Been there done that, not fun but you just gave everyone a good tip and that is that you have to have a min of 2 DID`s so you can have 1 working while you mess and learn with the other.:)

Oh I had ordered 2...and spare parts. Didn't realize that I had enough parts for a 3rd. So no way was I going to tear all three down. Boba's Bounty stayed up for vaping. :D

Yup. No problem at all. I was vaping at 8 watts with Tanked Boges but I go 8.5 watts on my DID. I would think that setting up a new coil would be a nightmare usinig a kick. I use a Provari to carefully measure my resistance and adjust to a voltage that works for me. Then I use an Ohm's Law calculator to figure out what the wattage is and dial in my kick. For example the coil I have now is 2.2Ω and I found it worked best for me at 4.3 volts which is 8.4 watts.

I agree and do the same. The Kick has no feedback besides empty battery so the best is to test on the ProVari. Then when all set I put the DID on my Kicked Siam Cube. :)

Thx Uma, I did dryburn/dunk and swish the tank with 100 proof vodka (they don't sell ever clear in PA :(). Unfortunately, I think the flavor must've soaked into the o-rings or something (hopefully not a perma flavoring into the clear tank...). I'm hoping a good bath will remove it.
Oh I see! I figured you, of all people, would know this, but I wasn't seeing past my nose. lol
Good luck to you, I hope you get that flavor out so you can enjoy your others again.

Good to know it works great with the kick, and thanks for sharing how you do it. Maybe someday even I will be able to master "numbers" and this post will so come in handy!

Love the looks of those Siam cubes! How do they feel in hand? Kinda like a Reo or something?

I've had my did for a couple of weeks I have a good double wick set up. My coil is about a week old and just did a good dry burn but flavor is really muted. It's been good but the last day or two it's been really mellow. This is my first genny so any advice would be awesome. Oh and I tryed pinching the top of the wick.
Did you reseason the wick with juice and burn after you were finished cleaning?
I hope you get your flavor back soon!
You tried pinching, did you try reinserting a paperclip to make sure the hole is still acting like a straw?
I wish I could help, but I'm too new at this myself.

Hey CyberDj, you using the extended tube Cube+kick (18650)? Can you post a pic in the photo library? This sounds like a great mech+VV (or VW...). I want something that can take the 3100mAh panny hybrids + kick, but it has to look good with my DIDs

I had to add my worst flavor experience
Not so wonderful to vape in the DID list:

1. Absinthe
2. Cucumber - horrific and not easy to get the taste gone. I threw away the wick
3. reserved

Hey, why are you tearing it down? Lorderos, a gennie wizard, taught us to dry burn, let go of button and dunk the wick, repeat until gunk falls off. Finish with toothpick or fingernails. Do the juice/lighter trick 3x, and off ya go.
The tank can be cleaned out with good ol everclear, vodka, or pure straight vg or pg.
No sense having clean shiny brass nuts again. What a waste! :D

Speaking of Lorderos, here is his tps and tricks thread. (i stumbled on it last night. yay me!)

I found a great cleaning method for a torn down tank. Buy some denture cleaning tablets. Dismantle the did and put it in a cup or something with a denture tablet. I did not take off the o rings and it didn't harm the. 5 minutes is all it needs to soak and voila a shiny clean DID even the brass came out like new.

Awesome! I'll try this when I next do a full tear down.

Ok. Bad news... UnDID two of the DIDs. Wanted to try a few different methods (diff coil wraps, diff attempts such as dual wicks, silica in mesh, etc). Wasted all day today with epic fails on each. Hot spots, shorts, pops and blown coils NO MATTER how neat and proper the wraps were.

Good news... Went back and just wrapped both using the same method as last night. Spot on. Ok Bo....LEAVE IT and vape!
:vapor:

did the same thing last night from 12am till 3am in the morning... and that's 1 DID :)

I've been there many a time, not yet with the DID but with other stuff that would take just a minute to fix. You know what I'm talking about, it's 11:55p.m, you really should go to bed. Oh look, something needs fixing. It'll take only a minute to get it done. Meh, I'll get it done and be in bed before midnight!!

2:59a.m - Your eyes are blood shot and bleary, from all your crying. Your knees are sore and scraped from your begging and pleading for it to work.

3:00a.m - You throw in the towel, and head to bed!!

I rotate flavors throughout the day (hence my need for 6 DID's and a mini on the way). I find that my taste buds get saturated with a flavor after a while and then it tastes muted. If I switch out flavor for a while then when I go back to the old one it tastes delicious again. I read from someone else a while back to vape unflavored for a day if all juice is tasting muted to allow taste buds to recover and then go back k to flavored. I haven't had to do this but my friend did because she had been vaping cinnamon and cooked her taste buds. You can also try upping your voltage a little to see if that kick starts the flavor for you.

Just an update... DID is working splendid *knocks on wood* This thing is truly excellent! Great first genesis experience. Rocking a 2/3 wrap at 1.4~ ohms and LOVING it! Guess I got lucky as this is only my second coil ever wrapped (not counting Odysseus and Penelope). This thread is fantastic, there's so many things I'd like to try, but not going to risk messing up the coil/wick...yet anyway. Thanks all

Gotta have at least 2 DIDs so the experimenting is stress free.
