Actually, because the DID's fill hole is large enough, you can take out all the juice with a syringe easier.. just angle the needle so it goes into a corner and suck everything out...

I just disassembled my DID and the center pin is all green with oxides (no I did not vape Pluid in it, it's oxides)... Is that normal? I can't say I'm 100% happy with this. I'm ok with the fact that the portion in the actual chamber and the nuts are not really oxidized, only the lower portion... Any news on the SS center pins?

Is there any sediment or particles left in the bottom of the tank after it has been vaped awhile? I have heard that some other genesis attys turn some of the juice dark and not too tasty towards the last mL. Can you vape a DID tank all the way down?

The change of colour I heard, is from juice in the wick being heated and the sugars in it being caramelised. It doesn't really taste any different i.m.o. though saying that a freshly cleaned and filled tank, always tastes freshest.

I think I got it now.

Made a new wick and coil, poked the coils about until they all glowed evenly, and am getting massive flavor and fair vapor.

Would have liked more vapor, but I think it'll get there.. Am absolutely happy with it as-is :)

Should have a ton of vapor - make sure the airhole lines up with the wick. Mark wick spot before screwing on top cap - If it does not line up - vapor will suffer

Pyrex is what I'm using on my DiD........Wow talk about clean pure ROBUST FLAVOR. I thought my pyrex carto tanks were so much better in clean flavor and juice longevity, but a GEN Atty with a Pyrex tank is hands down the best "true to taste" flavor reproduction tank I've used to date. J

Try a glass drip tip and you will then die of happiness, those change the flavor also

I am expecting my clear kir for the DID any day now. I have seen reference to certain juices that crack clear tanks. Generally, what type of juice does one have to worry about? Thanks for any help.

I use Smoktech clear window from their new 3.5ml tanks- it's safe for all juices - polypropylene.. And I can change and match my drip tip colors.. LOL

Can I ask where you got the tank from?

Thanks

I got my borosilicate (pyrex is a brand name:laugh:) tube from Bert of Trippy Tips. We went to his glass supplier & found a 4' tube with the right ID. He cut to length, then annealed it (to get any stress out from cutting).

I actually took my DID apart today for a nice bath in my sonic cleaner and found the same thing with my center pin it was green and wet inside the tube part. The bit that sticks outside with the nuts on looks just fine. It worried me a bit and i too would like more info on how to solve/prevent this.

Thanks "D"...I've been lookin' for a nice "simple", "symmetrical", typical cylinder style drip tip that isn't all "trippy" and weird looking but really haven't found 1 that is the perfect fit and look for my tastes.....any recommendations "D" ?? TIA.

Also the pyrex tank tube I 1st used to be honest was a pxrex blown vase a friend did for me years ago. It just happened to be the "perfect I.D. But it was a bit thinner than I felt totally comfortable with so I 1st got him to blow me...lol ....a new tube that fit very well on the I.D & O.D. I just ordered 8 ft. of clear pyrex tube that will fit "perfect" last thursday. He said he would take care of cut it, anneal and smooth the edges for me for a tight/perfect fit. I told him he should order a ton of this glass and start making these tank tubes for $10-$12 bucks a pop. I guess he's thinking about it. I'm "almost" tempted to give out his email and tell everyone who wants 1 to email him so he gets a "real" idea of just how high the demand really is for this. lol..lol
Take care all...J

There was a discussion about Brass and SS awhile back. Maybe we can dig it up? I think Dspin, Mat (MWA), RWesher, were the main discussers. Does anyone remember?

I think I recall them saying their was NO need for SS posts as the tiny O-rings DO NOT allow the internal center post to be touched/contacted by any juice. And the brass center+ post is a far better contact over SS. That's what I remember.....now Im hoping Im right.......if not please correct me. At any rate....I completely concur with them both. Their both both much further into GEN atty's than most of us as their collection present and past kinda speaks for itself. lol

That's basically what I remembered too. Whew!

I think the Elfstone used an unfortunate descriptive word. I'm sure the "juice tank" visual wasn't meant to appear in our imaginations. I believe the proper visual was "atty body that looks like a tank that sits on top of the juice tank". hmmm, well, okay, I need a writer to edit me too. lol. But, that's what is meant, is the ATTY BODY, not the juice tank. :)

Brass conducts waaaaaaaaaaay better than SS. The brass rod goes through the inner tube so your juice is not in contact with brass rod. Far as oxidizing - its like any mod or rebuildable - you must take them apart and clean them, including the brass parts. Little autosol or flitz works wonders on brass connections.

Inner tube for the DID

This is post #648 ( I can't tell you page number because we all have it set-up differently). Read from that post and work your way up. This link may take you there.

I used 270 mesh and that is a little brittle and did leave a few particles behind. 325 and 400 mesh doesn't do this. Yes you can vape it to empty....I usually do :)
I will have 6 DID'S here really soon because I like variety in my flavors. I haven't noticed too much change in color....but I only have 1 tank with the clear window, I am using the ss on the others because I vape juices and lemonade and limeade could crack a poly tank.

I've been struggling to figure out how to add TAGS to the bottom of the page, but it never works right for me.
Can someone be a dear and TAG #648 Brass, SS
(plus correct the others I tried to add earlier).
Thanks

Excellent find Mr. Mann!!!
Added tag

Like I said before, my goal is to have a bit of an index of certain posts, questions/answers, concerns and the like. It may take me awhile but until then I will be compiling. I wish I could make my own sticky. LOL

Thanks Uma, I have barely met you and I can see that you are an awesome individual.
