off and make no comment about whether or not it's better than smoking. Let the smoker relax and at some point when these people see the benefits you're getting out of it, they'll leave you alone about it, or ask you for help in trying it themselves.

JEN, I noticed this, too. After nearly a month, I am getting a lot more positive questions. If the guys ask me if I mind them smoking a real cigarette, I tell them 'no I don't mind at all... Go right ahead.' and they do, then a day or two later they start fiddling with my vaporizer and asking about it.

Switching from smoking to vaping was scary for me. I didn't want to fail. What is it, how does it work, will it work for me? I think for most people it is the fear of the unknown that keeps them from trying. We should consider ourselves pioneers, of sorts, and blaze the trail. Yeah, there may be a pitfall or two, but you push through and persevere, clearing the path and showing the way.

If you hear the vaping will kill you then tell them "So will drinking water" When they get in the Deer in the headlight look just ask them if they know any one that lived forever that drank water. Be PROUD OF YOURSELF!!! I'm on day 7 also and I have gone from over 2 packs a day and now I can get by with just 10-15 analogs. I still suffer from the mind set that "I" myself have. I used to be able to go through a brand new pack in an 8hr shift. Keep in mind that there are no tobacco products allowed where I work, so I spent a lot of time across the street. I still have to leave the property to use my pv because it's part of the policy set where I am. Starting to be a fair stealth vaper. lol Best of luck!!!!!! I can't wait till the day I can say I don't smoke.

Let me guess. I bet most of the negative comments come from non-smokers. You've got to do what's right for you and what works for you. I tried the patches and the gums and they worked for a while but they did nothing for the physical habit of actually smoking. I've been smoke free for a little over a month now and yeah I get some funny looks and comments from people when I whip out my ego and start puffing. But I pay them no mind. You should do the same.

I'm on my 7th day with the eGo-C and (hopefully) smoked my last real cigarette today.
Can't waste any money so I had to finish the pack but 6 instead of 20 cigs a day is already great.
So tomorrow, after 16 years of smoking, it will be my first complete day without a cigarette.

For some reason quite a lot of people in my life are actually really negative about me picking up vaping. Comments range from 'Just stop smoking like I did' (a friend) and 'so you replace one poison with another' (my dad) to 'you'll be back on cigarettes within a month' (a co-worker).
Did you guys get the same? I just don't get it you know? I'm trying to kick the habit and I hope the day comes where I don't need nicotine at all anymore but for now, I think this is at least better than smoking.

Anyway, just wanted (and needed :p) to say Hi and figured this might be the right place to get info and support if I should ever feel the need.

I am new to this forum too! I came here looking for information on getting my first kit. I am still on analogs(real cigarettes)...I have already started learning to speak vape! Don't listen to negativity! You can do this...I have read a lot of people on this forum who have quit and that is my main reason for wanting to switch as well. Good Luck to you!:thumb:

OMG I know..... ewww lol the edge of finger on my smoking hand used to always be yellowish.

Congrats on the change. Today is my 54th (I think) day without smoking tobacco. Don't let anyone bother you about changing, many are jealous that they haven't been able to stop their own habit(s). The changes are great! One thing I noticed is my fingernails aren't tinged with yellow anymore.

Let the haters hate!

WOW! last night I met my first real total jerk about the whole vaping thing. While driving from point a to point b, he gave me this long 20 minute lecture about how I'm still killing myself and that he was trying to get the company to ban PVs as well. Mind you, I did not vape around him, I just had it in my drink holder in the truck and he just started going off. I was getting ......, but in the end all I said was...

"If everybody in this company minded their own business and did what they we're supposed to do instead of trying to tell everybody else what to do maybe some f#^*ing trains would get in and out of the yard on time. There's more tattle telling here than in a kindergarten class. Mind your own business and don't talk to me while you play Hello Kitty Bake Shop on your iPhone. Grow up."

I was still stewing and I started humming to calm my nerves which turned into singing out load in the truck.
"its 40 below and I don't give a fk. Got a heater in my truck and I'm off to the rodeo....
You p. me off. ... jerk. You get on my nerves."

He didn't say another word for the next hour while we waited on the train. And the other guys in the truck ragged him about getting a pink HC cover for his iPhone and were making suggestions about what apps they thought me might enjoy playing. It was funny.

Hi everyone. New to ECF. 36 now. Started that nasty habit at 19. Quit several times. Got the ego about 2 years ago which worked pretty good, but when the battery died, I had to wait about 2 hrs for it to charge. So I broke down an started back. I recently got the iHybrid, which works extremely well for me, gives me lots of good vapor which I love! I was having some issues with the vapor being a little hot, so I made (what I call a splash guard) that cools the vapor and helps with the splashing, it kind of funnels that excess of fluid back to the wick. I made a video of it. Here's the link...Splash guard - YouTube. Don't laugh to much, it's my first one, also I realize that there's not a lot of details in it. So I will make a new one soon. Let me know what's missing!

Welcome, Snonster. I haven't had any negative remarks to deal with. I am retired and spend most of my time at home. Hub and my kids have been supportive.

If you want to quit smoking, I believe you can with the help of vaping. I smoked for 40 years and I liked it...a lot. I haven't had a cigarette in almost ten months. You can do it. Sorry for the negative comments, but hopefully you can tune them out and vape on.

LOL, thanks you guys. It's getting better, people have had their say and I get some supportive comments as well now.
It's been 8 days since my last analog :)P). Everybody around me still smokes and sometimes I get offered an analog but guess what, I just don't feel the need to really smoke anymore :)

Now I just need to fix the leak. :(
I really don't want to try a completely different system because I'm happy with how this works. If only I didn't get the leaks so often.
Got the silicone caps for the tank but it doesn't help at all.
So at the moment I pretty much have to clean my eGo-C after every time I use it.
Doesn't make the very happy and I can't find much about how to solve this problem.
