Speaking of ejuice with good tip bottles, the ones from AltSmoke.com are great for the attys! Theirs is the only one in my arsenal that is easy to refill the DID with.
It took me forever to finally pick up needle nose bottles on purpose. But, finally, I did it and haven't regretted it since. I got mine at COV, for a buck 50 each or so. One of these days you'll be shopping for something else and find you have a buck or two left over for a bottle. Honest! If it happened to me, it can happen to anyone. :)

Yea, little pointy bottles look way better in public when going for the adhoc refill. Pull out a syringe and start juicing up and folks look really strangely at you...

Contrary to all of my previous coils, I just wrapped a tight (like coils spaced closely together, not like pinching the wick) 5/6 coil, running it at 4.2 on the ProVari, and I have to say, best performance I've had on the DID to date with regard to both flavor and vapor, and no wicking issues even with the fill hole plugged...
I typically run 3/4, but this may be my new setup on this genesis...

Awesome! What resistance are you pulling with the 5/6 and what wire gauge?

I have tried the silica wick and it works great. You could also wrap the as wick with silica the have the best of both worlds.
has any one tried the did with silica wick?

I am having trouble with hot spots and i think the taste is a bit metallic even when i have it setup right.

using 30 gauge nichrome or 28 gauge kanthal.

don't really like the whole idea of quenching and torching, takes too much time.

Any thoughts about the silica wick?
As far as torching goes.... i just torch the flat piece for a couple of seconds. Roll the wich and do juice burned off with lighter. This makes a soft week but is much less likely to short on you.

I finally got my shipping e-mail today.
I've noticed everyone in the demo videos uses a small torch. And many people have shown links to torches that cost from $25 to $50.
Wouldn't the larger torches work better and faster than the pencil torches? Don't they heat up a larger area, and wouldn't that be best if you do a pre-burn, on the mesh, before rolling the wick? I mean, that one guy spent about 8 minutes with that little torch doing just that.
These torches, I found, from Home Depot. The large torch $13, and the Micro torch $8. Won't they work for oxidizing?

After a month of waiting, I finally received my clear window. When I opened the package, there's a large CRACK on the tube. :(

Has anyone had any luck with finding a nice, reasonably priced mechanical mod or vv device that puts out 4-5 amps?
I bought a Lavatube V1 ($65,tube 2x batts & charger, cheap I thought!) and it's not playing nice with the DID.
My current coil is twisted 32g Kanthal 4/5 wrap at around 1.6-1.7Ohm and the lavatube only just runs it on a really freshly charged battery. I have ended up using my ego batteries and they really run it pretty well.
I have tried a 2.4Ohm (not twisted) but it still seems to be limiting output on the lavatube and the egos won't play then.
I felt myself veering towards the ego big bat mod ($20) the last time I ordered some supplies locally, but feared the switch might be full of amp limiting electro trickery.
I have the batteries and charger from the lavatube kit so it was tempting.
I know the V1 LT is supposed to have a 2.5A limit but it must be lower than that as the battery runs down, more like 2A.
I believe egos have a 3-3.2A limit hence the unlikely performance superiority over the LT.
I love the DID but can't afford a Provari for it yet, even if that is suitable at 3.5A.
So has anyone paired their DID with the Ego big bat Mod, and what were your thoughts or experience?

Studio, here it is IMO - You have a high quality genisis DID. You need, yes need a high quality PV to pair it with. You only get what you pay for. I would recommend to you the Caravela. It hits the hardest of any PV I own or have owned so far. Make sure you pair the DID with MNKE or AW IMR Batts

Any size you want 18350, 18500, 18650

157.00 in brushed finish - it will last you a lifetime unless you lose it

Propane torches put out too much heat. They will destroy the mesh making them crumble now or within a couple weeks. That is unless you are a master with propane.

Here you go from Harbor freight - 8.99 should have a store around San Diego

Ok, I thought I might get flashed some pv porn, and point taken, get what you pay for.
If there was a store around the corner here in Queensland with such tempting delights I would have no doubt splashed out already. It's that whole online ordering/waiting/shipping thing that somehow quashes my impulsive shiny thing buying reflex, I think, no!, i need to eat or fill the petrol tank or something unrewarding like that :(
