I can't believe it is my 1 year anniversary on putting out my last cigaret and i am still DIDless :-(
But yes I did the unspeakable thing and i pm'd Jim about it seeing as i paid extra to have a speed delivery. I know, I know it is the withdrawal symptoms that are making me on edge!
(and no, i have had no luck finding a brass screw that fits)

*puts extra strength nicotine in her CE2 and crawls back into her corner now*

Ya know, no matter what experiments I try with Mr. Did, I ultimately go back to the original did 3/4 wrap, using the ss tube, rather than my kir fanis clear. I just like being able to use any juice without fear of cracking, plus I just like the look. Maybe someone will make a Pyrex tube which will fit Mr. Did, but for now, I love the stainless all the way. Btw, I can wrap a coil almost blindfolded now, and with just a quick burn and clean on the wick, I am good to go. New thoughts are oft mentioned old thoughts, but, to once again reiterate, the ground wire needs to be flat against tank bottom until it begins its wick climb, and top wire to brass should be kept as short as possible, without wick touching center pole, and you decrease shorts in top, and bottom of coil. Just thought I'd say. ( top and bottom shorts use to always occur on my coil, but have virtually eliminated with above advice.)

Completely agree with everything you said. It describes my present setup perfectly and although I too have strayed, I'm back to this.

Congrats on your fantastic milestone Miriam! Here's hoping the broken post will be but a distant memory very soon.

Just outside my comfort zone.
Hi wasabi, see if you can find mine. It shipped on 7/17. It's a short DID and glass tanks. I've even ordered the mini on the 27th. The mini has not shipped, it's just sitting there saying complete.
You will probably get it around Friday.

I ordered the Precise Plus 18650 with the polished end caps today (which means they're back in stock)! So, The DID will have a nice platform to get it's vaping DID on!
Good for you, MM! Those are the best of the best and I'm so happy you finally got the one you've been wishing for. With any luck I'll be joining you with an 18350 size sometime this year.

Speaking of mods,... has anyone seen the DID on Dancer's new Chameleon mod yet?? Sweet! Looks strong and healthy on that little 18650 it does it does. I hope he knows about the Mini DID too, so we can also get the special Mini DiD top cap as well. I am going to get one of these mods if I have to sell off my ... SB! and I love my SB for outdoorsy times. okay, maybe not the SB... maybe I'll sell off some of hubby's stuff instead. Anybody wanna buy some old hardly ever used scuba fins?

I've had the best results using the wire type that came with the DID. The kanthal?? that came with another genesis i bought doesn't seem to work as well and is more difficult to handle. I hope I don't run out of it or misplace it.

Anyone prefer the DID wire? Do you know where to get more of the exact same kind?

DID ship with kanthal A1 32 which a lot of genesis atty ship with tho they may use different gauge.

I don't like kinks in my wire, they are horrible fore coil and I lack the patience to properly straighten them out.

coinswiesiek on ebay who a lot of ppl buy kanthal cheap from should be back this week and have kanthals available. I get my kanthal from Carl 32 gauge A1 Kanthal resistance wire | Silica Wicks which is a few bucks more, but is readily available. To me, a few bucks more for what is essentially years worth of wire really isn't a big deal... I've spent way more buying small length on cards with kinks and all...

Agree. And once you use it for a week or 2. You know your juice usage I fill mine in the morning and around dinner time. I don't think I had a dry burn yet. But that's my usage. Plus it stronger. I've dropped it at least 10 times one the tip broke it hit so hard. But the did and omega were fine. I sure hope the provari is a tuff as the omega. That's why I got the omega. But I want a constant 4 volts. Makes the did shine. IMO I use 2/3 coil love it. Again we all have a different sweet spot. :)

The plastic tanks are pretty strong as I found out today. First I dropped it....all good then later in the day I saw juice boiling in my glass drip tip. I have an altoids box mod and the button was pressed....no telling how long it had been running, long enough to give me a burn on my finger when I picked the thing up. I was amazed that the plastic tank had not melted. I am running banana nut bread in mine. I do prefer the look of the stainless tanks better but the wick in this tank is running so well that I don't want to disturb it.

The provari is tough. I have 2 and I have dropped mine several times, one time it flew across the concrete, the DID got a small scratch on the top cap, the drip tip broke off and the Provari was unscathed. I think the DID took the brunt of that fall.

I don't recommend torching your wick while it is still in the DID (what kind of crazy lady would do such a stupid thing)
The torching makes the brass center pole brittle .....mine crumbled shortly after I got through torching it. Thankfully I have a few DIDs to use until my new center pole arrives. I ordered an extra one as a spare just in case I get another bright idea that is detrimental to my DID.

No, I agree, only torch removed wicks, and burn coils only by powering device. Cleans like a champ.
