grabeard...you excluded many, many numbers when you cut and pasted yours. Compare your post 26 to post 23.

Please be careful when you're cutting and pasting people. Otherwise you're depriving others of their fair chance at a mini.

No doubt Jim will do a review and 'last call' for the numbers to make sure all are validly entered.

Order 828 : Just received it today.

I didn't quite understand people having so much trouble with it but now I do, it's not that easy, and I'm an experienced genesis maxi user. Finally, no more coil glowing, still taste a little harsh but the mesh is still breaking, it's getting better as time goes. I really like the fact that this thing is built like a tank, looks like it's unbreakable!

Only downside is refilling, you need to have an allen key to open it and fill it everytime ?!

Im one that leaves the cap out. For that I only have to hold it at 4-5 o'clock. It makes it wick a lot better. If your going to have it in your pocket or are worried about juice being spilled out then leave the cap on. I get some leaking out every now and then but it pretty much stay's on the desk standing straight up.

Rick,,, what it seems to do for some reason is intensify the flavor for some reason, just try it, I just happened to put the smaller wick into the bigger one, all I can say is my flavor doubled. the inside wick has a very small hole and the two wicks just seem to work super for me, just passing on something I found buddy.

WOW MWA !!!!! You couldn't be more on point with this theory (but now proven), I have atleast twice the amount of flavor as I did before using the traditional method for wicking. I think your on to something here. This is a really noticeable big difference in flavor and not to mention vapor production which makes sense as twice the amount of juice is being delivered to the coils. My wick is SOOOOOO wet even thru the firing process. It just feeds the coils more than consistantly, kinda drounds them in a really good way. I've been trying to get a dry or burnt taste/hit and It just isn't possible with my setup. Im running 5 coils at 3.2Ω at 4.5 volts. Really really nice...and flavor....Oh MY WORD FLAVOR !!!!!

MWA....thank you for such a awesome tip, this is now a truly flawless DiD !!!

Well that does it ima trying this. Except I'll be making a wick within a wick within a wick within a wick. Hmph.

I'm letting go of my DID and handmade VW boxmod. I made the mod specifically for use with the DID, but my many attempts to build a functional coil/wick have frustrated me to no end. I hope it finds a good home. I'm proud of the flawless mod that I made, so it's priced kind of high. I think it will compliment a successful Genisis coiler's DID! No worries with ohms/wraps. Just find your sweetspot on the dial and let the APV do the math.

Damn that's brilliant, and yes it is! There are special hot powdercoats that people apply to knives which use extremely durable ceramic that would definitely adhere to the knurling on the nuts.

Wonder if this is something Jim would be able to get in Greece? Do you know if the heat needed for the powdercoat would be below the brass melting point?

What about something as simple as a donut cut out of one of the silicon baking sheets? It would only need to be slid over the top nut after the coil is connected to hold it off. They're supposed to be good for over 500deg f and are food grade.

Not a bad idea, but if you get a hot spot near it, wouldn't it exceed that temp? Not to mention, I'd be sorta leery about any possible gases released by the silicone if it got too hot.

Well, dougie wish you could have gotten it months ago and I would have just driven down and bought the DID from you:blink:.I think you are giving up too early but,hey it's your mod and there's cash to be made.I took off the first coil and wick I made like an idiot and had a terrible time getting it back right but,it's all a learning process for me.I can do it now without any fears but, that's after 2 wicks and 5 coils . Perseverance and patience are the key in the "genesis type" for myself.Sorry to write a book but, good luck man!:toast:

Just coat it with some header coating like jet-hot.

I've monitored my headers at 1500 degrees. I'm pretty sure my PVs don't get that hot. :D
