Cool idea! and here's some tiger-ish ones that if cut to fit just might do the trick.

I can totally understand that. I do take a lot of precautions using the silica wicks to try and minimize as much of the sharding as I possibly can. Once they get good and wet though they do not release as much. This sharding though is one of the main reasons I have started investigating these stainless steel mesh devices. I have to say for the majority of my favorite juices these do taste great, not better, just different parts of the flavor come out with SS Mesh VS FW.

I look at it this way, each and every thing in our lives poses some kind of a safety risk from the car we drive to the food we eat to the air we breath. The best thing we can all do is to mitigate these risks the best we can. That is where we find our best case scenario for good health :D

Sincerely;

The results are in! Obama has been reelected!

So far:
303 electoral votes to Obama
206 electoral votes to Romney

Still waiting on the house and senate, but looks like the democrats have a majority in the senate, but the house is still up in the air.

I know some of you spend way more time here on ECF than you do on CNN, I know I do, so put the tv on!

Thank you! Let's hope we have a productive and progressive next 4 years!

Yep! And now I am going to pass out since I opened a bottle of 10 year old Sherry when Obama had 275 electoral votes and now several hours later that bottle is half empty while I waited for the speech. Speech done, I am drunk, bedtime now!

This evening/night/morning was spend vaping the wonderful DID!

The mini DID and Gemini really aren't that much harder to setup than the standard/shorty DID, don't let the small top cap intimidate you! Because the diameter of the + post nuts are so much thinner than those of the standard DID, I've found that it's actually a little bit easier to position the point of contact between your R wire and the wick. I'm going to talk to Jim about maybe releasing some shorter ground screws for the Gemini and Mini DID though, b/c the taller screws they currently use do make the process of actually wrapping the coils a little bit harder.

How does everyone feel about the new, taller ground and fill screws? If you have experience with the original Allen wrench equivalents, how do they compare? Even though the new ones are thumb screws and don't require a tool to tighten, would you rather they require a tool but make wrapping your coils easier? Do you notice any difference in the actual performance of your DIDs with the taller screws?

As you and I have discussed before - I absolutely hate the new high ground screws - they get in my way of wrapping a coil. Much prefer the short ground screw of old.

Great looking coil there buddy

Thank you very much DSpin, I think I finally got that stubborn bottom coil working right and this bugger is working great. It is amazing how well this works on the juice that I have in it that I cannot really vape on anything else because it just does not taste right. Hopefully this coil will last me a good long while because it took a while for me to get the hang of this thing and how to wrap it with the proper distance from the wick to allow for excellent vapor without being so close that it constantly gives hotspots and shorts :D

Hope everyone has an awesome day;

Ok I am finally convinced that more mesh is only better to a point. having been running 180-170mmx37.5mm wick in my DID std wickhole (3.5mm) with a 7wrap 0.9 Ohm nichrome coil for a few days on my Paps I was feeling pretty stoked, but to be totally honest on a fresh battery it was a little on the burnt side and even around 3.80v I had to be careful to rest a moment between long double draws. So I had a sudden realization, and that was that if I had rolled my #500 mesh super tight, which I had, then how much juice could it really hold up top under the coil. sure it wicks fast, but It has no real reservoir of juice to supply to the coil. At least that was my thinking. so I pulled my 180mm wick out of the coil, dry burned the coil and took the scissors to my beautiful 180mm wick, I trimmed off around 50-60mm (leaving around 115mm) unwrapped, it and rerolled it a little less tightly to fit the 3.4mm coil size.
After dry burning and adjusting the coils WOW! what a difference, It wicks like crazy, seriously crazy. I've been running my 180mm fat wick in the DId with my adjustable tank breather screw about 3/4 the way out, and with this new looser rolled wick I have it almost all the way in otherwise it wicks too well, I have NO LEAKS AT ALL EVER, and I can take quadruple toke chain vapes without ANY dry or burnt tasting hits.
Now I know BJ is going to tell me again that only superman could roll wick too tight to be efficient, and as far as capillary action is concerned that is probably true, but I have tried vaping my DID at 6"o'clock position, and it just doesn't feel natural, but it does still give flawless performance, so I imagine we are seeing a happy balance of capillary & volcanic rise action here, and not gravitation flow, either way I am super happy with this new "semi solid" "semi tight rolled" super wick. Until I make the next personal breakthrough in my coil/mesh wick set up LOL :)

I highly doubt that - but then you already know my opinion on Obama and yes Im about as conservative as one can get
Even though we don't see eye to eye politically, I'm glad you have the beliefs you do and respect you for standing by them. Personal beliefs asides, there really isn't anything wrong with wishing for a positive outcome for his 2nd term.

If Obama is vaping a DID now?
I was just thinking about whether or not he vapes, b/c I know that he's a smoker (smokes malb reds :D) and has been trying to quit for years, so maybe a DID is just what he needs to get our country back on track ahahahahahahahahha.
But I have a feeling that mailing a DID to the White House might get the sender put on at least 2 or 3 government watch lists..........

if you included a Provari with the DID I doubt it would make it that far, not with the digital countdown timer LOL

I'm with you on this one. I need the gravity feed to get enough juice up under the coil to vape the way I like to vape. I've been doing the same thing you DID and removing enough mesh to re-roll with a 15ga blunt needle center channel.
