so... okay... while we're on the subject....
how do I remove that extra 0-ring? I've tried and tried since the day I got it, and went experimental happy with all the (now I know they're EXTRAS) 0-rings. I've tried to take it back off since day one, honest I have, but... it's on there good! My cap won't twist all the way down because of it, which has been no problem, I just untwist and line up with my finger under the wick. But... I'd really like it to be normal like everyone elses instead of like the dummiesRus way...

Does anyone happen to know (our can point me to) the measurements of the DID? I've been wanting one and now may have found the perfect inset tank mod for it, if the DID will fit.
Thanks in advance!

If you can find the measurements of the 4.5ml tank we have linked in here it fits the DID perfect.

Just wanted to add my thanks to Jim for this fantastic product and great service. Ordered on 3rd July, Shipped on the 10th, arrived today. It has been said before but you really do have to see the DID IRL to appreciate it - none of the photos I've seen do it justice. Made my first wick (using the Scott Bonner original method) at lunchtime and have been vaping on it ever since. Really good and seems to be getting better as the coil breaks in. But the flavour is already incredibly intense - I have had to cut my usual juice 50:50 with unflavoured nic to get it to a sensible level.
Thanks again Jim and I hope your current problems don't last too long. I will call in at your site and leave a review in a few days time when I've had a chance to put a few miles on this thing.

Not too jealous!
Mine was sent to UK on 22/6/12 and still no sign of it. Of course you can't track Royal Mail post as it only updates when it's delivered.
I think it's disappeared somewhere :( You lot carry on enjoying yours.

fingernails, thumbtack and a toothpick.
Try applying some juice to the o-ring and roll off with a finger nail should do it. It needs to go. If it's that tight a tine on a fork should do it.Just stay away from the other o-ring beneath it.Worst case would be to cut it off. Good luck ,you can do it.

fingernails, thumbtack and a toothpick.
all else fails, cut it.... Now, that comment doesn't come without some sympathy. Took me donkey ages to get o-rings off the center post after being too ambitious and installed them before cleaning (I soak/clean all SS parts in 100 proof vodka before assembly). Sounds simple, but pry with toothpick and kinda roll under finger at same time. Once you get up onto the first thread, use two fingers to roll the rest.

I can totally agree with this. I got my Ss 270 mesh in yesterday and just had to tear out my perfectly seasoned wick and coil to try it. Of course while i was making one wick i decided that i should make 5 extra...and while the blowtorch is out anyway may as well make new wicks for all my gennies. Then spent the rest of the night tinkering and when the kids ask when you aware going to bed you know you have been at it too long. I have 3 coils of differing gauges of kanthal wire .....yes decided that I just had to try them all with the 270 mesh. Finally decided time to stop tinkering and just perfect the last coil I made.
Time flies when you are having fun.
Ok Ok, This gosh darn DID, that's right, I am cursing this DID for giving me a new addiction. Yes, My name is Rick and I am a coil addict. I have become a mad scientist!!!!! My desk looks like something from a horror movie!! My wife can hear chants of "ITS ALIVE, ITS ALIVE, and glowing on points," as another successful coil wrapped and glowing prepares itself for my vaping machinations. But wait, one more wrap and I might get my OHMS to rise a little higher. I will be right there hon, just one more multifaceted, multilayer, perfectly oxidized wick to make, then we can sit and watch a movie together......., but wait, I detect the dreaded HOT_SPOT, hold everything, I must operate immediately lest I lose the perfect vaping snark, can"t, won't, have that!! Enough writing, just received my 500 feet of Kanthal, no time to spare...gotta go!!!

Please tell me what I am doing wrong... I am not getting the flavor on my Shorty DID that I get on my Line V2. here are my steps and maybe someone could call me an idiot and solve my problem....

Cut 400 30mmx30mm
burn it flat before I roll it over my stove (I don't have a torch does that matter?) I use the stove for my line v2 mesh???
I bend a small piece on both the sides that will be on the top and outer side of the wick
I roll it with the wrench that came with the kit
I burn it 3 times and don't quench it

I am not getting any shorts it is just the flavor and vapor I am not happy with.

thanks

I've been wrapping the wicks slightly conical. Just enough so it binds up on the coil before it bottoms out. This way when the coil gunks up and I need to clean it before the tank is empty. I just pull the wick out and dry burn the coil clean.

Nut.jpgc.jpgclean.jpg
Watch out! It shoots embers.

On another note.
Having the top of the coil sandwiched by the lower two nuts. I've been able to play around with the height of the top nut. What I've noticed is that if I lower the nut I seem to get a more intense, almost sickly sweet, juice flavor with less vapor. By raising the nut I get a more palatable flavor with increased vapor.

I may also just be imagining it.
