I was a little worried about my ability to make a working wick and coil, much less maximize the vape as this is my first Genesis Atty. After spending alot of time here reading and observing I jumped right in and made up a wick and coil using a combination of things I learned here, put it on my Provari, crossed my fingers and checked the OHMS... 2.4 right off the bat!!! No shorts or hot spots and worked great thanks to all of you. The vapor is awesome and the flavor is really starting to come through. The throat hit is amazing. Its like PBusardo said, now I get it! Thanks Jim for putting out such a great product and thanks again to everyone here for making it an easy transition.

Congrats to u. Im on the late train, i just placed my order today. I was on the fence between this or the cobra.. I got the short did. The cobra is just way too long looking. I think i made a wise desicion. With so many how to's and reviews plus all the spare parts this is a winner

Congrats and enjoy. I was a little nervous when I got mine also, it was my first genesis atomizer. I also had time to go through the thread and watch all the videos. I too had a great first go with it. It’s really not hard to setup, just as long as you’ve done some research first. I think most of the people that have problems just don’t take the time to read and watch the videos of all the great people here willing to help us newbies.

I answered your questions in blue
I ordered the standard DID 14 days ago, and still haven't got a shipping notice yet, and while I am patiently waiting for it to ship, I found this thread a few days ago.

I first searched ECF for "The DID" and it wouldn't search for what it called a common word "did", but I am here now.s

I have read and seen some of the videos and have learned a lot about what to expect from my first Gen. atty. But there are a few questions that weren't answered, that I was hoping an OLD PRO could answer. I'll be using my ProVeri.

1. Some flavors I use last longer in STDC carto than others. Will the same flavors that don't last as long in the carto's do the same on The DID?

I think some flavors saturate your taste buds and make the flavor seem to weaken. Vaping a couple of flavors can help....or keep a cartos with plain nic pg or VG. This will allow your taste buds to recover

2. Does the gunk buildup, or the half burnt liquid on the mesh wick ever seep back into the liquid in the tank ruining the taste? And if so, is there a way to prevent this?
if you over torch your wick it can fall apart leaving black slimy stuff in your tank. Doesn't affect taste just the gross factor. You can prevent by not torching too long. Search for the Jack Frost method

3. Can you flip the wick over and re-coil the portion that was in the tank?
Sure you can. Not sure why you would want to though.

4. Should I never try thinner wire for coils? Or if I ever get The MINI DID for my EGO Twist's, would it be better to use thinner wire for battery life?
You can use any gauge wire you want.....just know that the thinner wire pops really easily and you are limited on the number of wraps.....unless you are looking for a 3+ ohm coil. Twisting 33awg wire works well though

5. Which of my favorite tastyvapor.us flavors should I use FIRST, on The DID's Virgin, maiden voyage? Carmel Popcorn, Banana Nut Bread, Maple Waffles, Tasty (Butter) Finger, Cafe Mocha or Coconut Cream Pie?
All those flavors will be delicious in the DID .....pick your favorite. The DID is wonderful with fruit and bakery juices. May need to cut your nic level down a bit. Banana nut bread will make crazy amounts of vapor for some reason

6. And that reminds me, should I use Atomic Cinnacide? It is a very Strong Cinnamon that likes to etch (make cloudy) clear plastic tanks. Will that hurt The DID?
Won't hurt the stainless steel tank any.....may hurt your throat though. Not sure how tough you are

First off, welcome to Jims DID thread turnforward. As for your questions.

5. Start with your favorite. ;)

Well, welcome to the fold turnforward.

5. Starting flavour.
That's up to you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys for answering my Questions, and being helpful.
BUT, the most important Question: #5 which of my favorite flavors should I break-in my new DID with, when it gets in, was the most important question that I had asked.
It will take me an hour or two to figure that one out. Thankx a lot!!! LOL>

You MUST have a favorite already. You MUST have them ranked SOMEhow. That's what you pick to start. :D

and all searches seem to come up empty in regards to using a rebuildable on a VW mod, see plenty on VV's. Any advise?

same as any atty. there is no difference. we adjust voltage for the ohm, you set the watt and let them calculate the ohm. The atty provide that ohm number that's all.

There is plenty of ppl using DID on VW devices/kicked. Probably not really noticeable since it really doesn't matter.

Overall, I keep seeing you and others saying fruit flavors are great..
I've used geninis attys for almost 2 years, and have yet to have a ”bam” moment with my fruity flavors. I have to use my HH 357 for them.
Do you do anything different? Other than a traditional roll a standard wick and wrap a coil?
Maybe I just don't like fruit in gennys....

the low ohm ppl set up are usually for mechanical devices so they can push a lot of watt through it. VV and I assume VW devices should have safety limit that prevent extreme use (kick is only 10 watt, not sure about darwin or possibly other VW devices).

normally with DID we are talking about 1.5-3 ohm coils through normal 4/3 or 5/4 coil with kanthal 32 so you should be just fine.
