What is the wick hole size of the DID??

Thanks in advance
Just bigger than the Allen wrench that came w the DID. Compaired to several of my other rigs, it is a giant!

Striker, Hang in there Bro! I tweak coils w a toothpick on initial set up. Tip that joker up almost upside down for a min. If necessary. Get that juice in that wick. Tear that coil off and make another if necessary. Remember the cig paper trick is easier w a dry wick. No kinks in the wire, flame the wire, build it then stick it back in there. You will be glad you did, it is a vamping monster. The ody and the did are two completely different rigs, IMHO. The best of both worlds.
If the ohms are consistent, there are no shorts, if you have a hot loop, tweak it.
I'm coming thru there in a few weeks, see you then.

Mine was stuck in NY for quite a few days, (but not too horribly long), and I'm number 680.
Hang in there!!

I was going to ask what the "usual" time frame was.
My order is 749 and I got a shipping notice on the 22nd, but checking it through USPS, it still says Origin Post is Preparing Shipment. I took that to mean it's still in Greece. LOL

We're still non-officially collecting data here on the thread, to get a good guesstimate for the various zips, and so far, not counting weekends and holidays, the avg seems to be 9 days. Some flew through NY, and some have waited everso patiently on NY.
NY has to "process" the pkg after it arrives from Greece... and then actually get it on another transporter.
It could still be in the waiting to be processed bin at NY....
or it might be in the process bin in Greece....
or, it might still be in Jim's trunk ... but I highly doubt it!!!

I wouldn't fret until at least 10 shipping days have passed. (dang weekends and holidays anyways grrrr lol).
Hang in there,

How I track my order from Greece?
Jim sends an email with your tracking number. Once it arrives and is processed in NY it will be updated. Highlight/copy/paste the number into the USPS tracking site. It will then be updated again when it hits your town. Mine arrived before the next update. :)

Jim is now/soon offering a better "tracking" company, that will give updates more often, ... but most of my packages from anywhere USA seem to miss the update scanners 9 out of 10 times anyway.

Count the business days, not the holidays and weekends.

Yes, me too.
I'm glad he was able to offer other shipping options, which I will probably use for the next order.

Not freaking out or anything, just wondering on "usual" time frames, which has been answered.
Thanks for the info!

How in the blue blazes do you keep the wick from touching the bottom of the tank? Even in Scott's video, the point of the 45 degree angle is gonna touch bottom.

Dry fit it without the tank on, keep that measurement, then you will know how long to make each one. No need to have it almost touching bottom

If it's not supposed to touch bottom or the sides of the hole, then I wonder why they don't put a nylon? spacer (sorta like what's on the hole the post goes through) around the outside of the hole, and a nylon? plate on bottom of tank? Seems like that would totally prevent all those problems.

It's very simple, maybe go to the Genesis wicks and tricks thread and read there some, no reason to ever have it tight to the bottom of the tank. Every Genesis is finicky but once you have used as many as I have you get to know the ins and outs and small little adjustments, it can be a pain in the azz at times to just take the time to learn but once you do it makes it worthwhile in my opinion. You will get it if you keep at it, I can make a new mesh wick up in a couple of minutes and have it running perfect, and if you keep at it you will get to this point as well Firewalker

PS: I have wicks that do touch the bottom, and ones that are tight to the side wall of the hole the wick goes through that also run perfect, each one can act a bit different, its knowing what the issue is on a wick and how to adjust it to make it right, and as time goes on you figure out what the issue is and correct it quick it's just a matter of learning these Genesis units then its easy peezy from there on out.

+1 for the 'if at 1st you don't succeed' comments. Most will naturally begin to figure out what's wrong with the setup and how to fix it given enough practise. I've had everything from erros, shorts, no taste, horrid taste, metallic taste, ok taste and full blown 'wow.' Presently enjoying 'wow' with my 1.9 4-coil setup at 3.4 on a vmax. Agree with using a toothpick for small adjustments, together with slightly twisting/moving the wick. If you can't rotate the wick within the coils without disturbing the coils then the coils are probably wrapped too tight. Conversely, coils should be tight enough to keep the wick in place.

The best wick I've rolled thus far has been around a round toothpick and 'stretching' the mesh as you roll it. The stretching action seems to help both shaping the wick and makes it more resistant to oxidization coming off as you're tinkering with it within the coils.
