Thanks Jim this is an awesome device. I was gifted serial number 0164 from a good friend two days ago.

So for the last two days I have had mediocre success with making the coils and wicks. And then today I have it working like the video reviewers. A two day learning curve isn't bad .... for ME. I just needed a little patience, some experience and a lot of tips from this thread.

Taste is awesome and vapor is like a steam engine.

I DID IT

You can get Pyrex from theecig.com. I buy the imperfect ones clear glass tapered they are a nice fit. All the colored ones are fat and weird. For $7 a tip you can buy a few for those drops. They do shatter when dropped on concrete. My trippy tips rarely break when dropped.
vapor, may I ask where you got them?
I was looking for some glass yesterday.... didn't find anything really wow...

Absolutely right! Jim's ss drip tips are a MUST HAVE for any accomplished DIDer out there. Best price this weekend only...
Lets go get some...

Man I love the white one in your last pic, Rick. Something about the white against the steel... looks really clean...... Gonna have to ask sagewod to make me something similar...

Anyone plannin on doing the promo for Jim's new ss tips? I'm gonna try the code in about half an hour, midnight Greek time...

great choice... and its online! thanks a lot... (nothing at 7 bucks online right now though..:( )

They send out an email blast whenever they have tips and carto tanks in stock, which you can get on by shooting an email to sagewoodglass@gmail.com. Now there's also a list of sorts if you want to have a custom tip made, which you can get on by emailing them and either telling them what shape/size/accents/colors you want, pics of another glass tip that you want replicated, or a picture of any example of non-ecig related glassware that you want your tip styled like! Customs will run you $30-75 depending on the size and complexity. They also have glass juice jars (both customs and premades), which'll run you about $50-75. Shoot me a PM if you want anymore info :)
hey Rick...ur full of resources.. I'll drop'em a mail.
I'm calling you Dr. Vape from now on...

Hey disciples of DID, just picked up a mini DID, this will be my second go round with a genny sytle rba. The first attempt was months back when I got the DID. Failed miserably, lol but figurured Id give it another shot considering the immense amount of info that's come out since.

Anywho, I also picked up a gp paps v1 to go with the mini and upon trying to screw it on it will just go two turns. I don't think it is even coming in contact with the connector. Haven't setup the mini yet but was wondering if y'all had any suggestions? I've tried adjusting the pin on paps to no avail.

That sounds scary. I'm sure you have done this.
But. Did you try a different addy on it.
Do you have another pv to try the did on.

You may want to use a old Atty on the paps to work the threads.

Don't ruin the did. ,!

Hi folks,

I recently received my DID D20, and I'm excited about it. I learned to love a high quality genesis from the Zen crowd, but prefer several of Jim's design points (thumb screws, covered fill hole, NOT LEAKING, etc.)

Question for all of you...

What is the smallest and lightest 18650 PV that looks good with a full sized DID? Don't say Caravella... or anything else that has a waiting list. Looking for click-and-buy ;)

Yeah works with my tank carto setup after I adjusted the paps pin but the mini hardly screws on, the paps might be going on the classys if I can't get it to work, btw the mini is super mini, I was surprised at how small it is!

Ok. So I finally received my 500. Rolled a tight coil, no hole, on one atty. actually about 80mm or so and TIGHT. Yeah. It wicks. First findings ... Vape is harsh and very little vapor. Take the cap off and it's wicking, put cap in and vape. Harsh and little vapor. I'm going to get the to break in and see how it settles. It's a 1.4 ohm coil and I have it on my provari set at 3.3.

To compare, I took about 40mm and rolled it normally. Start on key, roll tight with wicking hole in middle clearly defined. That one is wicking, vaping like a dream, and kicking on vapor.

First impressions is that I'm not sold on no hole. But definitely sold on 500 using my typical process.

The Paps is one of many. Take a look at the photo album here.
The Roller and the Caravella are worth waiting for. So will Jim the DIDman's new Mod coming soon to a post near you. :)
Have fun!

Wow, thanks for experimenting and sharing your outcomes!
What sized wire did you try?
I have the 500 mesh on the way, but am still waiting for the 30 and 28 guys to re-stock.

28, 30, 32. Different ohms. I can't vape this. Wicks great. But, it could be that boba's pure vg that always gives me problems.

Sounds like you are shorting somehow when you put the cap on. I am doing the tight mesh with 30awg kanthal and it is superb. I am using 100+ mm though. This still does not fill the hole.

Yeah. I thought the same. Wick is below that top nut. I've applied a lot of knowledge to it and it won't. But I have done nothing but struggle with boba's to begin with. It probably wasn't the best juice to test this wick with. I also left it on the provari on purpose. As sensitive as it is, it often throws an E at me before I even push the button.

I'll change juices sometime for that wick. But this juice is not for it. #500 mesh though? Holy crap does it have flavor. Under my open hole wick compare to 400.....WOW!

I beg to differ. Finding the perfect wick and coil for BB should be the top priority for all the modders out there. Just sayin..
Great to hear the flavor is enhanced with the new 500 mesh. I am a flavor and vapor nut. I like the lung hit more than a throat hit. BB provides that "fullness" with "weight" that sets it apart from the rest of the juices. Don't stop experimenting with it, we need our BB to rock.

I totally agree Yankee. I tried 500 solid (~110mm), thin channel (~70mm) and then a normal fat wick/normal center channel (~45mm). I also tried different wire and ohms (30awg, 32awg, 34awg-twisted). I was able to get them all working, but results for either of the 500 ultra-wide wicks was horrible for me. I also did the same experiments in the Mini (with shorter mesh to get same geometry) and had same results.

I've gone back and rewicked/coiled everything (just added a photo of "The Family") to my normal fat wick/normal center channel (~45mm std/shortie & ~35mm mini) running between 1.8ohm-2.2ohm and now the world is right again. I use all VV devices @ ~9.5 watts (accept the GGTS which is kicked but still set at 9.5 watts)

I've pretty much settled in to Boba's, Gorilla Juice and IKV RY4 Gold (all VG) and this is where I'm getting best results (of course YMMV)

As a side note, I don't see a noticeable difference between the 500 and the 400 Jim includes...

BB does rock. For me it just needs that hole. AND I also run it in an Ody because I still struggle in a gennie for this flavor. Just sayin :)
