Followed advice given here (thanks guys), went ahead and bought a propane torch to re-do my existing wick.

The propane torch is a freaking flame thrower as complared to my cheap ... china made blow torch.

Torched up, quenched the wick a couple of times and made a new 5/4, 2.3 ohms coil the exact same way in Jim's video.

BAM!! no hot spots! no burned taste, no more adjusting wires and positioning of the wick.

This is excellent! I think i DID it.

The only thing is that my vapor is not as much as what i see in videos.

Without the cap on, vapor seems to be same as what i see in youtube.

Lung capacity perhaps? or some improvement is needed?

this might be a dumb question but what does 5/4 wrap mean?

having the same problem, vapor seems to be not so good. I vape 70/30 and don't think i have any hot sports or shorts. flavor is good.

without the cap on vapor is plenty but when cap is on vapor does not even come out the tip.

when i vape it i can watch vapor come out the little air hole, i just don't understand what it could be. using 2.3 ohm coil at 3.8 to 4.4V

air hole lines up perfect with wick and have set it up just like Jims vid.

Any thoughts?

for me the big question is how the brass nuts are suppose to be on the post. I find it works best for me with the flat side up on the bottom of the coil wrap and indented side going down on top of my post wrap. I tried indented side facing up on the bottom of the post wrap and facing down and it breaks my wire if I have to make an adjustment.

Nuts (Mating Surfaces) - 1806

Maybe that will help?

We need to make Mr.Mann index post a sticky in this thread, any way to do this?

I do wish that it could be easier to access--most will just begin posting wherever the thread is at a given moment. But as long as it would be able to be updated...and not always by me (LOL), it would be nice to have it stuck. I was thinking if Jim opened up a thread called Answers to FAQ/ Tips/ and General Info, then that way it would be a community Index with Jim having veto power and other members having access to adding additional links. I imagine The DID will change and newer versions will come out, so I think there needs to be some freshness that can be added. Sometimes this forum is like chasing one's tail.:laugh:

Hdz and Galaxy....re: vapour production, double check to make sure the top nut is not underthreaded and therefore protruding too high on the post. Top of the nut should be about flush with the top of the post or slightly below.

Also consider that the coils/wick likely require some vaping time to break in properly. If you're satisfied that no hot spots or shorts exist, vape as is for a day or two and see if any improvement kicks in.

I'm getting a huge amount of smooth, flavourful vapour off my 4/5 coil setup using 70/30 PG/VG tobacco juice. I would say offhand that you will likely soon experience this with further break-in/refinement.

Some experience and passage of time is necessary with Genesis atty's. It is true as some have suggested that after a while you will be able to tell instantly if something is off and what the remedy is, by taste and 'feel' alone.

one of my friends had a rebuildable atomizer and vapor without the cap looks perfect, but when he vaped it, the vapor production decreased to 80%. what he did, he widen the air hole just a little, then tones of vapors. this is the only solution if you have an issue with vapor is the air hole. let me give you example go to youtube and look at Fatty v2 rebuildable atomizer, you will see tons of vapor coming out from this small device, because it has three air holes.

what I did with my DID I put the paper clip inside the hold with little effort and move it around, and the vapor increased. I know i can get even more vapor if I widen the air hole, but I will not do it at least for now
