When you put the screw back in the fill hole, are you threading it to tight, or just shy of?

Try opening the wick back up, and putting the screw back into the fill hole, but not tight.

If that doesn't work, you can also try keeping it closed a bit, and rolling a small amount of mesh to put in the fill hole which will seal it, but not as completely as the screw does.

Of course, you may also be able to solve this by changing the angle you're holding it at, but I'm assuming you've already tried that..

i did see some boiling a few times.. so im flooding.. how can i reduce that.. i tried putting the fill hole nut back on but i got dry hit after 2 hits.. the wick top is already pinched..

Somewhere in PA on my Ultra Limited
this is how mine is set up right now.. pretty thick.. with a hole big enough for paper clip.. but im getting mediocre vapor at best.. with no screw in fill hole.. if i put fill hole screw in i get dry hit..

i thought maybe if i made a thin walled wick with a giant hole like a straw i can get more vapor?...

the wick i currently have is 40x40 and i can fit a paper clip thru center... 4/3 wrap @ 2.0ohm... 4.0 on the provari and mediocre vapor at best with the air hole lined with wick..

very frustrating since it seems to be a perfect setup and yet no where close to the ammount of vapor i see on videos...

i have no idea what else to do.. there are no hot spots.. everything lights evenly.. sigh..

On 40x40 - 400 mesh I would have a bigger center channel (the size of the Allen key - I use an 8D finishing nail to roll on). I do leave my filler screw in and cut straw wick with the angle cut at the bottom to let bubbles out. This wick works pretty well, but I can out run it (I'd also probably turn up the volts bait on a 2.0ohm coil to 4.2v or so) if I chain vape. I use the clear tanks, so When that happens I tip it and watch for a couple bubbles to come out the bottom and that loads up the wick again.

I've only had good luck on the skinny channel wicks with 500 mesh and the really thin walled fat wick with higher wattage (although it was just to strong for me...)

Good afternoon !

My present from Pete Saturday was one of his wick & coil set ups.
I have such a great set up right now I don't want to change it, but when it's time to re-do things I will try it.
(I tried the one he had on his and it was really nice ! lol - so was the mango liquid he had in it !)

can you post a pic? maybe also a shot of the center hole too.. is it hollow or stuff like a sausage

i didn't know the fill hole screw can be adjusted .. i either take it off or tighten it all the way down.. i figure the threads are air tight once engaged.. i'll try that..

What a fun day!! Meeting Pete, enjoying your own set-up, enjoying an alternative set-up, ... now that's what I call a great day! :vapor:

I'd have thought so too, but it does "seem" to make a difference..

If it helps, here are a few pics of my current wick / coil which is going on several weeks now..

Funny thing is they wasn't freaked out by what was in analogs......now everyone is paranoid

..........:)..........

So true. I call them vegans of the vape world. :). They push innovation though.

Lol, the ladies like 'em that way..

Key is a good, clean burning coil.. No liquid "boiling", so there's nothing but vapor under the cap. I also tend to let off the power right before I stop my draw which means 99% of the vapor is drawn out and doesn't sit in there to condense...

Here is my experience with wicks so far......I run mostly 50/50 pg/vg
500 solid wick ...works great at higher voltages. Have to do a really low ohm coil to get enough heat with my 3.7 ggts and roller (which the Provari doesn't like). Solid wick is awesome on the orion and Katana btw.
500 as a thin walled or even medium walled with any VG mix does not wick fast enough and juice burns quickly.
400 as a thin wall and medium walled wick is great. .....haven't tried a solid 400 wick yet.
325 as a medium or thin walled works good.
270 and 200 works great as a thin walled.......but is very hard to properly oxidize (short city).
please tell me in your experience everyone which is better for clouds of vapor on the did

A. a solid roll of mesh with a tiny bit of hole in middle
or
B. a fairly thin walled mesh much like a straw with large hole in middle

assuming my mesh is 400 and juice 70/30 and rolled to fit snug in the wick hole.. which is fairly large on the DID mini

Wow, five days from Greece to NC! That must be some kind of record, thank you Jim!! OK, so my initial thoughts;

This thing is much smaller than I thought it would be, the thumb screws are teeny tiny. Lucky for me, I do micro RC, so I'm used to keeping up with tiny little parts and pieces. Build quality is really good, threads are buttery smooth. I rolled a 40 x 30mm #400 SS mesh (trimmed after) wick, and folded over two sides to prevent shorts.

I oxidized it really, really good and did juice burn x3, letting it burn out on it's own the first, time, then blowing it out and re lighting each other time. Also, I went over it with the lighter when the juice wouldn't light anymore further oxidizing it.

I did a 5/4 wrap of 32awg kanthal, clocked in at 1.9ohms on the mini Provari, did Zen's hot prodding of the coil to get them all glowing evenly, and I'm happy to say that this noob got his third ever wick / coil setup working awesome!!

PS: Did I mention how tiny the parts for this thing are? :D THANKS JIM!!

Awesome photos and advice snipped.

It's posts like this that have me stalking the Postie, even though I only got a shipping notice last week. :) It'd probably be easier to wait if I didn't work from home.

Love the photos. Gonna have to dust off and fiddle with the ole camera once my DID arrives, even though I don't have much to showcase it on.
