Studio, here it is IMO - You have a high quality genisis DID. You need, yes need a high quality PV to pair it with. You only get what you pay for. I would recommend to you the Caravela. It hits the hardest of any PV I own or have owned so far. Make sure you pair the DID with MNKE or AW IMR Batts

Any size you want 18350, 18500, 18650

157.00 in brushed finish - it will last you a lifetime unless you lose it

All your mods look so shiny! I like it!

Has anyone had any luck with finding a nice, reasonably priced mechanical mod or vv device that puts out 4-5 amps?
I bought a Lavatube V1 ($65,tube 2x batts & charger, cheap I thought!) and it's not playing nice with the DID.
My current coil is twisted 32g Kanthal 4/5 wrap at around 1.6-1.7Ohm and the lavatube only just runs it on a really freshly charged battery. I have ended up using my ego batteries and they really run it pretty well.
I have tried a 2.4Ohm (not twisted) but it still seems to be limiting output on the lavatube and the egos won't play then.
I felt myself veering towards the ego big bat mod ($20) the last time I ordered some supplies locally, but feared the switch might be full of amp limiting electro trickery.
I have the batteries and charger from the lavatube kit so it was tempting.
I know the V1 LT is supposed to have a 2.5A limit but it must be lower than that as the battery runs down, more like 2A.
I believe egos have a 3-3.2A limit hence the unlikely performance superiority over the LT.
I love the DID but can't afford a Provari for it yet, even if that is suitable at 3.5A.
So has anyone paired their DID with the Ego big bat Mod, and what were your thoughts or experience?

Or you can buy GP Paps, is cheaper.

Lavatube is more friendly with Genesis atomizers, than Provari.

Speaking of ejuice with good tip bottles, the ones from AltSmoke.com are great for the attys! Theirs is the only one in my arsenal that is easy to refill the DID with.
It took me forever to finally pick up needle nose bottles on purpose. But, finally, I did it and haven't regretted it since. I got mine at COV, for a buck 50 each or so. One of these days you'll be shopping for something else and find you have a buck or two left over for a bottle. Honest! If it happened to me, it can happen to anyone. :)

Can you show us a picture of the bottle, please :)

My lazy way of topping off my DID: (insert needle straight into wick :p)

I use tobacco juice almost exclusively and they shine in my DiD's. I make my own using some Ozzie concentrates which maybe Dekang based and some Hangsen ones.Beautiful!

I have used El Torro that are tobacco steeped and are nice but clog the wick and coil before the day is out.

RC

Hi Ravenscroft, just found this mention about tobacco flavors in the DID.
Tobbaccos are my daily vape, but I'm still struggling to get one that "shines" in the DID, I know "taste is subjective but I would love to know your Ozzie sources & mixing advice.
I feared I would have to use cartos or clearomizers again, but maybe there is hope downunder

MiriamWTH you are brave, I'm still at the stage where if I have a coil running sweet I dare not disturb it.
Plus I run a tiny hole in my dual wick/one piece hybrid wick, so I probably wouldn't get a VG compliant needle in there.
I hate carrying around Syringes, make me feel like... well blah>
Just put an order in with a local supplier and didn't think to order needle tip filler bottle, DOH!

Wick and coil number 3, think I'm starting to get the hang of it thanks to all the handy hints through out this thread.

Metered out at 1.6 ohms using 30AWG A1 Kanthal and 400 mesh supplied with Mini Did, running at 3.3v on my Ego 18650 mod.
only about 2.5 layers of mesh in the wick and a bit thinner than the last wick.

Used a straightened out 50mm paper clip to wrap the mesh around, then I wrapped the coil around the shaft of a 1.8 mm drill bit and slipped it onto the wick and attached to the posts. Job done.

Thanks to all the people that DID contribute their experience and knowledge to make this thread great. :toast:

Great to hear of your success Goz.

Was looking at the cheap joy mod myself today but manages to resist, so glad I DID found this just now: EcigModShop Australia - SmokTech ZMAX - Stainless Steel

Will be saving for this and a mini to accompany my DID standard.

I must admit that this wick is one i made back in early May and the coil I made mid August when i got my post replacement after I broke my post, both wick and coil are very stable now. The needle is also big enough for VG ;-)
This is a wick made from 40mm by 50mm mesh (400) and fits snug in the hole while having a middle opening that fits my VG needle. I love this wick!
I now basically only fill through the purposely made fill hole when i dry burn and clean my DID (insert syringe in fill hole and flush out with water)

Thanks ricklynchcore, thinking Zmax SS $125AU maybe the answer now.
Thanks for the info though,I'm still awaiting a definitive review of the Z.

No but it's on the list for next order ;)

Currently using the B type from this photo on my set-up to cover the ego threads

For refilling I just discovered that an 18 gauge blunt tip needle will screw into the top of these bottles.
