dang, I'm 1260 lol

Your order could still beat mine. It's the USPS leg that is inconsistent not the weekly shipping schedule from Greece. kindly remember Jim had some unfortunate people problems last week which seem to be sorted out now.

Just outside my comfort zone.
I use only provari's, how do you know the watts?

Hey, felt like wrapping a new coil and decided to go with 34A-1 this time. Wrapped a 3/4 that's pulling 3.1ohm that is killer. Not sure what other folks have found with battery life, but my Provari has been going through batts much quicker at lower ohms. I almost always vape 3.0ohm@5.2v for 9.0watts and this is really a nice setup for me.

Thanks Scottinboca, mine calculates at 9.4 amps. Shows how much I retained from high school and college, too many years ago.

Proabaly way overkill (actually I know it is :p), but when I started vaping I compiled this spreadsheet as a way to learn what it all meant and to give me a quick reference for electrical stuff: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/38102283/Power Calc.xlsx

Most cells are locked so I don't mess it up (protected with no password)

Jim I don't know if this has been brought up or is already in the works, but I would love to see a Fat DID! I would love to have a DID that holds more juice. It would be great to have a 5-6ml tank IMO. I would love a tank that would last a full day of heavy vaping!!! If you make one that has a wider tank it would be great. I wouldn't want it taller personally.:D

2.2ohm@4.0v would give you around 7.3 watts. I added in the "I" (current) because that's the number responsible for the dreaded Provari "E1 - shorts" or "E2 - over current". And the "C" calculator is about whether or not I would've destroyed my smaller stick batts with LR attys before getting higher mAh batts/PVs.

If you click the little ?'s icon, it'll take you to reference materials I found through Google

I made my best setup last night with a fat(barely fits the hole 325mesh) and a 2/3wrap coil that is 1.5 ohms.I have been running it anywhere from 4.0v to 4.2v or in the neighborhood of +-10 watts and the flavor/vapor production is perfection for me.This is only the 4th wick I have tried and probably the 10th coil. Each and every one has has had their own distinct +'s and -'s but, this one has it all for me.Thanks again Jim for the a superior product for vaping. My wallet and credit cards are hiding and I think I see another DID in my future soon!

just watched Jim's setup video again and noticed he's using way more SS mesh than I do. Looks like he's using a 1/2 a sheet (~50mm) where as I'm rolling ~25mm. Anyone using the more mesh roll?

I have noticed better result with half sheet 400 mesh. Mine is so fat can barely jam into hole, however, I am getting 2.7 ohms on 3 wrap of kanthal 32a, and find 4.2 volts on lavatube very satisfactory on both vapor and TH. Wicks great, no dry hits I can remember even with chain vape.

That's really good information. I've found with my other rebuildable's that the low ohm stuff just tears through my batteries, even vaped at the same wattage. The amp draw is just so much higher on low resistance stuff. Ideally I'm looking for just under 3 ohms and vaping it around 4.6-4.9 volts. The setup you quoted here is just perfect for me so it will be the first setup I try once my DID's ship.

I just rebuilt my first Genesis style atomizer this morning on a Katana. Largely due to the advice in this thread it went off without a hitch on the first try. No shorts and no problems. The extra torching before rolling, the thorough torching after rolling and the cigarette paper trick all combined for a surprisingly easy build. Now I'm ready for the DID's.

I saw that Jim ran into some problems so I'm hopeful on them shipping this week as per his previous post but not counting on them shipping yet.
