Yes I have considered this and to help people who are having difficulty with their wicks I will soon have available on my site a silicon insert for the hole. This will isolate the wick against shorts on the sides of the hole.
Probably a good idea to offer this to people. There are some who will never properly prepare a mesh wick.
Mine took 10 days including weekends to get to the middle of the country once it hit NY. Customs was the hold up. You get notification once it hits NY and will not get anymore info till it is out for delivery at your local PO.
I have the DID and short kit on the way. If I wanted to make a full RA of the short kit do I just need to buy the top and. Bottom ends?

This is my Tuxedobox made from Texas Ebony top and bottom, Bocote sides and stamped chrome doors front and back. 4A polished anti-vandal switch, flush-mount 10K ohm pot w/ 2x IMR 18650s pushing the DNA 12 from Evolv. Doors are fastened with rare Earth magnets. It feels soo comfy in my hand and the power it produces is fantastic. I apologize for the Vivi Nova in the pic, but I built this mod for my non-present DID. It's not here yet, so I had to do something lol. If it matters, I rebuilt the head with cotton cheesecloth and 36awg nichrome.
BTW it measures barely over 4-1/4" tall. It weighs just under 7oz w/ batts. The dollar bill is for size comparison. I don't mean to jack the thread, so PM me with any questions except, "Is it for sale?" and "Would you build me one?" 
ok, my first problem with DID, i need help
the center pin will not stay protruding out of the connector, it will only stay flat. it seems the top plastic piece has slipped out or has been unglued , not sure.
but now if i set the pin to protrude out .5mm it will just go flat.
anyhelp here?

If your talking about the brass center pin, I would think the bottom brass nut is striped.
i checked no stripping..
maybe i am wrong to think i can set the brass pin to protrude out the end a bit?

Dumb question time. What shipping method is the flat rate option, and whats the best tracking method? What is the average people have seen with that shipping option BEFORE it shows on tracking?
