Brilliant comparison buddy! Going to send this to people when they ask me to explain the difference between genesis atomizers VS Ody/Pene/! Your mic is working fine btw :)
I'd really like to see more videos from you in the future! Your tone and the content of the video is very straight forward, analytical (in an exclusively positive way), and engaging! Good stuff man, can't wait for more :)

Thank you very much Rick, that means a great deal coming from a Reviewer such as yourself. I think that since the weather here in SoCal is so beautiful today I may just do my Impressions of the Gemini Atty outside this time. It is very perfect temperature out today.

Hehehehehehe

WHOA!!!!!!! Fog Banks with a marine layer 5 million feet thick in LA today :D

Very nice!!!! You've managed to clarify and compare with ease. I hope you do more,

Thank you very much Uma, that is exactly what I was trying to accomplish. Point out the intricate differences in the truly important aspects of a rebuildable atomizer in order to hopefully help others make a more informed decision :D

Sincerely;
Nate aka Darth Vapor

Gonna go see if I can get my two hellions to calm down enough so I can hear myself think and try and get this Gemini only video done :D

Hehehe, gotta love pure VG juice :)
This is actually the first time I've tried it with a 500 wick and it vapes just as well as I thought it would! Gonna have a more reasonable setup in the D16 (mostly so I don't overdraw the 14500 batts), but I'll try and install something ridiculous in the Gemini when I do the review ;)
I love Boba's...but struggle with the flavor of it in a genesis style. Not sure if I am just sensitive to the shift in taste or what, but it vapes great for a day or two, then starts to turn metallic.....and I mean METALLIC. After a coil clean, it will give me another 8 hours. I can wick clean and re-coil and I'll gain back 1-2 days. How do you find the Boba's holding up in the setup? VG.....that's the way to go. We're actually thinking purchasing our NIC in VG.

My Provari Mini and Gemini in the wild :D
Beautiful indeed. And yes, the natural light certainly does bring out the best in a photo.

Hmm, I know what you mean about the metallic taste, but I don't find it unbearably strong. Usually, if there's anything not 100% satisfactory about how my Boba's tastes, it just means that I need to quit vaping it and let it steep for another week or 2. Usually, I'll buy 4 30 ml bottles (2 of boba's and 2 of gorilla), vape 2 right outta the box and let the other two steep for at LEAST 2 weeks (4-6 weeks optimally) so by the time I'm done with the first two bottles, the reserve stock will be steeped to perfection.
This juice does seriously gunk up your coils though, there's no doubt about that. If you're vaping it with a VV device, your best bet is to either crank up the voltage and vape it like that, up the voltage as high as it'll go without E1/E2ing and then give it a nice long dry burn, or just bite the bullet and recoil it every week or 2. Personally, b/c I exclusively vape with mechanical mods, I just recoil whatever atty I have it in about once a week. Though depending on how many other devices I have in rotation and how finicky I'm feeling about my setups, sometimes I'll recoil as often as 4-5 times a week, where as other times I'll just vape a gunked up coil for weeks on end. Once, back when I had my Orion v2.1, I left the same wick/coil (3/2 wrap 30g kanthal, 400 wick) in for probably 5 straight weeks, vaping boba's and gorilla juice the entire time! Only switched it out because even though the r wire started to dig into the wick so badly from regular pokes, prods, and adjustments that it was starting to tatter the wick, I began just sliding it up and snipping the top portion until there was basically only enough wick to wrap a coil and dip maybe an 1/8" into the tank! To say the least, I didn't go posting an pics of that setup...it served me and my girlfriend well on a camping trip up to Big Sur though!

Can anyone discern whether 500 mesh wicks gunk up faster than 400, 325, or 275 wicks? I'm not 100% sure, but I have a feeling they do, so I might end up switch over to 400 or even 325 for bobas, not b/c of any wicking issues, just to get an extra week outta my wicks before they need to be cleaned.

Hmmmmm, gonna see what I can scrounge up right now! I've also heard ultrasonic jewelery cleaners work well, but I have several used electronic toothbrushes and zero ultrasonic jewelery cleaners on hand, so I think I'll go with the toothbrush!! Thanks for the tip Miriam :)

I use the toothbrush for a quick clean in between fills, just brush the coil and wick a bit to get the gunk off, then rinse and dry burn.
I use the sonic cleaner once a month for a DID bath, but then I do take it apart completely (and yes the wick then also goes in the bath).

My mom must have one laying around for cleaning her jewelery...just gotta pilfer it from her room and clean out any leftover silver cleaning solution!

One of the things I do with mine since I roll my wicks around a drill bit and also wrap my coils around a drill bit is just slide the wick out of the coil, dry burn the coil and take the wick to the sink and rinse it good and clean with hot water, hit it with the butane torch to dry it and burn off any excess gunk and then slide it right back into the coil while it is still wrapped in the atty.

The Electronic toothbrush does do a very very good job though as well :D I have used that method several times myself :D

Nate, the audio on the second video was much better. I was able to hear you just fine on the first video though too just had to turn the volume up a good bit.

I think the comparison between the two style of rebuildables was great.

After watching the second video now I am really anxious for my Gemini to get here. I went with the satin to put on my satin black provari mini.

Thank you GR :D Yeah I went into my control panel and have been fiddling around with the settings all day to get it where I do not have to crank the volume up all the way just to hear myself :D Much better this time around in my opinion. I really love this little bugger. I think it is going to be a permanent fixture on my Provari Mini :D

Nate, your vids made me feel guilty (I've been lazy and sporting a gunky wick - looked like Tony's :p). Watched your vids (good stuff buddy!) and decided to be all "clean like" and pulled my wick, burned, recoiled and fired it up nice and easy. Forgot I had put full strength Pluid in this morning when the taste was muted by organic wick sludge and BAM!!! sitting here with a nic headache....

Maybe I have to do just that. Accept that it's thick and needs frequent attention, and recoil even if its every 2-3 days. It is thick. But damn good. Wick stays good. It's the coils after 2 days. Metallic, and pretty quick after cleaning. Unless I reset the clock by cleaning wick and using new coils. For now, it's in my ody, and even that needs attention so.....
Oh. I order 4 of those 100ml bottles at a time. First because I get them on sale and second, that allows plenty of steep time. :)
