I use a prescription pill bottle from Walgreen, fits perfect. I also have a leather double cigar pocket case that I pop a Lavatube, in one crease, and the DID in the other, throw on the top, and I am ready to move. Waiting on a precise + 18350, and a mini did. Should increase pocket or shirt pocket friendliness, for when I'm on the move.

friday couldnt be a more perfect day for the DID to arrive, now ive got all weekend to fiddle with making my first ever wick and coil...i will do as everyone recommends and go slow. right now all i know is a carto in my trap tank so i dont know yet what i am missing, lol.

oh wait. When you do realize......it's all over. In MY case, I have a few flavors that remain in my phiniac tanks for when I am traveling and just don't DID travel (I have no screw in the fill hole). I only travel with one DID. BUT....as long as I never, ever use those flavors in my DID, to me I won't know they are no good. Besides, they are very masking flavors. Strong on their own. They "mask" the poly well.

I thought the same thing when mine arrived on a Friday. I have all weekend to get it right well after all the info on here and youtube I was vaping on it in like 45 mins. That was 3 weeks ago and I just recoiled it re-used the wick took all of 5 mins this time! Good luck you will wish you got it when it first came out.

Get ready for the fun. Congratulation and welcome to the wonderful world of vaping, the way it should be. I have not touched a carto, or the host of other apparatus I have sitting around, don't want to even use them as backup. I have ordered my mini to go along with its big brother, and look at every other method as antiquated since I tooled up on the DID. You will love it. Small, kinda fun, learning curve will eventually translate into utter stability and Delicious vaping. Going on two weeks with current coil, and two months of current wick. Will break down for a cleaning soon, but I have not had to fiddle even once in the last 2 weeks, remarkable journey from when I first started. It just plain works perfect now, and requires little more than a juice fill, and a clean the drip tip every morning. Have fun.

Did you see my panic. I had a box of all kinds of cartos. I felt like I was on a island with no water! You will be ruined like the rest of us. Enjoy. In a week you will be looking at carto youtude vids and saying. What's wrong with these people. And yea right great vapor and flavor. Kiss my grits. :). Welcome to the dark side. Report back. Want to hear you take on it when you get it working.

Tony, you are cracking me up this afternoon, but how true you are. Cant even watch the carto vids anymore, I feel sorry for the overpriced attys they are buying. Was standing outside the Jewel food store, waiting on my wife, pleasurable vaping my DID when a young girl sat next to me and started vaping on a greencig. She of course asked what in the heck I was vaping on. I told her and her reply was "To much work, these greencigs are the best". I smiled, agreed with her, got up and went to find my wife, smugly chuckling inside, about the naivety of youth. I was also clicking off in my head the price of $12.50 for 5 carts, at 2 carts a day, my god, I could by enough juice in a week, to last me 6 weeks! Not even going into the quality issue. What can you do.

So what gauge Kanthal (if using Kanthal) is the most popular in the mini. Im a pipe smoker and so I use 3.7v mechanical mods most of the time, which leads me to want a 1.3-1.7ohm coil. I have 32g and 36g lying around but I saw someone wrapping it with 20g. Im still fairly new to this although I have made a successful wick with another genesis atty. That success led me to finally decide that Im going to pick up the DID mini now that Im confident Ill figure it all out.

Provaris aren't harder to get it right, they're just quicker to tell you when it's wrong.

Agreed, never really had much of a problem with mines from the off.
I had a slight lack of desired vapour for a few days...but I soon got that sorted...:2cool: but no real problems setting up the wick or coils on the DID/Provari.
If you read here and do as should be done then it's easy.

Well first of all I wanted to thank all of you for jumping in so quick. And also feeling my pain. I've been using a genisis The Did for 3-4 months now. As we all know once you use one nothing even comes close!

You have seen my silly photos. I put the blue tank on a couple of weeks ago because I was having trouble filling it, so I wanted to see what was going on. Now that I know it was the thick wick and I can will it through it. I decided this morning to put the SS tank back on.

Since I am a ....., ......, stupid Ginny, I forgot to remove the top nut. So I just twisted the did until I heard the pop. My heart dropped. No screws to be found as we all know.

Well this is what I was able to do. So far very happy. Parts will go on order today! Or when Jim opens up again.

Got 14 gauge copper solid wire. Cut shaped

I don't know how to multi-quote, so a few comments on a really funny Friday thread day.

Broken pin, no spare parts: An extra DID (or 3) is better than extra parts - no down time at all :)

Waiting till tomorrow to set it up: who are you kidding? if you're like the rest of us that patience goes right out the window and day 1 gets extended till about 4am noodling with torches, wicks and coils...

Wire for the Mini: I'm running Kanthal A-1 30awg with a 4/5 wrap and it is a really strong 1.4ohm steady. Interestingly, the same wrap/ohms on a Std/Shortie seems to give a little more vapor where as the Mini seems to have a little more throat hit - both have the same flavor to me.

Copper usage: I remember something about copper corroding and making some pretty nasty stuff. Brass is more corrosion resitant than pure copper. Since there is juice condensation in the top cap, I'd keep an eye on it and if anything looks hinky, get a new piece of copper (better safe than sorry, we are inhaling this stuff...)

@Dspin: what school of master metal polishing did you go to? Those pictures are amazing! If you know of a good tutorial on polishing please post. I'm still Sanford & Sons, but want to "move up the the East side"...

Oh yea, Happy Friday Everyone!!!!
