I know it's tightened properly but not sure if I dried the inside out after washing it. I remember blowing it out (get your mind back here) but never stuffed a towel corner in there to make sure it was dry. Is that what the main cause is? Water on the inside of the center tube?

Thank ya Miriam!

That's a definite possibility. One of the reasons I use PGA - it evaporates really quickly. Another possibility (unless you already did this) is to recheck the bottom nut (in the top cap) after putting your DID on a PV. Sometimes the pressure on the pos post is enough to lift it and loosen the connection and then when you take it off it settles back down and you can't tell. Other possibilities are micro-shorts (wick touching bottom or top or inside wick hole) all fixed by pulling wick and re-oxidizing.

Not in Colorado yet!
Just got done cleaning my contacts for the first time. I did not do near as well as Rick. The magnets gave me the most problem. Used a Sharpie to mark one side of the magnet that goes in the Poldiac that is the reverse polarity of the magnet on the switch. When I put it in it always wanted to flip. Finally got it though.

That's good news. My wife was complaining about my vaping corner in the kitchen and just said, "can't you get something to straighten out that mess?" I told her I'd keep my eye out for something ;)

Also take out the ground screw, dry out the hole with the corner of a paper towel twirled up, and screw it back in.
