Quick question that may have been covered already. If it has my bad but this thread is a little big to find stuff in! What's the main difference between the did and the short did? I see its only 4mm difference in height without drip tip. Is that it?

Also, anyone want to post up a Vari with a did and a size comparison or measurement? Thanks!!!

I sold almost all of my 500 boge cartos and gave away all but 2 carto tanks and ordered 2 more DIDs because I think I'm getting way better flavor and vapor with them

I take my hat off to you, Sir! I don't think I've ever had more than 150 cartos on hand at any given time. :)

Hi there again
so my last news it's work for some time and then just stop I found there is Air bubble on the mesh on the tank from the base. So maybe that caouse the problem or no one face it before ?

Ash, that air bubble is normal. Air goes down the wick into the tank when you take a hit, similar to what you would see in a carto tank. I saw it happen with my DID when I got the clear tank on it.

You’re awesome! That’s exactly what I was looking for! I got a pm to the link to the photo forums, made it through the last page and ordered my short DID with a clear window. Now to read, read, read to hopefully have somewhat of an idea of what I’ll need… hmmm… some new drip tips…. I saw a white Vari with one…. oh, I should stop reading and save my bank account…..

I was looking at the photo album and saw that you had several DID's as well
I have 6 about to be 7 when the mini arrives.
Glad to see that there are other DID-aholics out here.
I think I am through buying DID'S unless Jim comes out with a hybrid. I think 7 flavors running at a time should be plenty.
My inventory also consists of:
2 sheets 400 mesh
2 sheets 325 mesh
3 sheets 270 mesh
2 sheets of mystery mesh
30ft silica rope
400 ft 32 awg kanthal
200 ft 30 awg kanthal
200 ft 33 awg kanthal
120 DIY flavors
250 ml 60 mg/ml nic concentrate

If ecigs are ever banned I should be good for life.

HaHaHa gotta love DIDaholics!!! I'm right there with you as far as supplies hon- I will never need more mesh or wire and I do all DIY except for one that I purchase as a special treat to myself :) that's why I got the spare parts for my DIDs because I don't use anything else now- they are the best RBA available IMHO and I don't want or need any others. Now Mods..... that's another story LOL!!!

Man, I have been having such a rough time with my DID since I got the provari on Saturday. I keep starting out with stable ohms on my coils, no shorts, etc.. After about a day the resistance starts fluctuating and I get OP... After a day it won't fire unless i push the wick away from the center post even though its not touching....
Only thing I can figure is that wrapping directly on the center pole is not working anymore... I lost a nut so have been doing this for a few weeks and usually not any problems... Just wrapped a new coil and already not firing unless I jiggle the did around... Has it been said that wrapping directly to the brass center pole has caused people issues?
Luckily all the SS parts have been put up... Im going to buy those and another DID while I am at it. Might as well get the free shipping and I know Ill order another did anyway within a few months... Any words of advice in the meantime would really help. I've been messing with it for about 3 hours every day since Saturday... I was getting so frustrated that I messed up four coils after work today. The kinks kept causing issues in the kanthal (I do burn them quickly first) and I kept getting a hot spot at the top that would burn a hole or tear in the wick... I may end up using some cartos until I get the new parts. I have even cleaned the brass center pole numerous times in vodka, with a toothbrush, etc... Maybe the threads just are not stable for wrapping on...

Thanks for listening to me rant.. Any ideas I'd appreciate it. I hope the new parts rectify this as I'm about to drop close to another 150 on something I love but can be so finicky for me...

The first post contains an index lovingly prepared for your reading enjoyment, by one of our members, MrMann, should help you with specifics.

I hate kinks in the wire resulting from wrapping it around the card. I think maybe some of my own success with coils has to do with it from a spool. nice and easy to wrap around.

Don't know about wrapping around the pole. I got myself an extra set of brass nuts so I can do 4 nuts post and still have spares. how many nuts are you short?

I got the OP error a few times at the beginning with my ProVaris and had to Google it because I didn't know what that error was LOL. Anyway, I found out it meant I didn't have a positive connection and sure enough my positive wire was loose. Since I have 3 shorty sets that I don't use (tank too small for my vaping needs) I stole the extra nuts from them and I use 4 nuts on the positive post and never get the dreaded OP error anymore. Hope this helps. Patti

I also would be interested in a custom did ss drip tip. What would be even better is if Jim could make a custom ss flow control drip tip. Then the did would be unstoppable.

Good idea in theory and I initially loved my Siam flow control tip but found it collects a lot of condensation from the DID. Always a drop sitting on top of the flow control sleeve. On the other hand my SuperT Tanbur tip works exceptionally on the DID. You just have to be careful not to take out an eye :)

Just got a new ming style SS King Kong DT...very inexpensive and it also works quite well on the DID. Both these tips have a wide bore and I agree this suits the DID very nicely.

This is so true, especially with my ProVs, I only use the wire from my spools now.

Top hot spots, for me, are almost always a result of: wick hairs shorting, ground wire raising off the deck before moving up the wick, distance of wick to top coil, ( to far away, or to close and touching the center pole). Also spinning the wick in place might be a better solve than moving wick up or down, that action might mess up coils. Can't speak for missing nut, have not experienced this as yet, ( hard to believe I have not lost 1 yet, am ordering several more).

This is very true... The spool does make it easier... I stopped using the card with kanthal as much... Though its easy to kink the wire when wrapping. i find I sometimes kink ti accidentally...

Huh.. Thats interesting. I read that OP meant Ohms pending so I assumed it meant the same as when the ohms were fluctuating.... Odd part is that wrapping around the pole caused way fewer shorts for me at first after I lost the nuts... Now nothing but trouble. Thanks. Hopefully the new parts will fix it.
