I hear ya, I do like polished SS (especially when they shine like dspins) but satin is my preference as well. Would look really good on my flat top P+ :). Perhaps I'll practice on some SS and see how easy it is to create a satin finish. I have access to a bead blaster, but not sure that would give the desired result. Either way, love the DID, Jim has really made something special for us! Can't thank him enough, though perhaps buying several more of his products IS thanks enough ;)
I did this DID with 400/600/800 to get a somewhat "close" match to the +P 18350.

I'm (*-*) this close to making my first batch.
Have to wait til it cools down here first. I'm at super low energy right now. Don't like the heat and visa versa. All I do lately is sit at the pc or at the xbox (kid's into MineCraft lately and is teaching me my way around the blocks). which means that most likely I'll be here patiently waiting for you get YOUR hiney back in the kitchen. :)
I bet it's gonna be tasty!

Hi Cloud Wizard, just to clear it up for you a Gas Hob as we call it in the U.K is the gas burners on the top of your cooker/stove.
You must have a great wife/husband as by the sounds of it you don't do too much cooking...lol.

Cool, I learned a new word. I love to cook, but most of what I do is on the grill  We do have a stove, but it is a glass topped electric. I will however openly admit I prefer to have some else do the cooking. I told my wife that even a bologna sandwich tastes great if someone else makes it

I still fighting for the flavor. The only good flavor I had with genesis style is my old Line SS.with my DID I tried different wick setups: using cotton ball, cigarette paper, bamboo yarn.. A LOT of vapor, no shorts or hot spots, but no flavor neither.. Very very mute, hardly can recognize the juice flavor, they all taste the same. What I'm possibly doing wrong?

What device are you using and measuring it on Tarkvemada? What do your coils measure out at, and what voltage are you vaping it at?

I get like double the flavor as I would a carto and I would say its on par with dripping if not better. Make sure you quench the wick with your ejuice 3-4 times and use a lighter to burn it off(be careful) and I would try and stay from using anything else like the rolling paper method - although I have those days where I want to make a fast wick and I put rolling paper on it and it works really good even if I dont burn the paper off.

My ejuice tastes good even on higher volts than it would if I used it on a carto/atomizer but try starting low and working your way up if using a vv mod.

Of course this from my own personal experience and may not work for you as it has for myself:ohmy:

Do you put any kind of other wick material in the center of your SS mesh wick to keep the liquid from leaking down the center of the wick?

2 days ago I said the DID doesn't leak but I take it back, even with the screw on the fill hole it can still leak (through the wick I guess). It just happened to me today, it was upside down for like 10-20 minutes and I noticed after that around 2ml has leak out of it !

It's not a good idea to put the DID upside down... maybe if I fold the edge at the top of the wick or just pinch the top it will help not to leak as much though...

I suggest you store it upright. I rest my lavatube/DID in an old pipe holder, works well.

I was ...... off at a Provari tonight for the first time in months of using one. All the problems are from using the DID. E1, & E2 codes out the .... I finally fixed the e1 code. But bumping the coil takes you to the menu and that is an annoyance in itself. As far as the e2 code goes I just keep having to turn it down till it is happy. I have some high drains that push 20 watts coming for the Orion though. So I think I would do good to get a precise + for the DID rather then keeping the Provari. I need more power and less aggravation.

Part of me says to keep it for when I leave with a carto tank or vision stone. Though it will be getting messed up then, and my Lava Tube works fine for that. Guess I need to give it some more time and see if the lava tube I just listed sells or not. I hope it does so I have no choice but to keep the Provari but for what it seems best for, is not what I vape with very much at all. Since I sold my V1 ProV I have changed my style and its sad but its just not fitting very well now.

I can say that it does push more power then the Lava Tube but it comes with a price. Cash, and more aggravation. How Did I fix the e1 code? The wire starts to stick to the mesh and burns into the oxidation after a day or two from the gunk on the coil. It may have just been a bad day but every sq mm of that wire needs to be bumped to make sure its not stuck. Even in the back of the mesh in the areas that its hard to get to.

What do you guys do when the wire sticks to the mesh? I thought about changing the wire out but is some att needed for the mesh? Maybe a soft tooth brush? In the past I would just change the wire out when it got a lot of build up on it. But that same thing happens to the mesh. Gunk all over it.

Sorry it's giving you the business. If a simple twist of the wick doesn't knock it loose, I'll try a dry burn/faucet rinse. If that fails, I twist the wick out and dry burn the coil clean + torch the wick and faucet quench a couple times. Once done with that twist the wick back in and do the nudge/bump if not cool right away.

Hope it helps

Thanks for the pointers CW. Even with the paper my wrap is still to tight to twist. Guess I should rethink my set up. Brian reminded me about the method of using the drill bit and pushing the wick in the coil. Think I should try that. My worry has always been wrapping to loose and getting that burnt hit of death. Will see how it works out once I need to change this set out. Once I do change it then your advice will help more so :toast:
