OH
Well I'llllllllllll be.........I think I finally taste a little somethin like the juice I put in this thing. Ah ....yep yep. Thats my juice alright. It's not full on crazy flavor but I'll take it....and maybe it'll get better the more the coils get gummed and gunked up.....sounds good in theory anyway. Fingers crossed. Thanks for ALLLLLLL the help folks, it's truly appreciated.

This is from another movie, but it works in here too: "now stop futzing and just vape it"

So, I'm also one of the owners of the DID. Have it ~1 week. Used all the supplied wire trying to make a coil (and even 0.15 mm wire I had left for my Bulli), before dicovering paper trick :/ Now I'm waiting for my ordered Kanthal wire and have a couple of questions.
1) When you roll your wick, what dimensions of mesh you're using? I tried to cut a privided mesh in half and roll on an alien key (as Jim shows on a vid), but it's too wide to fit the hole. Do I have to use less length of mesh, or do I just take out the alien key and roll the mesh between my fingers only?
2) When using paper trick, do I have to wrap wire realy tight, or it has to be loose a little bit?

I have Bulli A2-TM rebuildable atomiser and to make a wick is really easy for it, but this one is my first genesis type atomiser.

Your help would be great.

I can tell immediately if my Did is wicking properly -- the flavor is amazing. If you're not getting lots of flavor, make sure that you are properly preparing your wick. I quench 3x with water then 3x burn with juice, maybe it's overkill but it seems to work. The torch that I purchased makes it much, much easier. If anyone is using a lighter (as I was) it's worth the $25 to get a nice torch. Using the 400 mesh w/ 80% PG.

This realy brings out every aspect from your liquid...im amazed.
Had a bottle hype laying around, didnt like that in my carto/tank settup.
Filled up DID and in 1 word "wow" , i taste the same tangyness aftertaste wich i always had with orange de sangre in a carto, never tasted a slight bit of that in hype till now.
I never dripped, so i never had sush pure flavors...its realy nice.

I saw this online... in different colours. :)
4.5ml Colored DCT Tube for 35mm Cartomizers

If you're in the US, carolinavapes carries these tanks.

4.5ml "Shorty" Cartomizer Tank by SmokTech

@TheRem & hairball

Are these exactly the same tanks? Can't seem to find them in the UK or Europe.

TheRem: Your pic looks great, just to clarify, there's absolutely no cutting required. Have to know before ordering and I get stung for shipping etc....

I finally DID it for real. So you think waiting for your DID in the mail tests your patience? Try waiting for it, getting it, wasting every precious inch of the included Kanthal wire in fumbled wick construction attempts....then waiting another 2 weeks for more Kanthal to arrive :censored::-x

But today was the day. So I scurried from the mailbox with fresh Kanthal in hand, frantically cleared a work area and went into monkey engineering mode once again. 1st attempt....POp goes the coil. :grr:
Ok, calm down, I now at least have enough Kanthal wire and mesh to build an aircraft carrier. 2nd attempt was via the cigarette paper method and...I nailed it! A perfect 1.9ohm 4-wrap coil that after some tweaking and breaking in it's vaping beautifully (3.4v on the vmax). No hot spots. Not only am I getting vapour, flavour and TH but I'm tasting nuances in my tobacco juice that I could not previously discern on my still exceptional 801 Fusion/tank setup.

The other mistake I made is using my 18mg juice in the DID...I'm literally bouncing off the walls right now having over-nic'd myself :vapor: :rickroll:

Thanks to all the contributors in this thread without who's sharing of coil mystique knowledge and experience, this would not have been possible for me. I did what any self-respecting ECF'r would do to celebrate such an accomplishment....I ordered more (lower strength) juice and put more money away for a mini-DID!

The most important thing with the vmax is not to skimp on the batteries. Genuine AW IMR 18350's (or the new E'fest equivalent on the CCV site). Anything less and you'll be sorry :) This mod absolutely needs the amperage capabilities of good batteries to run properly. The knock offs and cheapo's will not provide this.

On the V2 you can turn off the LED's for the display so it won't light up every time you take a puff AND when you put a new battery in it will start at 3v again instead of the stupid high voltage the V.1 came on with.

Edit: Maybe there are more differences, but these 2 are the 2 that count for me ;-)
