:?: I need help, I checked coil and its glowing red all the way through, I am getting a very dry burnt taste, when I wet the coil its okay but the next hit is very dry and burnt.
I am using a EGO-c at 3.4, 50/50 PC/VG.
Thanks in advance for any help.;)
Try using the 325 mesh with thicker vg juice and prime the mesh really good after oxidizing it, prime the mesh then burn it off with a lighter, do this 3x. Then I would do the cigarette paper trick make your coil, burn the paper off then prime it again really well and you should hopefully be good to go. Also make sure the mesh wick fits the hole perfectly, not too small nor too big.

Watch Scott Bonnars (igetcha69) videos for the cig paper trick as well as great tutorials as to how to prepare you R.A's, he is very knowledgable in this area though his wick was too skinny in the did build.

Hi moto, hopefully someone will be able to help you out soon. These are my first RBA's so I can't help much. I built my first 2 DID's today and I've recoiled one twice and I'm fixing to recoil the other one for a third time, but I figure this is one of those things where " practice makes perfect" lol. I have noticed that the ohms go down pretty fast and am wondering if this is normal? Maybe it's the reason for the 4-5 coils?

Moto- Don't get discouraged. When I get hot spots in my wire, I try to be patient and move wire up or down - even put the wire more on an angle to the center post than wrapped around it. I fire for about 12 seconds and watch for the hot spots. Sometimes you just have to fiddle to find the right way. Also try to make sure that your wires are wrapped around the mesh with somewhat even tension and spacing. This tends to help. Like anything else vape related, you get frustrated at first then are a pro the following week.

you know how someone said that if you remove the filling screw cover it wicks better for the mesh wick..... well instead of removing the screw cover for the filling hole..what i do is make a wick that is about 80-90% of the wick hole. that seems to give me better wicking of the mesh. you will see a gap between your mesh wich and the sides of the hole... works good.. just wanted to share...

These hot spots people are talking about, are these caused by shorts in the device? When you wrap a coil should all the wraps glow evenly? I saw a vid of zen doing this and he was spacing them out on the mesh evenly. He said take pride in your work, but maybe theres another reason, lol Anyways zen also said that the mesh shouldn't come into contact with the bottom of the tank or sides. Having the ss tank could make it hard to see this. Don't have the DID yet just trying to absorb as much as I can before it gets here : )

These are so awesome...crazy flavor and made like a tank, but so smooth and buttery..

once you get your mesh right.. i'm not so good so i use the paper filter trick.. works every time...

now i just need to get clear tanks..no idea where my juice level is unless i get the dreaded brunt flavor..arghhh

my mesh wick is the exact size of the hole. does anyone find that removing the filler screw changes the experience...im not sure it all in my head or not.

so happy I ordered 4... better get your orders in..i have a feeling once demands gets out of control..well you know the supply and demand curve..lol

Yes, dont use the filler screw and you will get better flavor and vapor - tank needs air

Will it leak like this with 70/30 pg?? I like the idea but i throw my device's in my pocket at work alot for 15-20 minutes while I'm on the move with customers so I don't want to have pocket full of juice from this. Thx

I just did a 5 wrap coil the way Jim said to do it a few pages ago. Its so mild I cant get coils to glow. Paper is also not burning off. Moved it up from 3.7 to 4.3V and its the same. Pretty confident in the coil I wrapped, so is it normal or should I start fiddling? My coil is 2.9ohms.

FOR JIM. Any way to make the wire you send wrap around something round like a wooden peg so its not kinked up? Just wonder if that makes it harder on people learning to wrap coils....

Burn any wire before wrapping a coil makes it easier to wrap - use cigarette lighter until it glows red. Cant wrap a proper coil with kinked and bent wire.

Dry fit a mesh through hole before putting it all together - then you will know the right size. If a properly oxidized mesh is used it can touch - Most people shouldnt do this though as they dont do it right.. Having an all SS tank is awesome - just take the time to do everything right the first time.

Without the filler hole plugged, juice will come out, I leave all my genisis at home, propped up.

Thanks for the advice. I burnt it 4 times and it was still kinked. Never fails that the kink is in the top coil between the brass nuts and the mesh. Its not a huge issue. Just thought I would bring it up. Food for thought.
